I identify with spider but i didn’t know how much until i watched your videos, i was bitten by a brown recluse about 8 years ago and it was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had, I still bare a scar from it that will never go away. Love this, Jordana. Spider has been appearing as a spirit guide. I had a spider skitter across my notebook while I was giving a reading... had to pretend it didn’t happen. It was an enormous wolf spider- by Wisconsin standards. About the size of a quarter. The next day, I was walking out of the hospital parking garage... and this teeny little orb weaver had spun a web that was the size of my ENTIRE STANDING BODY. At that point, I picked up the phone. So much of what you said resonated. I’ve been spending a lot of time at Lake Michigan, trying to let go of control and get in touch with my feelings. I think Spider is teaching me trust- something I have always struggled with. I am a Human Design 6/2 ( Defined G Center/Throat) and a Life Path 22/4.

That 22/4 Life Path really does give you an extra challenge in the "letting go of control and trusting" department, so WAY TO GO for giving this the extra attention that it needs. My favorite book on the subject (this was a big struggle for me, too) is called Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins. It is all about surrendering control through feeling our feelings. Some of my clients really vibe with it, and some do not, but it was the text that was most beneficial for me - All of my letting go and relaxing began with Hawkins, and my life has become increasingly peaceful and magical as a result. Seeing so many spiders lately. Two are in the opposite corners of the doorway to my bedroom and then today one on steering wheel. My favorite was when I was taking a walk, wearing a baseball cap, and one was on my baseball cap and came down a little to say hello it seemed. So many enchanting moments. Great reading. Thank you. Amazing and true. I think one more trait is the famous "not giving up " attitude spiders have. No matter how many times they slip backwards, they resolutely climb back up. It's what inspired Robert the Bruce in history. I also admire their acrobatic feats on a single line of silk. Changing directions, hanging and swaying while surveying their surroundings. Flexibility, acuity, might be their traits too.

It's funny how you explained the the inner eye thing. I am a spider but have perfect physical vision. However my intuition has always been true and yes I am clairsentient and empathic but just now reaching my peak at 30 yrs old. 👍 we are indeed guided by our intuition and heart.
I literally just finished meditating and asking the powers that be to show me my totem animal when I went to read my tea leaves. Much of the info was pretty spot on for me. I had been terrified of spiders my whole life, to a silly extent. Almost 2 years ago i watched some youtube meditation video that was supposed to reveal your spirit animal. i went into it thinking it wouldnt really tell me my spirit animal, but towards the end it 100% definitely showed me it was a spider, no question, lol. i wish i could remember which video i watched. i saw like a gigantic spider from outer space, maybe you can tell me if that means anything....ever since then i havent been as afraid of spiders and kinda like them now :). that moment has stuck with me and im glad i came across your channel. appreciate ya

This really hit home. I’m a male, however, one afternoon about two years ago I saw a huge spider descending from what it appear to be a line of web, this occurred while I was waking up from a nap in my room. I wasn’t fully conscious yet. Recently, my girlfriend said she walked into a cob web when entering my room. I have never been satisfied working for other people, and always felt I was being taken advantage of, ripped off, and limited. I was terrified of spiders my whole life and I knew there was a reason I kept getting called to them. I'd close my eyes and see them, all kinds and I felt pulled even though I'd run in my waking life. I did research and it just left me more at odds with myself. I've done so much and come so far in my journey, but I had not surrendered to these concepts because I kept ignoring my feelings (even though I acknowledged the fact I needed to follow them) I didn't understand how vital it was for me. Everything you said down to the throat chakra and being amazing at manifestation, rang like a bell inside of my system and I understand the battle I was putting myself through that no amount of thinking could take me out of it. Last night I had a dream about a spider and in the dream the spider told me it was a wolf spider . I have spider dreams a lot I e noticed since embarking on my awakening journey. Found it fascinating that the spider told me what it was in my dream.

