Brands Hatch - Crash and Action - Mini Festival - August 2021

- Always a must do event for me every year, a brilliant two days of door to door racing with packed grids from various classic Mini championships, along with racing from the MSVR on the Saturday. Weather wise, it was a very unpredictable weekend, with it being bone dry one minute to torrential rain the next, poor GTIs never really caught a break! With it being a fairly incident heavy weekend, the marshals were certainty kept on their toes, and did a phenomenal job as always. Mini Festival 2021 was certainly one to be remembered.

I raced the Clive Trickey Mini on nearly all of them in 1993-94. 29 races, finishing 27 of them. Lots of fun. Still have the Mini, hasn't been started in 20 years. Sits in the back of my garage in Virginia, U.S. Ron
For me, without a shadow of doubt...the little minis are still attractive and always give a surprise...cute..brilliant

Not an event I went to this year so short answer is no, maybe one year in the future I’ll give it a go!

What speed do the little minis get up to.
I dunno, but I bet it feels twice as fast sitting inside one........... the most fun I've ever had on the road has been in Minis. Nothing better than learning how to drive an underpowered car right up to it's maximum capabilities.
I’m not sure about all of them but I think the Miglia class have a 0-60 time of just 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 125! Pretty quick if you ask me.
Awesome vid, those Mini drivers reaction times are fkn on it ! Lots of "professional" drivers have the reaction time of a fkn Sloth, all spinny headed after a crash, fkn clueless where 1st gear is and the start button LOL.

The "Crash and Action" events ARE entertaining...but the "Crash and Burn"
ones are delicious ! Especially with a secondary explosion.

some of the other cars have too many aero tweaks but they forgot to invest in some good tyres xD

I knew Russel Brand was fruity, but I didn't think he actually had a hatch.
For people paying for their own racing and repairs, some of them make some very 'interesting' decisions about placing their cars, and fighting for position - testosterone is such a dangerous drug ;-)
