You guys can have the new stuff. I just don’t feel it. I’ve been going back and listening to my favorite’s songs I never heard and I was BLESSED! A literal treasure trove!
This song also reminds me of 1982 the day I was born it was playing in the er room during delivery..I came out dancing and a blue eyed soul brotha..thank you Lord for these amazing men and the music they produced
This song reminds me of my senior year in high school in 1982. Getting ready to graduate and venture off to college. This is a very powerful song. Love the Gap Band.
I can't begin to tell you how much this song means to me. The Gap Band was the first concert I ever went to. And this was the song I sung at my first audition, which landed me a world tour with a famous artist. I got to meet Charlie Wilson and his band the night of the gig. Lovely guys, so full of charisma, who really encouraged me to sing and gave me amazing advice. Now, as a woman, full-grown, this song resonates in a very different way... I love this band. Part of the soundtrack of my life. Jussayin...
I know what your young through brother. I lost mom in 2005, pop in 2008. I bring this up because the more we here the pain that we are going through from others, the less lonely we feel inside. Take care friend, our parents will always be with us.
Yeah, Charlie Wilson and that Gap Band will have you looping their music. I recently met a guy and I just love this song...it's so perfect for how we met. 🥰🥰
The Gap Band’s Gap Band IV album was their biggest selling album which was certified platinum topping the R&B charts and was also a top twenty pop album peaking at number fourteen mainly on the strength of the hit singles Early In The Morning,You Dropped A Bomb On Me and Outstanding. In my opinion The Gap Band IV is truly my favorite all time Gap Band album. Rest in heaven Robert and Ronnie Wilson.
Whenever I hear this I think back to the days when my dad used to blast music on his record player. I used to beg him to play this song over and over again! Good times!
I love this song. I could remember my dad playing this song. This has got to be the best one line song ever. The song basically saying one thing, but saying so much at the same time. I love good music!!!
Since I gave myself back to Christ 07/25/18 and got baptized on this day of my birthday....it's hard Christian dating....but when God send my husband I will play this song for him✝️❤️🤵💃

I was listening to this on the radio today with my 10 year old girl whilst in the car. I was about to turn the radio off as we reached our destination and she was like "mummy leave the radio because i want to listen to the rest of the song". I always make a point of playing the oldies to her so she understands good music. I love the Stevie Wonder line 'if you really love me'.

I was in my early twenties visiting my friend in the Napa valley...I went from a 94 jeep Cherokee to a 77 Cadillac with power everything with red interior ..I could not make it up to go up to the "High Road"....my friend came down and I was able to Mary's pizza shack. I found this old tape of the gap band when I worked for mather AFB . McClellan was shut down then...I was in the national guard...
I was born in okcity, but when the gap band came thru, years ago, they brought the hous down, and made me want to move to tulsa, but just being from the ok, I feel they are my homeboys, and will forever jam to their sound, until icant anymore, right on, fellas love your sound
