I like your version. The series by Disney was poor and I agree pretty much with everything you said as to why. Whether the pandemic was in any way responsible for the messy writing, production etc I don't know. The basic error was cramming too many storylines in and having no depth or sense of journey to them, resolutions to each coming quickly and too easily.
As always, excellent overview of what I feel was a show that really didn't need to be made. Firstly, Boba has gone completely soft in this series for some reason (likely because Disney is terrified of literally any character besides a main antagonist feeling slightly unlikeable) Due to this, we get some really weird, out of character dialogue from Boba, unclear plot motivations like just letting the wookie assassin go (That was a good idea), or lowering oneself straight into a sarlaac pit which we've seen close before. Honestly, besides the writing issues you mentioned such as Boba Fett hardly being in his own show, my main two problems were direction and complete lack of stakes. Disney has this thing they do now where villains don't do cruel things on camera anymore, or kill anyone close to the hero, ever. In the finale I literally checked and not a single member of freetown or Boba's "Crew" was killed, not one. It's as if the company is desperately trying to hold onto this family friendly image and it's really beginning to show in the work. Lastly, the shot choice is these episodes, primarily the ones directed by Robert Rodriguez are rough to say the least. There's this one scene of Cad Bane ripping Boba's helmet off in the finale that's literally covered from 5 angles. That tells me that at least for his episodes, there were no storyboards and they just set up six cameras and called it a day, deciding to worry about it in the edit later. There's no scene geography established either, of which a couple of wide shots would instantly fix. Finally, that finale was a bit of a joke coming from a multi-billion dollar company. You know how movies like Last Crusade and Two towers had pockets of action within the larger battles, like when Aragorn and Gimli have to sneak behind the uruk-hai or the pen gag with Indy's father inside the tank? This finale is literally 40 minutes of people shooting each other with aggressive looks on their faces, zero tension, and nothing creative going on outside of it. Hopefully Deborah Chow, who's directing the Kenobi show and had no involvement in this one understands these common pitfalls and avoids making her show literally look like a student film sometimes. All in all, episode 5 when the starfighter got introduced was top-tier Star Wars from a tonal and action perspective, so when I saw that Bryce Dallas Howard had directed it, I audibly clapped in my chair. I always try and guess who directs the episodes while their playing, so if there's random cutting going on and nothing visually interesting I'm often right in my prediction for Rodriguez and so on. In any event, fantastic editing and script-work here as usual and keep up the good work. (I can completely relate to the advent of explaining Clone-Wars lore to my parents as well. If your show doesn't make sense without a heap of background media, your show doesn't work). -Redfish Blue Films (Real name is Peter by the way, in case that works better)
I completely agree with you Peter! I really thought Star Wars had turned a corner with the Mandalorian but the book of boba fett just feels like a bunch of fans made it without any really thought.
@@gatsby798 Couldn't have said it better myself; I yearn for the day Disney's products start to look professional : ) (From People other than Bryce Dallas Howard, that is, she's got other stuff to do)
Great video! The Closer Look did a great video on this too. I hung onto this show, but it never got better. They are expecting the audience to care about random extended universe characters but not bothering to introduce them to the audience first. Oh, and the best thing to come out of this show was the Polynesian spa meme!
I don't see the point of Boba taking over a criminal syndicate in the original or a rewrite, I would like to see him focus more on 'no more working for skugholes'. There is already the Bounty Hunter's Guild, but I would have preferred if this guild was something fairly new and had actually been started by Boba in this series so that it has only been around a year or two by the point of Mandalorian season 1. Have Boba found the guild by promising the bounty hunters of the galaxy an organziation where they will never be betrayed by a contractor, never be turned into personal security of crime bosses who can't protect themselves, and can operate in broad daylight as a 'legitimate' business. This gives definitive reason for so many crime syndicates to hate him personally if he is making their hired guns choose a better source of employment, gives a new direct connection to Mando as mando's livelihood is tied indirectly to Fett, and allows us to amass a small army of the most famous and powerful bounty hunters in the galaxy I want Krrsantan and Bossk to have a story line, I want Shand to be more than just a life debt, and I want Bane to have no philosophical disagreement with Fett but have him not want to trade one kind of pay master for another and choose to work indepenently- which means still choosing to turn against Fett and his hunter army because the price was right. The giant droidekas were awesome, no denying that, and riding the rancor to fight them was great. But I want that army of bounty hunters to not be given so much trouble by random no name mooks with weapons but to have Bane single handedly take out many of the army on his own. There also needed to be some space warfare, because what good are a Naboo Starfighter and the Firespray if there are no ships to fight? What is the point of an intergalactic crime war if you just pay civilians to fight on foot? This series deserves at least 2 parts- How Boba got out, got great warriors on his side, and founded the Guild. Then events taking place AFTER regaining his armor and meeting Djarin where the Syndicate War wages and the Guild starts losing its business when they realize if you don't work for the skugholes, there is no one left to pay for murder and abduction.
