    NOTE: If you have this device and you are running a 12v battery bank config as your source, and you are having any trouble with the wires getting too hot.....
    Simply run your battery bank (source) in a 24v config instead, and you will drop your amps down to 50% and your heat will drop a HUGE amount in the wires as well.
    12v @ 50a = 600wh -----> (100% current -----> more resistance -----> More heat in the wires -----> higher awg wire needed)
    24v @ 25a = 600wh -----> (uses 50% Less current -----> less resistance -----> Less heat in the wires -----> less awg wire needed)
    48v @ 12.5a = 600wh -----> (uses 75% less current -----> even less resistance -----> Even less heat in the wires -----> even less awg wire needed)
    WARNING !!!!! -----> Do not try the (48v) option with this device (This product can only use up to 30v input !!!!!)
    **THIS IS WHY BATTERY CABLES IN YOUR CAR ARE SO FAT (A HUGE AMOUNT OF AMPS TRAVEL THROUGH THEM !!!!!)
    So you are moving the "SAME" amount of watt hours (power) of what you are trying to charge, with much less heat build up from the higher amps running through the cables, because of that higher voltage. -----> Think of a wider freeway vs a narrow freeway with the same amount of cars (watt hours), or a skinny straw vs a fatter straw with the same amount of soda (watt hours)
    A lot of people still do not understand this when it comes to transferring power :(
    Now if you are running this device from an alternator as your power source, you do not have this option, so you are stuck at the 12v (14v alternator)
    *You could always shorten the cable run to create less heat build up (Lower voltage hates longer cable runs)
    **THIS IS ALSO WHY THE BATTERY CABLES IN YOUR CAR ARE SO SHORT !!!!!
    GOOGLE AI ANSWER.....
    Amps create heat when current flows through a conductor. This is because all conductors have some resistance to current flow,
    and the more amps that flow, the more heat is produced. The higher the resistance of a conductor, the more heat will be generated.
    GOOGLE AI ANSWER.....
    The higher the voltage, the lower the current needed to transfer that same amount of power,
    NOTE: This is why 99% of power station companies are moving to 48v systems and getting rid of the lower voltage systems ;)
    (Less heat, less resistance, less copper, less amps, less money, etc, etc, etc......)
    P.S. Electricity is extremely dangerous and even deadly, so learn all that you can BEFORE you spend your money to be able to use this stuff much safer :)
    (Electricity is like a ship captain at sea, you will learn to work with the ocean, not against it. If you try to fight the ocean, or you will lose every time)

      @RamblinBobReviews if my batteries were 24v 100ah I could do this. My batteries are 12v 100ah. If I run my batteries in series I will have 24v 200ah...Can't do that. I need 400ah

      @RamblinBobReviews ok I get it. Wh stays the same

    • @RamblinBobReviews
      @RamblinBobReviews  2 місяці тому +1

      Now you get it ;)
      Took me a while to understand this when i first started as well :)
      The watt hours are always the same :)

      @RamblinBobReviews yes I was watching ReeWay video. When I first started this all I knew was ah was wh... Didn't know 24v 200ah was the same capacity as 12v 400ah. Duh on me and I am darn good in math. I was just stuck on 200ah = 2460wh and 400ah = 5120wh. I didn't factor in the voltage. But I get it now. I might run 24v but gotta grab an inverter, balancer and some more wires

    • @RamblinBobReviews
      @RamblinBobReviews  2 місяці тому +2

      :)
      And now after doing this, you will drop your amps down by 50% and be able to use your pecron 500w car charger again in the 90f-100f degree range pulling in 24v instead of the crappy 12v :)
      Your heat build up should drop by a HUGE amount in those wires by doing this :)
      P.S. Together, We all help each other learn, so we can all get the most out of this solar power stuff :)
      *This is why we created the scriber family in the first place :)
      P.P.S. Now....Do me a favor please?....Go and find that $150 watt charger on that shelf somewhere, I think that this really is a good product ;)
      P.P.P.S. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!
      P.P.P.P.S. And don't worry.....I have had many "Ah-ha" moments learning this stuff over the last 2 years. I used to lay in bed at night and stare at the ceiling and the brain would just turn and turn and turn....And then, I would yell out loud..... "holly crapzilla, it all makes sense now", "I get it now", "that is so simple"..... at like 4am.....and my wife would say..."shut up and go to bed".......LOL :)

    It's best to shorten your 12v side and lengthen the 48v side as much as you can.

      Yes, we agree 100%
      P.S. This video was made to see how it would work straight out of the box to test it for everybody :)

    Our fire dept handheld radio chargers indicate red until radio battery is fully charged... then turn green. Mayb this is similar. (Just rec'd this charger, btw. THANKS!❤)

    • @RamblinBobReviews
      @RamblinBobReviews  2 місяці тому

      Yes, That is what this does as well :)
      P.S. Also, the blinking red light means that you do not have enough voltage to start charging yet :)

    I looked at the manual. It's odd the manual says nothing about the red/green indicator light.

      Right?
      P.S. But I remember when pecron forgot to put the info for the e2000lfp battery and it started this entire channel ;)
      P.P.S. We wrote an email yelling (nicely) at them to put it in the owner's manual :) LOL

      Do those lock rings come with the DCDC charger?

    • @RamblinBobReviews
      @RamblinBobReviews  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, They were on there when we got ours, just was not too happy that I could wiggle that nut & bolt loose with a little wiggle of the wrist like you saw in that video.....
      P.S. Always test "ALL" connections before you ever use solar power or electricity just to be safe. no matter who made the product, everybody can makes mistakes ;)

    on the ecoflow one they all have to turn the voltage down to like 12.7 and then that one works. if they leave it on 14 it will never work. but it pulls 700 vs 300

    Do you know how many amps that car's alternator is capable of putting out?

    • @RamblinBobReviews
      @RamblinBobReviews  Місяць тому +1

      That alternator puts out 50 amps according to the specs from ford
      50a @ 14v = 700 watts

    • @frankcheney
      @frankcheney Місяць тому

      @@RamblinBobReviews Thanks. I think that may be part of the problem with not getting up to 500 watts. There are other draws from the car using that 50 amps. A more powerful alternator may get you up to the 500 watts of charging.

    • @RamblinBobReviews
      @RamblinBobReviews  Місяць тому +1

      That is why we tried it first on the smallest car we had, because if it works on that, it would work even better on a real car...lol

    In the Smart Car Charger 500 watt manual Warning section number 5 it says “Make sure the car is started before turning on the car charger”. When using my charger I would like to just keep it turned on since as I travel will be stopping and turning engine off to gas up then restarting and driving on and repeat this several times until I arrive at my destination. The charger and your Pecron E1500LFP power station will be in a towed camper that is locked and would be difficult to constantly turning it on and off. Can I just leave charger on until I reach my destinations? Thanks

    • @RamblinBobReviews
      @RamblinBobReviews  2 місяці тому +1

      A warning is a warning :(
      P.S. I have a feeling that you might get a huge power surge from the alternator if you leave the device on all the time, that might be why they say "do not turn it on until you start your car" :(

    i really like this and thinking to get one. however, i am worry about the fan noise becuase i plan to put this at the back of my car.

    • @RamblinBobReviews
      @RamblinBobReviews  2 місяці тому +1

      How could you hear the fan noise while you are driving, if it is in the back of your car?
      NOTE: You would only use this device when you drive your car.....
