First time doing it ever, took 2 hrs thanks to your video. Priced at local garage for $600. Cost me $45 in parts, $5 of which for an 8mm socket I didn't own. Many thanks.
wonder if that is where mine is leaking at. I'm loosing coolant and I doubt its in the head, not the heater core. Not sure where its leaking at with crud all over the engine. cleaned off around the heater block and the housing and I should see where its leaking at.
Just replaced the engine block heater CM5Z-6A051-A (leaking too) in the back of the engine for a Plug W701548-S437. The engine block heater is behind the exhaust manifold when you open the hood to your right. Check it!

I know this is an older video, but it’s exactly what I need. Just to clarify, this is the 2.5 L 4 cylinder? Also Im assuming my thermostat is failing because my heat is not very hot. It blows hard but not hot.
Thanks man, great video, I am gonna replace mine later this year. I just have a few questions that would help me out: 1. Why did you change the thermostat, was it stuck open or closed? 2. How much did the OEM thermostat cost? 3. How old is the car/how many miles did it last? My ST is 8 years old, with 60k miles on it.
This is my buddies car. I dont exactly remember why he wanted it replaced. I believe it was just something he wanted swapped out to know there is new one installed. Nothing was going on with it sticking open or closed. He ordered it from Rockauto. And on there theres many different brands to choose from. All depends on budget. 2014 and the car had 117k miles.
@hyr0llr thank you very much for the information. I also just wanna replace mine, even though nothing is wrong with it. I wanna drive the car to Zimbabwe through Botswana, so I definitely want it as reliable as it gets. I have to get mine from the dealer, so it is gonna be pricey 👀. I am glad they last that long. Take care man and keep making more cool videos.
I've replaced the radiator reservoir the ac compressor the belt and the sensors there is no code but it keeps overheating someone told me to change the thermostat but I don't have a code for it and the radiator fan is also new could it be the radiator itself
It's an ST, manual transmission only. This vehicle is not bad, the transmission is not "faulty", if you have the ST version, and your transmission is torn up it because someone didn't know how to drive a manual transmission. It's an easy swap, take it to a transmission shop and not a "mechanic". Mechanics at alot of shops don't want to deal with transmissions because they get paid by the job and transmissions can be alot of work if you don't know what's wrong with it.
Love love love my manual transmission focus. Has been my lowest maintenance vehicle I've owned. Hitting that 200k mark. Hope she keeps on chugging along.
Thanks for the video. What were your symptoms? On my 2014 I randomly overheat. I've replaced the radiator fan with a new OEM Ford one that included a new controller. Relays fuses and all work. It just randomly overheats. No codes or anything.
I’m having the same issue. I was thinking the thermostat. Mine will overheat, warning light says to stop the vehicle, before I can get all the way pulled over temp will return to normal. Anyone have this problem?
its possible yes. you'd have to figure out if just the sensor is faulty. if the sensor is reading good, then yes, its possible the thermostat is sticking.
Thanks for the video this was a very frustrating spot to work on, your little tricks saved me lots of headaches

Hello, have a list of the tools by change? Great video. Thank you

Great video! But I’m wondering if you filled the radiator and not just the reservoir!😂 I’m sure you did but I did notice that
Great video though

Thermostat is probably the fault if yu have a new radiator installed.
This car is really bad, the transmission is faulty and many mechanics don’t wanna put their hands on

No symptoms. My buddy(his car) just wanted this done as preventative maintenence.
Did you find out what was the cause of your random overheating? I have a similar issue
I’m having the same issue. I was thinking the thermostat. Mine will overheat, warning light says to stop the vehicle, before I can get all the way pulled over temp will return to normal. Anyone have this problem?
Nope. Sold car sorry guys.
@@chrissmith3895I’ve got the exact same issue, and have also replaced the fan and ensured relays work. Did the new thermostat solve your issue?
I have a p0128. Would this resolve the issue?

@@hyr0llr ok, because everything is functioning normally, no overheating. Air comes out hot..
Say brother did you have to replace the thermostat on that code?
@@DavidMartinez-hw3nzI got the same code today on my mother-in-law’s Ford focus. Does it have to be replaced completely or the sensor is bad?
I have the same code but all is running well. Temps are normal and no leaks. Any suggestions?
make it look so easy
Its not too bad overall.