I related so much to this,lol it was eery at times.I'm not sure if the spider really is my totem but so many things i related to it.I find it interesting how I have had a phobia of certain bugs and strongly dislike most but with arachnids i don't have the same fear.Not sure if that could be related or not,thanx for the video though,i subscribed and I'll check your others out especially the other spider ones u mentioned in the description :)
I have a black widow and her sac of eggs on my water fountain box next to my patio door. I am so glad I ckd this out! I moved the water fountain far away from the door, and feel much better. She has been there all summer without an event sending her webs out in all directions. I am proud of that but am concerned about the hundreds of babies to come so will do some research. I'm so glad you found the video so helpful, Caren! Indeed, critters like black windows are where we tend to really find ourselves torn between exercising what we would normally perceive as "common sense" vs. letting our Higher Selves lead, no matter how perilous that may seem to be. If it helps, the Universe really isn't waiting around to punish us if we trust "common sense" here; if we remove the potentially dangerous critter and there was something more we were intended to learn from it, it will either reappear again, or we'll receive the message in another way. The Universe knows we can only do our best. Whenever one of these situations arises, I make my best effort to figure out what I am being told, thank the critter profusely for helping me understand something important, and then do whatever gives me a sense of relief. In the case of black widows, I let them stay in the garage if they are keeping to themselves in a corner I don't use (and I only do this if there aren't that many! If there are a bunch, some of them have to go!), but I do attempt to *CAUTIOUSLY* relocate them if they are (as in the most recent example) hanging right above my open car door! So just do whatever gives you peace of mind around your safety, and it will be perfectly all right. Warmly, Jordana

This describes my life to a “t”. Spider medicine is always with me and I haven’t h3d until now such an accurate breakdown of how it relates to me other than the whole “trickster” story. I’m easily overwhelmed, Pisces rising (so a natural sponge), can be caused sickness quickly if diet is off balance, and make my own way to make money and always somehow have what I need, especially when I don’t feeeel I have it in me to do the healing work I do, and have to push the “should” voices out of my head, everything else is pretty on point too. This was very helpful to me. I had a dream last night about this small spider with a perfect web that I was afraid of and found myself going to look for the spray to kill it and by the time I came back it was bigger and started communicating with me stating it was there to help me and guide me as well. The interesting thing about about your video I always looked at myself as a Black Widow Spider and I even have that as a Tattoo. Hey! Thank you for this video. I found out I was a spider about 2 years ago, I asked to find my animal, and that night i had a dream I fell into a huge spider web and spiders were crawling all over me (I didnt feel threatened or anything) and when I looked it up, it was so me. Finding my animal changed my life and my perspective on everything. Spiders have come to my rescue and have shown up to warn me about certain people and situations in my life. I'm in kind of a not so ideal living situation right now, and I feel stuck when it comes to changing it, so I've been focusing on using my manifestation skills to bring myself closer to a home where I do in fact feel at home, and tonight I got to the place where Im living, and there was a HUGE spiderweb with a giant spider in the center completely blocking my entrance into the house! It was crazy and I can't figure out the exact meaning lol But I am so thankful for this video, so much information that makes so much sense, and I was wondering if you could give me any psychic protection tips? I really relate to the "absorbing other peoples emotions" part quite a lot. I have dreamt twice, or so, of a spider. Its not exactly like an average dream. I feel like I'm about to wake up but I'm still sleeping, and I feel like I'm seeing, like maybe in a remote view (which is something I don't do, and I don't know how to do), but when this happens is always about the same spider walking aroud... I see it for a little while and that's it... and then I wake up. Happened to me twice or so. Made a little research about spiders and dreams and such; found this video. I'm a male and I don't think I ever had any particular special interest in spiders, but some things you told here apply to me quite well...
I am so glad I just found this. I will be contacting you soon, but I just have to tell everyone about the CRAZY way I found out I was a spider person. It's kind of long lol... I first started noticing spiders about 6 months ago. I was in a marriage that was very emotionally abusive and I was deeply unhappy and didnt know what to do besides look online about what was happening to me. I discovered what Narcissistic Personality Disorder was... my ex to a T... and how they are often paired with empaths... so I looked into that and it was me to a T. Extreme sensitivity has always been a part of my life, as well as a very vivid dream life, lots of deja vu, unexplained mood swings and emotional and physical pain. It was like the instant I realized I was an empath, the spiders showed up. They could be a multitude of shapes and sizes, but all had a red teardrop/ diamond hybrid shape on their backs. I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE had this on their back, in my dreams and in real life. I did not see a spider without that mark on it's back for 6 months. The longer time went on and the worsr my marriage got, the more frequently I saw them to the point I was seeing them almost every single day, either in real life or dreams. The day I finally left my husband, it was the end of the second day since I'd seen one. I was at my best friend's house and me, him and his roommate were sitting on their back deck talking. I started daydreaming about my next spider encounter, knowing it was coming since it had been almost 2 days. I finished the thought, turned my head to look at said roommate and my eyes literally honed in on his left inner bicep... a tattoo of a black spider with the same red mark on it's back that I had been seeing for 6 months. The feeling I got in that moment was so powerful I can't even explain it. I got lightheaded and a rush of adrenaline and my whole stomach area got very warm and I made up an excuse and left immediately because it was just so overwhelming. I later contacted the roommate and told him what was going on and asked him about what the tattoo meant. He said this was all so crazy because the meaning of it totally applies to me. It came from a bible quote, "the spider taketh hold with her hands and is in king's palaces" I looked up the interpretation and could not stop sobbing. It was exactly what I needed. Him and I have a connection. When I look in his eyes sometimes I get lost in them. He is in a transitional time in his life as well, but because he's not really connected to himself, he's just scrambling around trying to figure it out. We were hanging out for a while, and we "hooked up". But this was not your average hookup. It was like, mind blowing connection, like we just knew what the other person wanted. It was the best hookup of my life, for sure. Then a girl from his past calls out him up... the kind that had a total spell on him. So he went back with her. It crushed me for a moment, but then I realized I could wait because he needs to figure that out. People keep telling me I shouldn't just take that, but I just got it... my gut told me it was part of his journey he needed to get out of the way before I could be involved. It lasted about 2 weeks. We are getting together tomorrow. It seems the spell has been broken... who knows where it goes from here. Also just worth mentioning, from the moment I saw that tattoo on his arm and had that feeling... I have not seen a single spider with the red mark on it's back and they are gone completely from my dreams.... the Universe is insanely magical!
Been seein all kinds if spiders all around my house for the last couple months. Of course i understand the scientific meaning but this was way more useful.