For me If we we're allowed to bring in legends/new characters I'd agree to Bossk, Dangar and Durge as well as his wife and daughter to really bring in the "family" for hence crime family then while that's happening have Fennec recruit the Shadows, and his wife to contact any journeymen protectors to join. Then hire Hondo or his successor for extra muscle and build up a actual army
I would have aired the first 2 episodes at the same time and have all the tusken bacta flashbacks done with by the end of episode 2, where Boba would finally awaken. Would have made the tusken a bit more likeable, by not having them starve their slaves. Also, they would not all die. 3rd episode would have been Boba going around being a badass and showing he is the new big boss. Pykes would appear here as the only faction resisting. Maybe a scene where they say many contacted bounty hunters refused to go up against Boba Fett. Except one. 4th epsiode would have huge Pyke reinforcements arriving. Boba being ambushed, facing some real opposition, until other known bounty hunters coming to his aid: Aurra Sing, Sugi, Embo, Bossk, Mando, whomever was on friendly terms with Boba and they could animate with their budget. They would say they were offered his bounty but refused, and thought he would need some help. Also Cad Bane appearing on the Pyke's side. 5th episode would be Boba planning and starting the assault on the Pyke base or ship and their amassed mercenary army. As reinforcement, a huge group of tusken would arrive, from several clans, to aid Boba and face the Pykes that have been murdering them. A little bit more exposition between Cad Bane and Boba. Maybe a mention of their previous showdown. 6th episode would be the big battle. Every BH would get a moment to shine, not just Boba and Mando. After Tatooine is taken, Boba and his allies would plan on expanding. because it was never about Tatooine. Overall, I would have focused more on Boba being a badass, not a clumsy old man, and less on Fennec stealing the spotlight. Would have introduced the Pykes earlier as a long-term rival of the tusken. Would have focused more on Boba's old circle and less on Mando and Luke.
Right there with the dad thing, mine read a few old books and ends up having his own ideas that don't sti'll fit. Plus the whole legands and new cannon keeps me from interest in comics.

It is kind of funny before the I watched the Attack of the Clones, I thought Boba Fett's real name was Jester Mael, but, George Lucas didn't want to use it because it was in the book, and I don't know if it sits well with the new generation or not but that's for another time ..
Since you did an rewrite of Book of Boba, is it possible you would consider doing rewrites of TCW and Rebels? Since that's mostly where the whole Star Wars not letting it's characters die or drag their story for far too long really started. Though I'd completely understand if that's not something you'd want to do.
Possibly, my main interest is Star Wars. It’s the franchise I have the most knowledge about so would quite like to keep making videos on Star Wars. I don’t particularly have much knowledge on Marvel and DC (I only have a lot of knowledge on spider-man and the Batman universes because they’re the only ones I really like) so I try and avoid making videos on them. Have made a few in the past and didn’t enjoy making them. But would love to return to the clone wars and look at what episodes are important, which ones aren’t and see if they missed out anything important.
I agree with Boba wearing his helmet more, being a little more aggressive, and cutting out the "mods" characters. I disagree with the idea that Clone Wars is a "kid" show and that CW cameos are a bad thing. It should be easy enough for people who don't watch it to follow along. I think if you watched Clone Wars or not you can agree, Cad Bane was a sweet addition to the show, he was killed off WAY too fast though. When you talk about how Filoni will fix the sequel trilogy like he fixed the prequels, here's my problem with that. The prequels are already awesome! The Clone Wars just fleshed it out. Like the other Jedi, like Kit Fisto and Plo Koon, they get to have stories, etc. The sequels are a whole other story. The sequels era can be made better, but the sequels themselves will probably stay divisive because of how they handled Luke, Palpatine, etc. Another thing about the sequels, there is no Boba, no Kit Fisto, and so on. We didn't really get anybody interesting. I guess we could flesh out the Knights of Ren? But they just get obliterated by Kylo anyway. I guess we could flesh out Phasma? They could say she survived having her helmet cracked then falling in an explosion. They could potentially make a Clone-Wars-like animated series that takes place during the sequel era and focus on all new characters. Ahsoka debuted in CW and now she is a fan favorite. They could also add to current characters. Finn, for example, the most interesting part of his character journey didn't even happen yet, becoming a Jedi! This is partially wishful thinking on my part. On one hand, I really don't like the sequels. On the other hand, I really like Clone Wars, so maybe they can work some magic and help make the entire saga more cohesive and enjoyable overall.
