Hey stu, just wanted to share my thanks. I was a labourer for the past year and a half after leaving school, I always wanted to get on the trowel but was never given the chance. Finally bit the bullet and approached the owner of a large construction company local to me whilst he was on a site visit to ask about an apprenticeship.. that was 2 months ago now and today I built my first wall in a foundation as an apprentice bricklayer. Your videos were the biggest thing that swayed my decision to pursue this career and made me decide it was the right thing for me in the long run. Cheers and keep up the great work mate 👍🏻
Hello I have a question so this year I began a bricklaying course and it’s been okay so far was and I began looking into construction work in the coming years with A.I potentially replacing hand tasks like these by the year 2050 I’m 16 and want to be sure I’m in a job that will last as long as possible if I do my level 3 NVQ in the up and coming years and basically be as great I can be at what I do a response from an experienced builder would be great :)
Congratulations for showing us how your work is going on in the construction of the house. Hopefully we ask to see this project finished. Kind regards from San Felipe Chile.

Top work, clean and tidy just as it should be. If you want to see the opposite of this check out hendos bricklaying. He thinks it’s acceptable for his brickwork to look like it’s got a scratch coat of render on it when he’s finished. He could learn a lot from watching you mate.
Hiya stu hope you and Kc are doing well. Just a quick question when building a standard size garage. Out of concrete blocks what the rule of thumb on how high you can go with out disturbing the cement if that makes since 👍👍
Hope I may take the liberty to answer your question as well. Here in The Netherlands with ordinary masonary and mortar for both bricks and blocks we go 1 meter in height per day. If you do more, the wall can get unstable as the mortar hasn't hardened sufficiently yet. No difference between block or brickwork as it is the weight on the bottom joint of the day that matters. These days interior walls and the inner skin of the cavity wall are mostly glued. Glueing works a lot faster and you can do a whole floorlevel in a day. Usually in contemporary work only the outer skin of the exterior wall here consists of ordinary masonry with mortar. Hope that is what you were asking for.
mace106 pisses me off aswell they going to pay when you drop your jointing iron down the cavity we have to do face work first then block work after it’s a pain in the arse buy they still want it chucked up just as quick
I think it's in and around Wigan in the North of England. They don't get paid a salary up there, they get as many cups of tea and bacon sandwiches they can eat 🍵🥓 (just joking😊).
@@ilvirabdullin6772 just looking on Internet it says that roughly bricklayers earn about £20 and hour (not sure what that is in Roubles?) But experienced bricklayers can earn up to £52.000 per annum. But it is a hard job (hard on the body, hands, back, arms etc). You can earn £60.000 a year in macdonads if you work 23 hrs a day🤣
I just don’t get the fully filled cavity thing🤔the whole purpose of a cavity is for air to circulate around it and there is definitely bridging of the cavity, you get the first roll of felt on the roof breaking down and water going in the cavity from on top and you got a right mess on your hands😬😬

hi buddy, you can tell me what are the proportions of the mortar, how much cement, how much lime
No lime and very likely a 5 sand to 1 cement ratio for superstructure. Below ground often 4 to 1
Guess it’s to keep a Kleen trowel

How would height affect the quality lol what
