The music and vocals are dynamic. Who gonna argue against against me about the 70s producing the greatest R&B era ever? This cut is a steppers and smooth jam
2012 i was 20 depressed living in some shite hostel so broke al I had was a radio and all day would try an find a station that played soul and il never forget round 7pm I tuned into a station and this song was playin i couldn’t believe my luck comin across such a rare and beautiful gem I thank back2back fm my fav soul/Jazz station ❤️❤️❤️
so much power in music , especially this beautiful stuff,.. songs move and songs touch and they can make everything feel better. i am very happy you tuned in
About 8-10 years ago I heard this incredible song for the first time on the now defunct station KUSP. It sent chills up my spine, I couldn't believe its incredible orchestration, the way each instrument relayed those sounds! Seth Kolski was the Saturday night dj, playing only original vynil records specializing in soul, funk, disco, rare groove, and overall incredible music in the last only-vynil music show in the US. At least back then, it was. I used to be a vynil enthusiastic but he had every album I had (10+ thousand records) yet I could never find those lps he did have. He was a good music mentor. May your God keep you by his side, Seth. I hope you're spinning some heavenly soul up there in the great beyond.
Such a perfect underground mid 70s sound, that warm synth bass line. Can you hear the subtle influence on "Secret Garden" by Quincy Jones in the verse chords/melody - "I know a melody we can sing together...I got the secret key...." ?
Released in 1976, sells for £2,500 that's if you can get hold of the original "7" Richard Flowers is the name to remember, because he is the voice behind this fabulous Rare Groover with subtle strings to match, very much in the Leroy Hutson, Leon Ware school of music, this is a treasure trove of a track that even Roy Ayers & Wayne Henderson covered it on their album
Daniel Kelly this is how it works,in 76 people were more interested in young hearts runfree and all that crap ,and gems like this didn't get a lookin,so most of them were destroyed, meaning now there are not many around hence the price,,,good job I got my copy in 1981 for 10 pounds, ktf,
Daniel Kelly these are the only known copies of the song.Having a youtube play is nothing.Thise vinyls are the only way music like this still exists. One day youtube wont exist. But those cinyls will last for as long as they are taken care of.There are more expensive ones that are more rare.Simply because you cannot find them anywhere
Every time i see your face it seems like the dawning of brand new day oh ya every time you walk my way I know that love is only moments away.... for real so for real..... every time you touch my hand it feels like I only just begun to feel; every time i kiss your lips I know that what I waited for is finally here for real...... so for real.......
D'Ann Chen These type of records were never hits, tiny independant labels, with maybe 500 copies pressed. Lost in the vast sheer amount that america put out. The soul and funk that america gave the world from 64 to 84 will be talked about, debated even studied in 500years time as a cultural high point and epoch,.of course it took english collectors and djs to rediscover it lying around in bargain bins and dusty warehouses. This track has been played constantly for 30years here in england, and now commands a four figure sum. Any how just sayin. Check out soul spectrum vol 1 and 2 for more like this. Heres another tune to check out "family of eve" please be truthful. Peace to you..x
So glad back in 76 the record shop owners put this under the counter and forget about it and concentrated on selling gloria gaynor instead ,now original copies of this fantastic tune are worth a mint,
Wonderful, wonderful! Remember hearing this at Caister, back in the day. Never realized there was this gorgeous extended version. Shame Richard Flowers only seemed to make two songs.
Is it true? I can't believe it! You Tube brings me to this wonderful piece of music which is part of my collection. I don't know where I got but it's out of the US. I think it was in a lot I baught in the late 80's or in the 90's. I hadn't played it for years but I'm lucky to have it in my collection. But all'n'all this extended version is a rocket! 3:45 min is tooo short for this fantastic soul smoother!
Why oh why did he only make one masterpiece? Leroy HUTSON, Solomon Burke, Lou Rawls and bug bad Barry White made lots of masterpieces, which dustinguished them apart, just like the ORIGINALS, SPINNERS and the mighty IMPRESSIONS made lots of masterpieces, distinguishing them apart.
WOOOOOWWWWW! romantic soul music! 1977, when I was 16, my first boyfriend, Frank, nowadays still my husband, after 46 years!
There is nothing like Funk N Soul Music. This song is beautiful and still Jammin in 2024. 😅❤😅

I read this comment as he said those lyrics
That's so weird, the same happens to me on many music posts. ❤️🎶
Man I wanna go to a retro bar from the 70s that only plays cold cuts like this, straight atmosphere.
What does cold cut means?
@@lunasea4309 it means songs
I only just discovered it while listening on RetroSoulRadio last night.

Such a great soulful single
Such a perfect underground mid 70s sound, that warm synth bass line. Can you hear the subtle influence on "Secret Garden" by Quincy Jones in the verse chords/melody - "I know a melody we can sing together...I got the secret key...." ?

Thought so. This came up in my recommendations and I said to my partner "This probably costs loads, doesn't it?" Lovely track.

Superb! .....Just, well......superb.
Flowers has that classic Barry White & SalSoul Orchestra vibe .Roy Ayers knew he had to give us a rendition.
Funky and smooth 🔥🔥🔥
The here-we-go-again pleasure and pain of love and lust is in this record.
Every time i see your face
it seems like the dawning of brand new day
oh ya
every time you walk my way
I know that love is only moments away....

I had friends who were into Soul and Soul Train A LOT more than I was; how did this bypass them?
because you listened to commercial rubbish.
The best music and best songs were too good for radio play.
So glad back in 76 the record shop owners put this under the counter and forget about it and concentrated on selling gloria gaynor instead ,now original copies of this fantastic tune are worth a mint,
Un bijou, ce morceau! En boucle, merci!
Nice summer groove, thanks 4 posting rare grooves
Wonderful, wonderful!
Remember hearing this at Caister, back in the day.
Never realized there was this gorgeous extended version.
Shame Richard Flowers only seemed to make two songs.
I think this was a kinda bootleg copy of side A vocal and B instrumental mixed was never released in 12" or extended
So so good. Can't wait to play this in the sun at Suncebeat. Bliss
Fantastic!
Beautiful record
So Good!!
Also been recorded by Roy Ayers. More strings on this one, Ayers a bit funkier. Both recordings are top-notch.
Black folks are GODS. What did you expect.
Takes you to another place if you let it
Wonderful!