Yes Cad bane was one of the great additions in the clone wars! I agree that the prequels are awesome but at the time the prequels had a bad reputation it’s only fairly recently more and more people have decided “you know what the prequels ain’t that bad” because of shows like clone wars, the prequel memes etc. I do like aspects of the clone wars but I was looking at it from the perspective of my dad. It’s easy for me knowing who cad bane is because I’ve watched the clone wars, but my Dad shouldn’t have to watch 7 seasons to get a better understanding of a character who appears for 5 minutes or so and dies. I guess the resistance show (which I’ve not seen) may have fleshed out characters like phasma and that but I can see the Mandalorian going into palatines return because the sequels explained it so badly. They will also probably try show why Luke became what he was in the last Jedi a little better too. I appreciate what filoni has done with the clone wars, I’m not saying when he’s trying to fix the prequels it’s a bad thing. It’s just I can just see them doing again to try and fix the sequels. Anyways thanks for commenting! :)
That seems like a really cool rewrite. I did initially like Book of Boba Fett, I became more critical towards the show and became to dislike it. The Boba Fett in Book of Boba Fett is not the same Boba Fett that Darth Vader singled out in Empire Strikes Back by saying “No disintegration’s.” While you do have some really cool ideas, I have been thinking of some ideas of my own. One big one if removing Boba Fett entirely. Ive decided for Boba Fett’s fate post Return of the Jedi, he would have escaped the Sarlacc pit and vowed to get revenge of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. However Han eventually kills him in a canon comic or novel. Meaning he would potentially not show up in The Mandalorian season 2 and Fennec Shand would be the one to encounter Mando on Torraband. The focus of the show in a rewrite Ive been brainstorming is Fennec Shand. She would be the main character. It would be centred around her killing Bib Fortuna with Mando’s help and assuming Jabba the Hutt’s throne. In terms of everything to do with the Tusken Raiders, as I really loved how the show fleshed out the Tusken Raider’s culture, I’m incorporating that into a potential back story I have in mind for Fennec Shand. She would be part of a Tatooine moisture farming family. However one night, her parents got killed by Jabba the Hutt’s men. When she went out into the desert to get help, she gets attacked by a creature. She gets rescued by a tribe of Tusken Raiders and finds out her parents had died and she is orphaned. So the Tusken Raiders take her in and raise her as one of their own. These are just very rough ideas.
I'd rather the Book of Boba Fett just not existing And have Boba has a character in The Mandolorian. Have him betray Mando and become the villain, because he's Boba Fett
Also, if you're interested, the next episode in my Boba Fett Series (Of which handles a character a bit differently), feel free to check it out if you want (No pressure though)- ua-cam.com/video/OO-IfGZMtEU/v-deo.html
My Personal Rewrite (This was written before the video so sorry if anything is very similar) Although I'm unsure how the episode structure of these Disney Plus series' work due to budget and other factors I won't have a definite number of episodes for this season.Ideally I would want to 12 but at minimum I'd say 9; Wandavision had 9 so why shouldn't this series been capable of 9. My version of the series will have a significant focus on Boba evolving over time and the gang war story will be more sidelined and will simply be in place to further Boba's development. I would structure the series into 3 parts so it's more like an actual book which the title suggests. The 3 parts will be teenager boba slightly older from TCW,Adult boba in his bounty hunting prime and then the post sarlacc Boba we saw in the series. The purpose/meaning of the series will be based around the life of Boba and how much his life was impacted been a misguided child in the galaxy without a father figure to guide him whilst also showing the life impacts of been raised by toxic and manipulative individual or rather individual. Episode 1-2/9(or 1-3/12): Teenage Boba Fett These Episodes would essentially be the unfinished clone wars arc but with further expansion.Boba will be similar to Clone Wars with a larger enpathis on his wellbeing.Boba will be established to appear brave and fearless whilst having a layer of honor and innocence beneath him. We'll see how how his father still has a significant influence on his life encouraging him to be honourable and still been young having a layer of inocence. This lonely but respectful boy is shattered by the influence of Cad Bane.Cad Bane will be established to the primary antagonist through the full series despite not appearing in all episodes but will still have a