Great job as always Rat Cuz. I'm so happy for you that the bikes close to a MOT and looking forward to seeing what you do with the seat! Lots of love to you both and have a great week, RQ x
Hey Ratcuz, great to hear from you, and yes, almost there, (although every time i try to call it done, i spot something else to be done lol), Hope you safe and well up there in the Highlands, and hope you're getting out for a ride or two now and again.. have a good week you too, and chat soon.. D&Pxx
Loved the spring tools, never seen them before, but no change there, you've show me some stuff that is new a lot. Always cool, looks great. that backing plate looked like it came from over the counter. Thanks :)
Hi Del, interesting to see you using rivnuts for mounting the plate mount. When i`ve used used rivnuts before (thread locking ones), i`ve had times when the thread locks, and spins the steel rivnut in the aluminium capping (due to the nut being stronger than the ally), so used to put a small squirt of adhesive (Araldite or similar) in the hole before squeezing up. If you put the adhesive on the rivnut, the edge of the hole would push it out all over the rivet gun, whereas if you squeeze it in the hole, the rivnut pushes it inside, allowing it to self fillet around the nut body inside the joint.
Never had that one buddy, unless I've failed to collapse the nut enough, they shouldn't need any form of adhesive, certainly by design, if you leave the burr on the inside of the hole (which you have no choice to do with tubing), and make sure you compress it enough, it shouldn't spin... but if the glue works, then it's hardly the wrong thing to do, good thinking bruv!
Simple but effective. Good job. BTW recently gone back to stock bikes because as you mentioned, MOT and also insurance was becoming a pain with the Bobber and cafe racer. I think things are definitely tightening up.
Good job on the radius you filed into the corners before folding it👌🏻 a lot of people wouldn’t know to do that and the part would have a stress point without a radius and may crack.
Hi Del! A great video from you watched just now with our Saturday morning coffee! She’s coming along nicely- the seat will be something to look forward to. MOT here we come! Don’t forget to take us all out for a ride! BTW- Are the schools opening up soon? Just thinking about your own job... Have a great weekend there and stay safe. 🏍👍🏍
Hi Gary, the schools are now officially on "summer holiday" now, (even though they've been closed since March), so none of them go back until September... i guess we'll all get back to some sort of normal by then.!
Delboy's Garage I figured as much- the federal govt here is really pushing the schools to open in the fall. Schools are resisting a bit. Parents aren’t!
Love your videos! However, I'm no expert del....I'm sure you know ALOT more than me! I had a number plate in the same place on my MV Agusta Dragster 800...with 3 inches of travel.. , and in two years, I had to replace 7 number plates 🤣 that will hit the tyre, no doubt!
Hey Del, maybe consider using some Loctite for your license plate holder. Four cylinder bikes are not AS notorious for vibration as something like a single cylinder Supermoto, but I bet that license plate can shake around quite a bit as well.
Just going to add to the many comments of "side mount plates are legal"... absolutely legal in the UK. The issues people have with them are usually that the plate itself is too small, not that it's located to the side. :-/
Brother, you know I admire your work and enjoy your videos, But....You have to put an anti rotation screw or something in that drill press table when drilling sheet metal. Forgive the slap, but I'd hate to see or hear you got helicoptered by a bike part. Stay well.
Hi Joe, you are dead right of course, I sometimes do flyby the pants now and again when getting on with a busy job, so duly noted and will get it done! Thank you for the 'act right' as always.
ooh lovely symmetry! I always kick and scream against side mounts.. Just not my thing because of symmetry OCD.. Peace and love brother 👍🏻☮❤ 1 and 3/4 shifts to go 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤓
Noice del , I have a side mount number plate on my xv950 witch I made and smaller number plate never been pulled for it, I made it out of 3mm steel I kninda went over kill 🤣🤣
The spring punches were a gift from a viewer in the USA, the brand is Spring Tools, and not one I've seen over here, so I can't give you a link, but they're clearly available so perhaps a search will turn some up!
It's widely understood that you don't wear gloves when operating machines, easiest way to get yer hand dragged into the wheel when the glove gets caught... and with oil, waste oils are pretty poisonous, if i have any recent nicks or cuts, i glove up to prevent infection.!
I know you want the bare metal look so how about a coat of laquer over all the bare steel parts. Stop them rusting when it rains. Do it now before the rust starts and you won't have to get rid of it later.
Yes indeed mate, mostly from losing the factory exhaust!... and the plastic itself was insanely heavy for that it was... and the tail's about half the size, so does feel a lot lighter!
Thought you were putting a custom seat from that place that makes them(forgot the name) on the bike or does it run too costly, otherwise damn fine job on that bracket
Poor old Kev is booked round the block for weeks these days.. partly my fault maybe lol. but for now i have another plan, and it's way more radical.. he'll be doing the Triumph seat though, and if i book it in now, i recon ill be ok for next Autumn.. !
Thanks buddy, I don't know what brand the riveter is, got it from Machine Mart, but it's an un-branded item, it does the job ok and haven't worn it out or stripped any of the applicators yet!
No offence mate , but holding a piece of tinplate with your bare hands whilst you drill holes is just asking for trouble !. If you drill it without clamping, at least hold it with mole grips and a glove too. Cutting with the angle grinder and no gloves either..........
Good stuff! That shopping trolley at the front though...
Love the Friday night Delboy fix! Finish work, dinner, shower, whiskey poured and away we go!
Thanks mate, enjoy!
looks great man. I like those inserts you used. very nice.