Hi :D Ive always had such a huge fear of spiders, so much that i thought looking up their totem was too dangerous bcos of a potential picture that might be on the site, also the thumbnail of the video really made my skin crawl. though i knew you would give me a lot of information :) and wouldnt show any spider pictures during this video! haha thank goodness! But after watching this, it made me really realize I myself am very much a spider totem! :) I talked this idea through with my mom, but i was also wondering what you think about this; is my idea or thought true? Spiders are so true to me, as well as my other totem a Red Panda (from what ive read). but my initial thought toward red pandas was that i was proud of them, and even more-proud to know it was my totem! (ive read they are happy when people around them are content, introverted but still involved in the community, value of gentleness, rejuvenation when alone, providing wisdom to a community while remaining apart from it.) Which is very much how i like to live my life, and was happy that it did pertain to me rather than just an animal i admired. But the spider on the other hand is something i fear, and yet it also pertains to me, it is what i tend to do, but not always what i want to represent myself as.. (Such as the fact i need to remind myself i control my own web, positive thoughts help my web, knowing i didnt do anything wrong but needing to take time &wait to develop my skills before swinging into my creative task). Sometimes i dont like to admit to others or to myself that i have problems with these things.. so, Is it possible that the reason i have a fear of spiders, but embrace red pandas physical animal because deep down the spider totem reads more of my struggles and really works me emotionally, when the red panda is like how i am on more of a daily basis when dealing with everyday situations? Could you help me figure things out a little more? Perhaps If i accepted and really embraced my spider tenancies as much as the red panda i would learn to love spiders and find them as cute and sweet as a red panda? :) not sure though! maybe my fear of how they appear has nothing to do with my emotions towards them? The work that I do these days has become uniquely my own; it is based in multiple areas of metaphysical study developed over many years, as well as in a knowledge of cultural archetypes. Astrology, numerology, Eastern medicine, chromotherapy, various divinatory systems, religion, and the specific links between the emotions and the body are the fields of study that I call upon most often. Providing resources for each of those fields would probably be a bit overwhelming, so my suggestion if any of them interest you is just to skim through books on the subject until you find one that calls to you and go from there (though I would definitely recommend Steven Forrest's The Inner Sky as a great jumping-off point for astrological study) :) However, when I was first learning to work with animals in this way, I found Ted Andrews' book Animal Speak to be an excellent foundation, and I relied upon it heavily. It's a great place to start developing your own understanding where animal wisdom is concerned! A number of the things that Ted wrote as factual statements about animals are not quite true; they were accepted as common knowledge at the time of his writing, and we did not have the resources we do now to investigate them. So you may wish to double-check certain statements before speaking about them as fact. However, even urban myths (the one that springs to mind is the ability of a swan's wing to break a man's arm, which is not true) have their influence on how we respond to an animal as a totem or guide, so they remain important. I find it amusing that the animals that stereotypically represent feminine power are feisty critters. Cat: You can't tell me I'm not fabulous. Spider: You're not the boss of me!
Lol! If that's not a Cat quote, I don't know what is! Now you've got me thinking about those creatures which often represent masculine power (for example, Lion has actually been used as a symbol for both male AND female power, depending on who is doing the interpretation, and so has Snake. And Lion really is just a very big kitty! Lol!). I don't know if I would say the critters related to feminine power are necessary more feisty than those related to male power, though perhaps their exertions of power, when they occur, are perhaps more unpredictable! Lord knows we can't predict what a cat will do and why! lol!

