Estonian resident here: The line right now has an average speed of about 80 and running non electric since there are electrification works currently undergoing. The line will also be upgraded so the max speed will increase to 160, if I'm not mistaken.
3:20 I'm Portuguese but I live in Estonia and this is one of the many things that Estonia does better than Portugal... Portugal uses Iberian gauge which is even wider than Russian - but our trains take no advantage of this.
Just for your information, you can buy tickets onboard the trains, we do not have ticket offices as such, there are although service desks at Balti jaam and Tartu station if you for example lose something:) --- You might also question the fact that you can clearly see an electrified line to Narva (or at least to Tapa) but you're still on a diesel train... that's due to the line currently being electrified aka under construction, it will also receive a speed upgrade from 120 to 160kmh making the journey even faster;) --- New Škoda 21Ev trains start service next year so much to look forward to aswell:) Although Stadlers on top any time😅 --- Great video😊💪
Hello. Thank you for the informations, good to know👌 we pass by estonia next year so maybe will be lucky to meet new Škoda. When exactly it will start?

@Letsgobyland Škodas will start between Tallinn and Tartu late summer 2025 or autumn at the latest. On the Narva line they will start around 2027 when the electrification + upgrades have been completed.
The line has just started undergoing electrification work which includes straightening out some corners, so it’s able to go 160km/h (and potentially top speeds of 200km/h in future since it’s generally a very straight track).
@@warmike yes we checked that option too but there was nothing there that would suit us, and we didn't know how long we would be at the border, so the easiest option was to take the bus. Maybe on the way back 👍

Thank you very much. There are 5 direct trains per day between Tallinn and Narva.
@Letsgobyland İvangorod-St.Petersburg arası tren seferleri oluyor mu?

@@henrikmanitski1061 great. Thanks for letting us know👍
🚂💙
Stadler FLIRT can reach top speeds between 120 and 200 km/h, so an average speed of 80 km/h for that trip is rather sad.
hope in the future it will reach more!

@Taevas___ Cool!
@Taevas___ good!
No more ER2's and DR1A's in Estonia?
In my opinion, Tallinn is one of the most beautiful European capitals.
Unfortunately ER2 and DR1A are not there anymore. They finish around 2015 i think. Also missed them. Yes Tallinn is a nice city for sure👌
@LetsgobylandMy last visit was in 2006!

@@gerardvanteeffelen8437 oh thats long time ago 😅 but then you could see them. Mine first visit was around 2018 i think
why didn't you take a bus to St. Petersburg?
We took a bus to st.petersburg after we crossed the borders. To narva we wanted to take a train
@Letsgobyland why not a train to Saint-Petersburg too?
@@warmike from narva or tallinn there is no train at the moment
@Letsgobyland from Ivangorod (which is the same town as Narva, but on the Russian side) there are trains to Saint-Petersburg.

Estónsko je proste nádherné.
