Versys is not sand friendly. I can’t believe you thought sand would be okay! Too too heavy and you’ll never get the right kind of tyres for it. 17” front wheel is very limited. Decent gravel is fine.
@@tinkerbike2510 lol i can imagine. Have the 705s on my dual sport. I would of slid like crazy in there I'm sure... But can definitely see it still being fun on a light bike. I'm about to buy a verseys. Don't ride off road much but would like to. Light trails & dirt roads. Probably get the 700s (what i originally wanted but cycle gear here was out of the set. & Didn't realize atm that i only needed the back lol) or Dunlop 605s. I do love my tires on the road though. Had soft knobbies before & were sketchy. Especially on wet roads
@danielpatrick368 the 705 is an awesome tire for what it is. I think on a true dual sport like crf300 the sand would have been more manageable even with the 705s. Definitely want to try the Dunlop 605s as my next tire though
Good on you! We all have a learning curve. Well done!
But i did hear the weight is an issue.

I have conti tkc-80 up front and a motoz tractionator on rear. What better tires could I get
Didn't catch what tires you're riding but probably had everything to do with it
Shinko 705s. Definitely not the ideal sand tire. The weight was tough to manage for sure

@@tinkerbike2510 probably what ill get too when I do.
@@tinkerbike2510I’ve had 705s and they’re at best “80/20” - not nobby enough for sand or mud. Okay for packed gravel but still slide a bit.
You are not riding a Cadillac! Let some air out of them tires and this kind of riding is as easy as off-roading gets.