I'd need more time to think of stereotypical masculine creatures. Have you ever considered a video addressing when animals highlight something other than themselves? A recent example to clarify: I work at a kennel, and a few days ago I saw a lot of bluebirds and deer when I stopped to look up from what I was doing, most times when I was dealing with a fussy dog that forced me to stop and look. It was a cardinal flying over my head drawing my attention to a wasp nest that made me think: hey, look up, stupid! Still debating the exact meaning of "look up," but that's the part that seems important. After some thought, I think the topic I'm suggesting is the significance of direction, primarily as it relates to animals, but I'd also enjoy seeing how it relates to other forms or energies. For my own meditation, I cycle between three interpretations for "look up": 1. Be as deer. Look up, and use your senses to detect threats. 2. Take a step back from the situation. Consider all the pieces. 3. A variation of "hey, keep your chin up!"
Apparently, this is how you know that you write/speak a lot ... someone quotes you to you, and you can't recall ever saying that! LOL!!!! Regarding canines, at least in the realm of dream interpretation, they ARE symbols for masculinity! :) This is not always true, of course, but when a client tells me they are dreaming about dogs, the first thing I will tend to ask them is how they are feeling about their own masculine energies, or about the men in their life. In the case of cats, we start with feminine-related questions. To answer your question (I think), it feels like you may have complicated things a bit. In my experience, the Universe uses whatever it knows will get our attention. If we are naturally more attuned to animals, as I would expect you to be given your choice of profession, it would make sense that many of your "signals" would come in the form of animals, with perhaps the specific messages linked to the animal itself being less significant than the fact that they "got you to look", so to speak. With other less animal-oriented folks, if a bluebird is REALLY standing out to them, then I would be more inclined to look at the message unique to Bluebird. Does that make sense? All that being said, if what feels most significant to you is the idea of being told to "Look up!", then this is absolutely where your attention is supposed to be, and you can only benefit from working with it. Hope that helps! :)
Complicating things is not only a talent. It is also a skill I have honed through passionate practice over the years. I wouldn't be surprised. Still bumbling around in the dark, trying to understand what works for me and what it means, rather than making it say anything. Makes me think of how people interpret reversed tarot cards and runes differently, like it either meaning the opposite of its stated meaning, or reflecting an internal aspect rather than an external one. Understanding is a slow journey. What you're saying about signals reminds me of a non-animal thing that felt like it was directed at me. Years ago, I felt a dark-night-of-the-soul angst, and while heading off to brood, I stopped to watch part of a random movie on the T.V. I stayed for the entire thing, an unusual action for me. I won't call it a perfect movie, but it was perfect for me in that moment. It didn't solve everything, but it lifted my spirits so much that I went out the next day to purchase it. It was like being told to have faith, even if you feel what you have to offer is not cherished by the World. There's a place for it. Kennel work is more a choice of necessity than desire, unfortunately. The job feels more like a mixture of a boot camp for patience and Purgatory for the times I was a less-than-ideal dog owner. Its expectations and realities stand in stark contrast to my own ideals. To its credit, it has taught me how to do things better in the future. The thought of deploying my own spider silk sail away from it is an appealing one...
I hear you *completely*, Daniel. Honestly, I think to some extent we are always "bumbling around in the dark"; at its core, that's what using our heart/intuition to lead really means. We surrender to the belief that Something greater than ourselves (even just the energy of All That Is and the movement towards some kind of a "Divine order") can see the paths that we cannot, and so we have to eternally FEEL our way forward rather than relying upon what LOOKS like it will work, or what we *think* we know will work. I know people love to say they've been "enlightened", but in my own life, it would be more accurate to say I've grown comfortable exploring the dark. Your movie experience...I've had a few of those myself. It is a wonderful thing indeed that you can let yourself be where you need to be, even if it doesn't seem like the "usual" thing you would do. Kudos to you for such a balanced perspective on your kennel work. If it is time to sail away on a breeze to another, more enjoyable vocation, may the process unfold with perfect ease and joy.
I identify with spider but i didn’t know how much until i watched your videos, i was bitten by a brown recluse about 8 years ago and it was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had, I still bare a scar from it that will never go away. Love this, Jordana. Spider has been appearing as a spirit guide. I had a spider skitter across my notebook while I was giving a reading... had to pretend it didn’t happen. It was an enormous wolf spider- by Wisconsin standards. About the size of a quarter. The next day, I was walking out of the hospital parking garage... and this teeny little orb weaver had spun a web that was the size of my ENTIRE STANDING BODY. At that point, I picked up the phone. So much of what you said resonated. I’ve been spending a lot of time at Lake Michigan, trying to let go of control and get in touch with my feelings. I think Spider is teaching me trust- something I have always struggled with. I am a Human Design 6/2 ( Defined G Center/Throat) and a Life Path 22/4.