Great job Del, looks good mate. Getting close to riding the wastelands. Penny and you have a great weekend mate, stay safe. Cheers
Thanks, you too mate, good to hear from you.. !

Thanks Tony, great to make your own parts aye.. have a good weekend mate.
Perfect solution. Simple and well made. Thanks for the video.
Simple and straight forward....definitely the right call!
Hi Allen, good to hear from you sir, hope you're having a good weekend.
She's coming along nicely.
I would love to see you fabricate a set of springers one day, even if its not for a particular bike at that time.
The back of that bike looks absolutely awesome.
Gute Arbeit, sieht Top aus Del.

Then you take out the James Bond tools, and I melt again, what a beauty work. what a beautiful day.
Another cracking job Del, can't wait to see the end product! I'll be watching every video 👍🏻👍🏻
I can’t believe my package hasn’t arrived yet. Just crazy. All the best Del!
NO sign yet buddy, ill keep you posted the moment it arrives.. >;0
Well made mate..looking forward to the end result. Not long now👍👍
And Templates for All!!
That’s the ticket.
Sharp ole Busa!
The mrs thought i was watchin some kinda snuff movie (how her warped mind works bless her chainlink socks) great vid 👍
Only caught a few minutes of this, im at work il catch the rest later tonight. Looking good 🤘😎
I dont think you have enough bends and angles on this bracket....lolol...and its absolutely robust enough..for a tie down point ! Looking great sir.
Simple but effective. Good job. BTW recently gone back to stock bikes because as you mentioned, MOT and also insurance was becoming a pain with the Bobber and cafe racer. I think things are definitely tightening up.
Naah, no surrender mate, there's always a way to make it work, if i had to ride stock bikes, sell up and buy a truck.!
Happy Fridel, fantastic bit of fabrication again mate
Good job on the radius you filed into the corners before folding it👌🏻 a lot of people wouldn’t know to do that and the part would have a stress point without a radius and may crack.
Cheers mate, old school fabrication mandates aye. !
Great sir..a little task takes more time..but realy great creation your brain is.....🙏👍👍👍🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Brilliant work as always Del
Woo hoo, nearly ready to set her loose 👍🏻 Hope you both enjoy the weekend 😀
Sure thing mate, not long now.. have a good weekend too mate, keep safe.. D&Px

Always a pleasure to watch your fabrication del
Great job, but i do miss the writing at the end, day x "inspirational text".
The more I see of this bike the more I like it.
Love your videos! However, I'm no expert del....I'm sure you know ALOT more than me! I had a number plate in the same place on my MV Agusta Dragster 800...with 3 inches of travel..