haunting presence on Boba.Cad Bane's ruthless and merciless way on bounty hunting and life in general severely affects Boba due to his lack of maturity to truly understand Bane.Boba initially begins to develop an urge to kill Bane due to his lack of empathy to others but Bane's influence creates a real killer instinct inside of him.Boba no longer wants to kill Ban due to his mentality but rather because he wants overthrow Bane to prove himself that he isn't just an useless clone. The same deul happens between the two of them with the new implementations in place.Boba keeps the blaster dint on his helmet as a permanent reminder of who he needs to prove is superior than. Episodes 3-4 (or 4-6/12) These episodes will explore Boba in the prime of his bounty hunting life and will be the classic boba that most imagined him to be.Through these episodes we see how much Bane has influenced Boba essentially transforming the youthful son of Jango into a carbon copy killer which Bane was.Boba is shown to be a ruthless killer and even torturing others just for the sake of his reputation.Boba also always chooses to work independently refusing the help of anyone.Boba Fett has become a notorious name that strikes fear into people's hearts.During these episodes Boba is working for a brand new crime organisation that is just as heartless and selfish as he is. Episode 5:The Tusken Tribe (or episode 7/12) Boba is shown in a flashback to have been druged before been thrown in the sarlacc which explains how he was easily defeated in ROTJ.The poison lasts a continuous amount of time whilst in the sarlacc which makes him rexprience his full life and reconsider what he has become.Boba escapes the sarlacc after a year. Essentially the same as the series with a few changes. When they find boba the tuskens don't hold him like a traditional prisoner but rather keeping him as company showing him respect hoping he'll respect them which he eventually does.Instead of killing the beast in the desert the tuskens tame it and the beast develops a strong bond with Boba.Through the Tuskens welcoming the beast Boba begins learning about how to correct his merciless ways.Boba spends 4 years with the tuskens. Episode 6: Boba finds Fennec/Boba ruling Tattooine/present day (Or Episode 8:finding Fennec and Episode 9:Boba present day/ruling tattooine.) Episode 7: The Ruler of Tattooine (or Episode 9 and 10) Essentially the mos espa storyline but obviously improved which I don't care to develop on too much.Boba would clearly struggle to balance his rage. The major change is that instead of the Pykes been the villains it is the criminal organisation Boba worked for in the bounty hunter boba fett episodes. Episode 8:The Return Of The Mandolorian (Or Episode 11) The episode was perfection and can be incorporated into the themes of the series of honour and fatherhood. The Cobb Vanth/Cad Bane scenes will be added at the end and Vanth would actually die. Episode 9 (12): The Battle Of Mos Espa Boba and crew expect the attack to be at the palace to kill him. Bane reveals he killed the Tusken Tribe Boba is forced due to peer pressure to let Bane sit in the palace to have a civilised conversation with Bane. Bane and Boba both talk about their history and Bane explains that he disappeared because he was proud Boba was there to be a young replacement to fill his place in the galaxy and he explains he is back to relight the killer instinct. The team are caught off guard when the attack happens at mos Espa. The final battle is the same with improved action but Tusken Raiders show up to help The Boba vs Bane fight is the same but now has much more depth and meaning. Boba thanks Din for been a reminder of what he can be become and respects his code of honour Boba then warns Din of the danger that leaving a child can have on their future and explains how his life for 30 years was ruined due to thr absence of his father.Boba also tells him it was in fact the jedi who killed his father which builds tension in his Din's mind. Boba Fett is no longer a name which creates fear but is a name which is a reminder or strength and power. The people of Tattooine chant "Boba Fett" as Boba dramatically puts his helmet on in victory
Boba Fett was a two dimensional villain in the original saga! Lots of fans hoped athat Han Solo would’ve killed him off in return of the Jedi but alas he went an undignified death. I’ve always hated the Boba Fett character… but now that we have a series about a villain who is trying to seek redemption… no one likes it ..and they still want the two dimensional villain. Boring! The problem of the world today? The far left fans love, Star Trek now and the Far Right fans love Star Wars! From what I understand now…is that this series has been canceled. I seriously loved Star Wars back in the 70s and 80s… but I guess it’s time to let it go. ☹️
I have one more suggestion: Include an entire flashback episode about young Boba and Cad Bane.