That 22/4 Life Path really does give you an extra challenge in the "letting go of control and trusting" department, so WAY TO GO for giving this the extra attention that it needs. My favorite book on the subject (this was a big struggle for me, too) is called Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins. It is all about surrendering control through feeling our feelings. Some of my clients really vibe with it, and some do not, but it was the text that was most beneficial for me - All of my letting go and relaxing began with Hawkins, and my life has become increasingly peaceful and magical as a result. Amazing and true. I think one more trait is the famous "not giving up " attitude spiders have. No matter how many times they slip backwards, they resolutely climb back up. It's what inspired Robert the Bruce in history. I also admire their acrobatic feats on a single line of silk. Changing directions, hanging and swaying while surveying their surroundings. Flexibility, acuity, might be their traits too.

It's funny how you explained the the inner eye thing. I am a spider but have perfect physical vision. However my intuition has always been true and yes I am clairsentient and empathic but just now reaching my peak at 30 yrs old. 👍 we are indeed guided by our intuition and heart.

Much of the info was pretty spot on for me. I had been terrified of spiders my whole life, to a silly extent. Almost 2 years ago i watched some youtube meditation video that was supposed to reveal your spirit animal. i went into it thinking it wouldnt really tell me my spirit animal, but towards the end it 100% definitely showed me it was a spider, no question, lol. i wish i could remember which video i watched. i saw like a gigantic spider from outer space, maybe you can tell me if that means anything....ever since then i havent been as afraid of spiders and kinda like them now :). that moment has stuck with me and im glad i came across your channel. appreciate ya

This really hit home. I’m a male, however, one afternoon about two years ago I saw a huge spider descending from what it appear to be a line of web, this occurred while I was waking up from a nap in my room. I wasn’t fully conscious yet. Recently, my girlfriend said she walked into a cob web when entering my room. I have never been satisfied working for other people, and always felt I was being taken advantage of, ripped off, and limited. I’ve struggled to find satisfying romantic relationships with women because most want a fairytale that I cannot fulfill. My needs are much simpler. To add, my mother was a terrible human being...