Take that back, just watched until the end, and realised you out it at an angle! I was wrong! Told you....you know more than me haha
Nice! I really enjoy your videos

Beautifully 'framed'.
Cheers Alfie, have a great weekend mate.
Looks good..cheers
Watch spellbound, as a rather square Dorset plate succumbs to yet another deliciously Toblerone inspired round tuit! : ) x
Great job del looking good..
ooh lovely symmetry!
I always kick and scream against side mounts.. Just not my thing because of symmetry OCD..
Peace and love brother 👍🏻☮❤
1 and 3/4 shifts to go 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤓
Not long now brother, and a long week (and a bit) off to dig the garden and do all them jobs she been listing you your time off..!! P&L Bruv... D&Pxx

@@Moonfleet41 🤣🤣 I am waiting for it but it will be worth it 🤣🤣
Great video stay safe 🇬🇧👍🏻
Very Good. Congrats.
Good video del, where can I get some of those spring tools punches and chisels?
The spring punches were a gift from a viewer in the USA, the brand is Spring Tools, and not one I've seen over here, so I can't give you a link, but they're clearly available so perhaps a search will turn some up!
Delboy's Garage thanks buddy all the best mate 👍
Nice rear end Dell👍
I just want to see how much weight has been added with all the extra metal, get a standard busa and weight them both!
Took more off than ive put back on so far..!
More nice fab work, Del. Simple and effective. How long will a sheen of WD-40 stop the rust bloom from making an appearance?
Hopefully not more than a week, looking forward to the patina beginning!
Looks good a like it❤️
Most excellent job👍
slick job
Del's an inspiration for all of us 👏🏼
looks good
Never seen a springy hole punch before! Where have I been? 😀
I've got one !!
just a normal punch !
sorry, I'll get my coat 👍🏻☮❤
Tidy job del
How do you make it look so straight forward class work again
Practice and a good eye.
Nice mate 👍 what happened to the diamond cutting wheels ? Can’t beat a 1mm cutting disc 😀😀hope your both well
You wear gloves for changing oil, but no protection while grinding, how come?
Don’t know Dels’ reasons. For me the same because of loss of gripp and ultimate slippage.
It's widely understood that you don't wear gloves when operating machines, easiest way to get yer hand dragged into the wheel when the glove gets caught... and with oil, waste oils are pretty poisonous, if i have any recent nicks or cuts, i glove up to prevent infection.!
@@Moonfleet41 I'm talking about your angle grinder, not machines per-se. Most information on safe use out there instructs to wear leather gloves.
@@popscyclep8084 never had this
Lmao, his old school like that, I told the Mrs I would be licking my fingers every few sceonds

Why would I wanna stop it rusting mate, it's a 'wasteland' project, bring on Mother Nature!!
Nice work Del . I assume the bike has lost weight over the stock Busa, does it feel significant when you are pushing it around the workshop ?
Yes indeed mate, mostly from losing the factory exhaust!... and the plastic itself was insanely heavy for that it was... and the tail's about half the size, so does feel a lot lighter!
Delboy's Garage 👍 the best part is the rear light/ tail , love it
nice one.

Thanks buddy, I don't know what brand the riveter is, got it from Machine Mart, but it's an un-branded item, it does the job ok and haven't worn it out or stripped any of the applicators yet!
That isn't a stainless exhaust right? Just Chrome? Because mine is stainless and I just cringed when you touched it with your bare hands. LOL!
Nearly there!
hey Del, do you not need a reflector where you get your mot done
everytime i take mine i need to find one
Ill stick a sticky backed one on the plate on the day mate.. have a good weekend.
@@Moonfleet41 yeah that's what I do, it's always gone by next mot, you have a good weekend too!!!
Nice...
Tidy!
Would it be bad to like the video before watching it?
Not at all, it's a token of trusted appreciation.!
A bit like lending an old mate your cricket box.
Not on this vlog. Always interesting/entertaining!
Del-Yeah!!
Delboy's Garage
Right On!
Keep up the quality of work and craftmanship Del and Penny. The Internet has Spoken lmao
What on earth happened to this humble home mechanic ? I guess same old same old, lots of veiws , cash. Com 😕
Not allowed to better myself then no?
Fabrication Friday, fantastic, my favourite :-)
Perfect

Not quite, couple of years to go yet!