"The group is ambushed by assassins, but they wouldn't be wielding riot shields because they are assassins... not riot police."

The Boba Fett in Book of Boba Fett is not the same Boba Fett that Darth Vader singled out in Empire Strikes Back by saying “No disintegration’s.”
While you do have some really cool ideas, I have been thinking of some ideas of my own.
I'd rather the Book of Boba Fett just not existing
And have Boba has a character in The Mandolorian. Have him betray Mando and become the villain, because he's Boba Fett
the sarlak give boba a few extra kilos
The sequels can't be fixed.
“Mando gave us the bounty hunter adventures we wanted?” Speak for yourself, not even close. Star Wars Bounty Hunter did that far better.
That’s a game though!
Also, if you're interested, the next episode in my Boba Fett Series (Of which handles a character a bit differently), feel free to check it out if you want (No pressure though)- ua-cam.com/video/OO-IfGZMtEU/v-deo.html
My Personal Rewrite (This was written before the video so sorry if anything is very similar)
Although I'm unsure how the episode structure of these Disney Plus series' work due to budget and other factors I won't have a definite number of episodes for this season.Ideally I would want to 12 but at minimum I'd say 9; Wandavision had 9 so why shouldn't this series been capable of 9.
Episode 1-2/9(or 1-3/12): Teenage Boba Fett
These Episodes would essentially be the unfinished clone wars arc but with further expansion.Boba will be similar to Clone Wars with a larger enpathis on his wellbeing.Boba will be established to appear brave and fearless whilst having a layer of honor and innocence beneath him.
Episodes 3-4 (or 4-6/12)
These episodes will explore Boba in the prime of his bounty hunting life and will be the classic boba that most imagined him to be.Through these episodes we see how much Bane has influenced Boba essentially transforming the youthful son of Jango into a carbon copy killer which Bane was.Boba is shown to be a ruthless killer and even torturing others just for the sake of his reputation.Boba also always chooses to work independently refusing the help of anyone.Boba Fett has become a notorious name that strikes fear into people's hearts.During these episodes Boba is working for a brand new crime organisation that is just as heartless and selfish as he is.
Episode 5:The Tusken Tribe (or episode 7/12)
Boba is shown in a flashback to have been druged before been thrown in the sarlacc which explains how he was easily defeated in ROTJ.The poison lasts a continuous amount of time whilst in the sarlacc which makes him rexprience his full life and reconsider what he has become.Boba escapes the sarlacc after a year.
Episode 6: Boba finds Fennec/Boba ruling Tattooine/present day (Or Episode 8:finding Fennec and Episode 9:Boba present day/ruling tattooine.)
Episode 7: The Ruler of Tattooine (or Episode 9 and 10)
Essentially the mos espa storyline but obviously improved which I don't care to develop on too much.Boba would clearly struggle to balance his rage. The major change is that instead of the Pykes been the villains it is the criminal organisation Boba worked for in the bounty hunter boba fett episodes.
Episode 8:The Return Of The Mandolorian (Or Episode 11)
The episode was perfection and can be incorporated into the themes of the series of honour and fatherhood.
The Cobb Vanth/Cad Bane scenes will be added at the end and Vanth would actually die.
Episode 9 (12): The Battle Of Mos Espa
Boba and crew expect the attack to be at the palace to kill him.
Bane reveals he killed the Tusken Tribe
Boba is forced due to peer pressure to let Bane sit in the palace to have a civilised conversation with Bane.
Bane and Boba both talk about their history and Bane explains that he disappeared because he was proud Boba was there to be a young replacement to fill his place in the galaxy and he explains he is back to relight the killer instinct.
The team are caught off guard when the attack happens at mos Espa.
The final battle is the same with improved action but Tusken Raiders show up to help
The Boba vs Bane fight is the same but now has much more depth and meaning.
Boba thanks Din for been a reminder of what he can be become and respects his code of honour
Boba then warns Din of the danger that leaving a child can have on their future and explains how his life for 30 years was ruined due to thr absence of his father.Boba also tells him it was in fact the jedi who killed his father which builds tension in his Din's mind.
yep luke part is so dum
the Real Bounty Hunter Boba fett
will always deserve Infinite times much better than this nearly useless broken show
and than the Rotten Rat of Disney
1st.