Thank you so very much for sharing this video. This was the message I desperately needed for a breakthrough in better understanding my core. I was terrified of spiders my whole life and I knew there was a reason I kept getting called to them. I'd close my eyes and see them, all kinds and I felt pulled even though I'd run in my waking life. I did research and it just left me more at odds with myself. I've done so much and come so far in my journey, but I had not surrendered to these concepts because I kept ignoring my feelings (even though I acknowledged the fact I needed to follow them) I didn't understand how vital it was for me. Everything you said down to the throat chakra and being amazing at manifestation, rang like a bell inside of my system and I understand the battle I was putting myself through that no amount of thinking could take me out of it. I related so much to this,lol it was eery at times.I'm not sure if the spider really is my totem but so many things i related to it.I find it interesting how I have had a phobia of certain bugs and strongly dislike most but with arachnids i don't have the same fear.Not sure if that could be related or not,thanx for the video though,i subscribed and I'll check your others out especially the other spider ones u mentioned in the description :)

I have a black widow and her sac of eggs on my water fountain box next to my patio door. I am so glad I ckd this out! I moved the water fountain far away from the door, and feel much better. She has been there all summer without an event sending her webs out in all directions. I am proud of that but am concerned about the hundreds of babies to come so will do some research. Thank you for the insight. You are right on.

Indeed, critters like black windows are where we tend to really find ourselves torn between exercising what we would normally perceive as "common sense" vs. letting our Higher Selves lead, no matter how perilous that may seem to be. If it helps, the Universe really isn't waiting around to punish us if we trust "common sense" here; if we remove the potentially dangerous critter and there was something more we were intended to learn from it, it will either reappear again, or we'll receive the message in another way. The Universe knows we can only do our best. Whenever one of these situations arises, I make my best effort to figure out what I am being told, thank the critter profusely for helping me understand something important, and then do whatever gives me a sense of relief. In the case of black widows, I let them stay in the garage if they are keeping to themselves in a corner I don't use (and I only do this if there aren't that many! If there are a bunch, some of them have to go!), but I do attempt to *CAUTIOUSLY* relocate them if they are (as in the most recent example) hanging right above my open car door! So just do whatever gives you peace of mind around your safety, and it will be perfectly all right. Warmly, Jordana

This describes my life to a “t”. Spider medicine is always with me and I haven’t h3d until now such an accurate breakdown of how it relates to me other than the whole “trickster” story. I’m easily overwhelmed, Pisces rising (so a natural sponge), can be caused sickness quickly if diet is off balance, and make my own way to make money and always somehow have what I need, especially when I don’t feeeel I have it in me to do the healing work I do, and have to push the “should” voices out of my head, everything else is pretty on point too. This was very helpful to me. I had a dream last night about this small spider with a perfect web that I was afraid of and found myself going to look for the spray to kill it and by the time I came back it was bigger and started communicating with me stating it was there to help me and guide me as well. Hey! Thank you for this video. I found out I was a spider about 2 years ago, I asked to find my animal, and that night i had a dream I fell into a huge spider web and spiders were crawling all over me (I didnt feel threatened or anything) and when I looked it up, it was so me. Finding my animal changed my life and my perspective on everything. Spiders have come to my rescue and have shown up to warn me about certain people and situations in my life. I'm in kind of a not so ideal living situation right now, and I feel stuck when it comes to changing it, so I've been focusing on using my manifestation skills to bring myself closer to a home where I do in fact feel at home, and tonight I got to the place where Im living, and there was a HUGE spiderweb with a giant spider in the center completely blocking my entrance into the house! It was crazy and I can't figure out the exact meaning lol But I am so thankful for this video, so much information that makes so much sense, and I was wondering if you could give me any psychic protection tips? I really relate to the "absorbing other peoples emotions" part quite a lot. I meditate quite a bit, and I try to imagine the white light of protection around me, I think I just have trouble trusting myself or something. I have dreamt twice, or so, of a spider. Its not exactly like an average dream. I feel like I'm about to wake up but I'm still sleeping, and I feel like I'm seeing, like maybe in a remote view (which is something I don't do, and I don't know how to do), but when this happens is always about the same spider walking aroud... I see it for a little while and that's it... and then I wake up. Happened to me twice or so. Made a little research about spiders and dreams and such; found this video. I'm a male and I don't think I ever had any particular special interest in spiders, but some things you told here apply to me quite well...
I am so glad I just found this. I will be contacting you soon, but I just have to tell everyone about the CRAZY way I found out I was a spider person. It's kind of long lol... I first started noticing spiders about 6 months ago. I was in a marriage that was very emotionally abusive and I was deeply unhappy and didnt know what to do besides look online about what was happening to me. I discovered what Narcissistic Personality Disorder was... my ex to a T... and how they are often paired with empaths... so I looked into that and it was me to a T. Extreme sensitivity has always been a part of my life, as well as a very vivid dream life, lots of deja vu, unexplained mood swings and emotional and physical pain. It was like the instant I realized I was an empath, the spiders showed up. They could be a multitude of shapes and sizes, but all had a red teardrop/ diamond hybrid shape on their backs. I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE had this on their back, in my dreams and in real life. I did not see a spider without that mark on it's back for 6 months. The longer time went on and the worsr my marriage got, the more frequently I saw them to the point I was seeing them almost every single day, either in real life or dreams. The day I finally left my husband, it was the end of the second day since I'd seen one. I was at my best friend's house and me, him and his roommate were sitting on their back deck talking. I started daydreaming about my next spider encounter, knowing it was coming since it had been almost 2 days. I finished the thought, turned my head to look at said roommate and my eyes literally honed in on his left inner bicep... a tattoo of a black spider with the same red mark on it's back that I had been seeing for 6 months. The feeling I got in that moment was so powerful I can't even explain it. I got lightheaded and a rush of adrenaline and my whole stomach area got very warm and I made up an excuse and left immediately because it was just so overwhelming. I later contacted the roommate and told him what was going on and asked him about what the tattoo meant. He said this was all so crazy because the meaning of it totally applies to me. It came from a bible quote, "the spider taketh hold with her hands and is in king's palaces" I looked up the interpretation and could not stop sobbing. It was exactly what I needed. Him and I have a connection. When I look in his eyes sometimes I get lost in them. He is in a transitional time in his life as well, but because he's not really connected to himself, he's just scrambling around trying to figure it out. We were hanging out for a while, and we "hooked up". But this was not your average hookup. It was like, mind blowing connection, like we just knew what the other person wanted. It was the best hookup of my life, for sure. Then a girl from his past calls out him up... the kind that had a total spell on him. So he went back with her. It crushed me for a moment, but then I realized I could wait because he needs to figure that out. People keep telling me I shouldn't just take that, but I just got it... my gut told me it was part of his journey he needed to get out of the way before I could be involved. It lasted about 2 weeks. We are getting together tomorrow. It seems the spell has been broken... who knows where it goes from here. Also just worth mentioning, from the moment I saw that tattoo on his arm and had that feeling... I have not seen a single spider with the red mark on it's back and they are gone completely from my dreams.... the Universe is insanely magical!

