Hi Emerson, the amazing thing with Amira is that I can listen to her singing her songs over and over again and every time is like I'm hearing them for the first time and effect her voice has on me. She is incredible, I try not to analyse why she has tha effect on me and millions of others and I don't think Amira does either so we will carry on being amazed.

I may be wrong but I don't believe I've ever heard another vocalist on the level of this one. She is absolutely astonishing. One is left believing that there is not a note she can't hit.
thats right Edwin - I have been right next to Amira in a Radio Studio in January this year when she sang Nessun Dorma - a life changing experience - go to Amira Radio 702 interview on UA-cam to enjoy what I experienced.......
And she is 14 yrs old at the time of this performance.

the best performance, i have ever seen. when you think about the fact, that she is completely selfeducated only by watching you tube. i must cry everytime i hear her.
peter hoofs, I seriously doubt that. I think that when she started on Holland’s Got Talent she was probably self taught. Her performance then makes that obvious. Her breathing was pretty poor, but I’d make allowances for her 9 year old lungs for that, and her Italian pronunciation had that guttural Germanic tone-she is Dutch, so that, too, was understandable. What was never in doubt was the voice. It’s so good to see that she’s continued to develop and, as long as she’s not overstretched, she will be an even greater singer in the future.

This was a while ago now, and the world has been through much since then. This performance, of this song, is one that I keep coming back to when the challenges seem never ending. There is no light without the dark. This light shines through the darkest days. Good to see such a heartfelt reaction 👍🏻

She really is unique. I know there are many more very good singers, but Amira has something in her voice that touches almost anybody right in the heart. Her present vocal teacher in South Africa has said in an interview "her voice sounds like a tiny bell which does not stop when Amira stops singing her song" I think that is a beautifull image of what is also happening here in this video.

No heavy artificial reverb like Jackie Evancho, Judy Collins and all the rest. What and incredible sound.
I love Jackie and Amira both and buy both of their music. Thank God these young ladies don't stoop to this type of behavior. It is only the so called adults that do. I have not heard any auto tune in Jackie's music. Grow up!

I happen to like Jackie's voice too. My comment was about the increased reverb they are using on her recordings and performances. I think it's just too much and I wish they would stop it. She doesn't need it and I don't like it, Her voice just doesn't need it.
I know some of her fans think it sounds emotional and romantic. I just can't stand that slight echo. I've always been
bothered by it..
With Judy Collins they started using so much of it I couldn't listen to her anymore. All through her career that kept adding more and more reverb.
She sang an Amazing Grace and it sounded like she was singing in the bottom of a well. A lot of her fans loved it too. I thought it was just awful. A matter of taste, I guess. I don't know why the sound techs always think more is always better.

It is a very beautiful rendition of this song. The only version I prefer over her performance is the version from Laura Bretan. ua-cam.com/video/6OZMThBZz2w/v-deo.html . Amira is 2 years younger though ( 14 here) both are exceptional sopran singers already

Amira didn't "steal" the song--it's been around for many decades--nor did she steal any performance. She performs in her own style, but she sometimes emulates other singers if she and/or her producers believes their style might be something worthy of such emulation.
