Fendt 818 - Drawing soil

- Spending a few months in New Zealand. Never drove a fendt before, or even cvt tractors in general so I'm still a bit new to it.
On this run in the video is the run I discovered the transmission braking so that is why I am so severe on it. I know it's a quick way to shorten the lifespan of your transmission and so in the runs after this one I only use it lightly (ie. I don't let the engine rev out like I did here).
More videos of NZ to come. I've a tedding video recorded in a 7615 dyna-6 (the one that drives past as I'm being loaded in the video) but I've no way of editing the 3 clips together so that one will have to wait. - Авто та транспорт
Great video Wayne nice to see a bit of footage in New Zealand is it summer time over there? Also something I heard about the fendts is many people dont take them out of feildmode when on the road and is not good for the transmission
Yeah it's the other way around. They don't take them out of the high geared road range when they go into the field. Puts severe pressure on the hydraulic pump and motor setup I would imagine.
Yeah the summer silage will kick off here shortly. Seasons are flipped north and south of the equator or something like that.
Thanks for the comment 👍
Great video and thanks to give us the sound and not putting music over it like everyone else does
Thanks, I'm not a fan of the music either myself. I have some more videos taken, just need to upload them when I have time
Best of luck in NZ
Thanks 👍
well done lad are you enjoying it over their
Hit and miss. Some days it's ok and most days i want to go home. Early to say yet if I'll come a second time but i doubt it.
Proper fendt there lad😎
Yeah a nice one
@@WayneMescal how you liking Nz? I don’t think I’m far from you at all, I work for Austin’s, they’re on the far side of Te Awamutu from ye lads
@@northwestagri920 oh jesus you're here too 😅 yeah te awamutu is only 7 minutes in the car. Liking the driving side of it away, just the working with other people in a workshop I was never any good at. I'd tip away by myself but don't like working with others in a workshop setting.
@@WayneMescal Aye we’re about 10 mins the far side. Be all go again when the weather starts to play ball 😎
@@northwestagri920 for sure. They keep telling me it gets busy quick. You been here before?
Are the fendts very comfortable also do you find them better then any other tractor?
Comfortable enough. I prefer new hollands, they are easier to fix and I like powershift gearboxes.
@@WayneMescal I only drove a powershift for 1 day contracting this summer, but still twas hard to go back!!
@georgeguiney3454 When you're so used to one it takes a few minutes get yourself recalibrated and remember to use the clutch and things 😅
@@WayneMescal haha yeah, honestly the big difference is on the long days, the tractor I was usually driving had the gearstick awful far I nearly had to stand up to change gears so I missed it bad lol
@georgeguiney3454 ooooooh I get you now. I thought you normally drove a vario and you went back to a powershift for one day. Aaaah so you normally drive a manual box but went up to powershift for a day I seeee.
I like the old stuff myself too, both my tractors are 34 years old so I'm well used to gear levers myself. I'm a big believer in the ford 10 series gearbox I think it's quite good.