Ive always had such a huge fear of spiders, so much that i thought looking up their totem was too dangerous bcos of a potential picture that might be on the site, also the thumbnail of the video really made my skin crawl. though i knew you would give me a lot of information :) and wouldnt show any spider pictures during this video! haha thank goodness! But after watching this, it made me really realize I myself am very much a spider totem! :)
I talked this idea through with my mom, but i was also wondering what you think about this; is my idea or thought true?
Spiders are so true to me, as well as my other totem a Red Panda (from what ive read). but my initial thought toward red pandas was that i was proud of them, and even more-proud to know it was my totem! (ive read they are happy when people around them are content, introverted but still involved in the community, value of gentleness, rejuvenation when alone, providing wisdom to a community while remaining apart from it.) Which is very much how i like to live my life, and was happy that it did pertain to me rather than just an animal i admired.
But the spider on the other hand is something i fear, and yet it also pertains to me, it is what i tend to do, but not always what i want to represent myself as.. (Such as the fact i need to remind myself i control my own web, positive thoughts help my web, knowing i didnt do anything wrong but needing to take time &wait to develop my skills before swinging into my creative task). Sometimes i dont like to admit to others or to myself that i have problems with these things..
so, Is it possible that the reason i have a fear of spiders, but embrace red pandas physical animal because deep down the spider totem reads more of my struggles and really works me emotionally, when the red panda is like how i am on more of a daily basis when dealing with everyday situations?
Could you help me figure things out a little more? Perhaps If i accepted and really embraced my spider tenancies as much as the red panda i would learn to love spiders and find them as cute and sweet as a red panda? :)
not sure though! maybe my fear of how they appear has nothing to do with my emotions towards them?

