    That thing sounds angry. I love it. Also, love the "improvise, adapt and overcome" on the fuel line. Not having the proper tool or part, and watching you figure out how to deal with that is one of the biggest reasons I stuck around, all those years ago, my friend. Another excellent vid. Hope Penny and yourself are doing well, sir. Shiny side up!

      Hi Jeff, great to hear from you...! I have to say, I thought it was some epic drama, I'm just thankful it didn't catch fire and burn my garage down!! But seriously, liquid gasoline is not as dangerous as we may think, I've had it pour on to a hot exhaust from a mis-placed overflow and boil like water, as we all know, it's the fumes that burn, not the liquid.... Hope you're keeping well and safe at this time, all the very best and thank you for your wonderful support, have a great weekend, D&Px

    Well done Delboy! Sound great! But fuel leaks scare me. Nearly had a catastrophic disaster years ago & learned a lesson = After a rebuild or long lay up never start a bike in the garage & always have the right extinguisher to hand. I just got away with it, but it was far too close for comfort. I could have lost the lot = several bikes, garage & contents.

    It resembles a Bol d'Or bike from the 70's/80's in looks and sounds excellent, reminds me of my CBX6 with 6 into one pipe back in the day, (I still own a 6).

    Damn, what a sound! Sounds like a MotoGP racer :D New harsher noise restrictions in my homecountry of Denmark means that great sounding bikes like this one, is coming to and end. My RSV1000R sounds like a sewing machine now - it's terrible :(

      Hi again Allan, so sorry to hear that, and it is sadly so common to hear that, it's like they are trying to take the soul out of the bikes these days, like you say, damn shame... ride safe buddy, keep smiling!

    • @allansrensen1480

      @@Moonfleet41 Yeah, they are slowly choking us out, bashing us with restriction after restriction - it's terrible. For me personally, the sound of the engine is as big a part of the charm of a bike, as the look it. I love the scream from a 4 cylinder racer hitting 12000 rpm as much as I love the thunderous V2, but now everything sounds like a vacuum cleaner... I hate it man, hate it.

    Option four, drill more holes near the others, might be needed for the M.O.T. depending on your mechanic lol

      I have a local MOT man whom I can work with to fine tune the sound to his satisfaction, so it'll be right!

    Q. Should you pre - lube cylinders before starting up after long time say 3 years or more? I'm talking specifically of CBR 600 RR
    ' cos of fact they don't have cylinder liners and can't be rebored .

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  4 роки тому

      It doesn't hurt to pre-lube the entire engine after so long, drain out the old oil, replace the sump plug, take off the rocker cover and remove the plugs, pour a tablespoon of oil down each plug hole and pour a pint of oil all over the cams, then rotate the engine gently using the back wheel with the transmission in top gear... keep doing this for a few dozen revolutions... Replace the cam cover, top up the oil level to correct level, then spin the engine on the starter with the plugs OUT... this will expel any oil in the cylinders, replace the plugs, and fire it up... good luck with it mate,

    Cool vid, Del. I admire your patience with the fuel hose- I would have been spittin’ and swearin’ to wake the dead! And agree she sounds awesome. BTW, I forget now, what will you be using as a seat? Have a great weekend, both of you! 🏍👍🏍

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Gary, no drama with the hose, it's just the way it goes with old bikes, many years ago I had a tuned GSXR1100 and a float stuck down in the second carb, pouring the contents through the overflow, which vented straight in front of the rear tyre, at the exact moment I accelerated out of a bend... one enormous drift later, I just manged to keep it upright and parked it as a lake of fuel slowly expanded around the hot bike, and it was actually boiling as it poured on the exhaust, never knew you could boil petrol lol... I guess if I'd just run, it wcould have caught fire, but like with all things, keep calm and, act decisively and it was all ok! Same as with this one, reach for the kitty litter tray and find where it's coming from! Have a good weekend too buddy.
