I always adore a Mcfly live, especially of Red (love it on their demos record, but it's got SO MUCH more to it live - their music is wonderful in every format, but they absolutely decimate when playing live). This is probably my favorite recording of the song they've done so far. They play around a lot in the rock genre, but especially love to dip into a few pockets in particular - after a while you can hear those influences/preferences in most of their songs. The country and pop flavoring/structuring are definitely one of their musical through-lines.
This was part of the Lost Songs albums which was songs they never released. 5 colours in her hair is probably their most popular, with all about you not too far behind imo
Surprisingly this song was never “officially” released (which is complete bullcrap IMO) This was supposed to be a part of their 6th album which was never finalised and got scrapped, 7 years later they released the handful that were completed alongside the demos of the others- RED is one of the demos It’s a great demo- but you can tell it’s a demo It is very much a fan favourite though