The work that I do these days has become uniquely my own; it is based in multiple areas of metaphysical study developed over many years, as well as in a knowledge of cultural archetypes. Astrology, numerology, Eastern medicine, chromotherapy, various divinatory systems, religion, and the specific links between the emotions and the body are the fields of study that I call upon most often. Providing resources for each of those fields would probably be a bit overwhelming, so my suggestion if any of them interest you is just to skim through books on the subject until you find one that calls to you and go from there (though I would definitely recommend Steven Forrest's The Inner Sky as a great jumping-off point for astrological study) :) However, when I was first learning to work with animals in this way, I found Ted Andrews' book Animal Speak to be an excellent foundation, and I relied upon it heavily. It's a great place to start developing your own understanding where animal wisdom is concerned! A number of the things that Ted wrote as factual statements about animals are not quite true; they were accepted as common knowledge at the time of his writing, and we did not have the resources we do now to investigate them. So you may wish to double-check certain statements before speaking about them as fact. However, even urban myths (the one that springs to mind is the ability of a swan's wing to break a man's arm, which is not true) have their influence on how we respond to an animal as a totem or guide, so they remain important. Have you ever considered a video addressing when animals highlight something other than themselves? A recent example to clarify: I work at a kennel, and a few days ago I saw a lot of bluebirds and deer when I stopped to look up from what I was doing, most times when I was dealing with a fussy dog that forced me to stop and look. It was a cardinal flying over my head drawing my attention to a wasp nest that made me think: hey, look up, stupid! Still debating the exact meaning of "look up," but that's the part that seems important.
After some thought, I think the topic I'm suggesting is the significance of direction, primarily as it relates to animals, but I'd also enjoy seeing how it relates to other forms or energies.
For my own meditation, I cycle between three interpretations for "look up":
1. Be as deer. Look up, and use your senses to detect threats.

Regarding canines, at least in the realm of dream interpretation, they ARE symbols for masculinity! :) This is not always true, of course, but when a client tells me they are dreaming about dogs, the first thing I will tend to ask them is how they are feeling about their own masculine energies, or about the men in their life. In the case of cats, we start with feminine-related questions.
To answer your question (I think), it feels like you may have complicated things a bit. In my experience, the Universe uses whatever it knows will get our attention. If we are naturally more attuned to animals, as I would expect you to be given your choice of profession, it would make sense that many of your "signals" would come in the form of animals, with perhaps the specific messages linked to the animal itself being less significant than the fact that they "got you to look", so to speak. With other less animal-oriented folks, if a bluebird is REALLY standing out to them, then I would be more inclined to look at the message unique to Bluebird. Does that make sense?
All that being said, if what feels most significant to you is the idea of being told to "Look up!", then this is absolutely where your attention is supposed to be, and you can only benefit from working with it.

I wouldn't be surprised. Still bumbling around in the dark, trying to understand what works for me and what it means, rather than making it say anything. Makes me think of how people interpret reversed tarot cards and runes differently, like it either meaning the opposite of its stated meaning, or reflecting an internal aspect rather than an external one.
Understanding is a slow journey.
What you're saying about signals reminds me of a non-animal thing that felt like it was directed at me. Years ago, I felt a dark-night-of-the-soul angst, and while heading off to brood, I stopped to watch part of a random movie on the T.V. I stayed for the entire thing, an unusual action for me. I won't call it a perfect movie, but it was perfect for me in that moment. It didn't solve everything, but it lifted my spirits so much that I went out the next day to purchase it. It was like being told to have faith, even if you feel what you have to offer is not cherished by the World. There's a place for it.
Kennel work is more a choice of necessity than desire, unfortunately. The job feels more like a mixture of a boot camp for patience and Purgatory for the times I was a less-than-ideal dog owner. Its expectations and realities stand in stark contrast to my own ideals. To its credit, it has taught me how to do things better in the future.
The thought of deploying my own spider silk sail away from it is an appealing one...
I hear you *completely*, Daniel. Honestly, I think to some extent we are always "bumbling around in the dark"; at its core, that's what using our heart/intuition to lead really means. We surrender to the belief that Something greater than ourselves (even just the energy of All That Is and the movement towards some kind of a "Divine order") can see the paths that we cannot, and so we have to eternally FEEL our way forward rather than relying upon what LOOKS like it will work, or what we *think* we know will work. I know people love to say they've been "enlightened", but in my own life, it would be more accurate to say I've grown comfortable exploring the dark.
Your movie experience...I've had a few of those myself. It is a wonderful thing indeed that you can let yourself be where you need to be, even if it doesn't seem like the "usual" thing you would do.
