  • Not my setup, I was just driving that's all. I'd say the camera lens is a small bit dirty too unfortunately but nothing I can do about that now.
Grand Ford to be honest, would be a nice tractor with a bit of tidying. Higher spec than my own one, this one has twin assistor rams on the lift and the in-cab selectable pto like a 40 series. All the warning stickers on the inside of the cab are in French which is interesting and also the number plate of this tractor is very very similar to my own. Both are 90-CE-4xxx and less than 300 apart in registrations. Be nice to own the pair being so close 😅 I found in my local scrapyard a little Case, a 744 or something like that it was and it's registration was bang on match to my Ford only the very last digit was like 3 off.
After using both 7810's on wrappers now I do think the main hydraulic pump on my own is worn out or maybe even both pumps. Tractor is up over 9000hrs now. The 7810 in this video I think would have less hours than my own too, the dash is munted on it but the clutch pedal has more grip on it and the gears are tighter. I'd say it has a ceramic clutch fitted as well, it's very much like an on/off switch whereas mine with the standard organic clutch is smoother to engage as it would slip a little more. So anyway, the pump, it's been pressure tested at the spools and only putting up like 1200/1300psi on tickover and up to like 1800 when revved. Enough to drive the baler and things but the lift isn't very responsive while tedding or raking with the rotonde. So feck it....job for next year....
Now...the wrapper...it's a Conor joystick wrapper. Don't know the age or anything. It is harder to use than the McHale I will say. Not in the sense of the joystick or anything, the controls are similar although the joystick does go 4 ways in this, not like the McHale one which only goes 3 ways because you can't pull it back. It's harder to use like the arm doesn't fold up as much as the McHale one, it's harder to throw the bale "up the hill" on a sidelean and if you try to throw the bale "down the hill" on a sidelean, it's not very forgiving and it'll fire the bale clean off the other side of the wrapper and break the return spring to reset the cut and hold on it's way over. Ask me how I know 🙄 The table on a Mchale is deeper, it won't let the bale fall off the other side as easy, and if it ever did, there's no spring to break. It works off an accumulator which is facing downwards so it shouldn't get damaged if anything rolls over the far side. And I reckon the table is that bit wider on the McHale as well, it's not often a bale will fall on the cones on that one but this one you've to be pretty spot on every time. Last little bitchery about the Conor wrapper is the way the cut and tie works. It shoots the cut and tie across automatically when you tip the bale off. The problem is if you start to tip the bale off but let it fall back down for a second again just to adjust the spin of the table so the tail of wrap is in the right place, that cut and tie has already shot across and won't reset and there's no way to manually tell it go back. So that means when you tip it the second time it can't cut the wrap and you've to jump out and tie it by hand. And the space to catch the tail of wrap isn't as wide as the McHale either, you've to be pretty spot on with that too every time.
But really these are only small problems, you're not long getting used to it. It wraps bales and is well able to keep up with your standard round baler. I'd say it's been fairly reliable over it's life too because I never heard the guy give out about it and spare parts shouldn't be far away, Conor engineering is in the same county as us so that's not so bad.

Yeah going again, in the process of visas. Bit trickier this year, not as simple to get as a working holiday visa. They want proof of job offer, proof there's no nz resident that can be found to do the job, proof of funds to live off, and other bits and pieces.
Still haven't found anything better to do in the winters here. Did 3 lorry lessons recently but I'll be gone to nz by the time I get a date for test so I'll continue on with lorry lessons and things next spring.

@@seanh8375 If the Same is driving and the weather is good I will. I'm waiting for a guy to come help me bleed the clutch and brakes on the tractor. It's fully back together other than that small little job.

Not yet 😥 I will get a cab view video of it doing something this year for sure, I'm going to be very annoyed with myself if I don't. Waiting on some help to get the last little bit done on it. Might be driving by the end of the week I hope.
