You really have an eye for detail and the equipment to make your vision possible! Your basically a sculptor, with heavy equipment, and that’s what separates the amateurs from the professionals. On top of that, you treat your customers fairly. That’s what’s missing in business today, integrity!
Chris can grab the icing knife spreader with his blade grabber, grab up some cake icing and decorate the cake while many operators just scratch their heads….lol..🤣😂 All kidding aside….The pond owner will be happy he had Letsdig18 doing the job.
Amazing how much better it looks after someone who really knows what they're doing and cares about the end result works on it. Looks awesome. You are definitely the PondMaster!
If that was my pond i would have got you to drain it and dig the original pond area out and throw it back to have more depth in the pond and more area around the water for activities. That pond 12-15’ deep with a wider dam and a new core would be a lot of fun and useful for a nice long slide and an excavator swing
Chris , the skill with which you operate your machinery is almost beyond imagination . You good Sir have mastered your craft . I am a retired machinist and appriciate the quality of your work .
My guess is that multiple people tried working on this pond. The first guy just start randomly digging out the shore. The next guy that came in try to fix what the first guy did by bringing in dirt to fix what the first guy did but got to expensive or ran out time to finish and that's where you came in.
Find an old grader blade, attach a quick connect, and use that for moving sloppy mud. Like you do with the mats. Would also work when the dozer is not feasible.
I once saw an operator do pretty much that only he used a large "I" beam 18 inch by 12 feet if memory serves, and would simply grab it with the bucket and thumb. he would tilt it one way and the edge would dig in, or tilt back ad use it to smooth out the surface like a knife on frosting.
You come with the Volvo to this new place of work on. With the Done picture is to see a great, beautiful make pond with clear water, to surround from a tree avenue. The pond is in the district to install and have not a great dam. On one side is a great villa. Your task is the beach to clearing to the mud and new to make. This day hav you a part building. A good work however. Glad my to the next video how is to see, you the pond master. 🐟
Chris sure picked the perfect title for this video for he is definitely the Pond Master .. he can sure paint a pretty picture with that machine.....love the picture...
So relaxing watching you do your thing. Bush be gone removal service !! Thanks much Chris , just what I needed after a day at the office at a desk. Means a lot. 👍
Reminds me of dredging a fly-ash pond, at work, many years ago. The contractor used a Bucyrus crane and a big Cat dozer. They worked so good together, swinging and sliding the dredging bucket it was like watching a well rehearsed dance.
Well Master Chris. This shows clearly you are the master pond man. In just one day with the restart the transformation. The saving with that bucket is impressive. Ps how is Winston?🐕🤔
Good morning Chris It been a great journey watching your videos Iam enjoying watching you play in the mud and ripping trees out as you build a pond for the owner I wonder what next you will be doing what ever you will be doing I will still watch your videos whenever I can
Awesome video Chris, that is some nice material, gonna be the best lawn on the property, good job, that pond edge looks so nice after you do your final pass, man that looks good, shiney! Thanks for sharing an look forward to the next video 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Really appreciate your videos and the training I get from them. Recently spent a few weeks in Mayfield, Ky doing volunteer work after the tornados. Using my tractor, truck, and chainsaws. A company delivered a large excavator for us to move big trees off houses and such. I’ve rented mini excavators before but this was my first experience with a large one. Learned a lot and used techniques I learned from watching you to lift and load trees, even dug out a few really large ones that were damaged and wouldn’t make it. Dug the big hole around them and then pushed them over. Cut them up and dropped the base, root ball and stump back in the hole for fish cover. After losing so many trees the owner decided he’s going to build a pond. Anyway wish I had learned to operate big machines when I was younger. Thanks again for the training.
Hi Chris. You not only make it look nice, you make it look easy. Which by no means is it. I have watched many others dig and use an excavator, and I find myself saying why all the wasted moves. You young man do not have wasted moves when you work. It is a good feeling to watch you work in such a professional manner. Sincerly Ed
Chris, that is a good looking slick job there. I need a grading bucket. I have a cutting edge welded to two outside teeth on my digging bucket but I can't make it look like that. You make it look like icing on a birthday cake. 👍
I'm surprised the owners didn't ask for a deeper cut. In Australia more water storage is always wanted. And we don't know what weather patterns are going to do. It's a nice looking property overall.
I've run some large excavators in my past at some quarry's. I didn't have "tilt" buckets or any of those luxuries. You young man, do an excellent job from what I've watched.
Dave over at Ccrx6700, a coal mine train rail maintenance guy at the Cumberland mine in Pennsylvania, has a pond problem and mentioned you in his video. I know it's a long ways away but it would make an awesome get together and be good for both channels.
Lookin good Chris. It’s amazing how you find time to fit these projects of your own in and work full time with your uncle. Nice work as always, Can’t wait to see this one finished!
Coming along very nicely Chris. Nice transformation. With your skill and that big machine, it’s amazing what you can get done in a days work. Impressive.
I don't know what happens over fall and winter but turnips are a great cover crop. Stop Erosion, either spray or mow down in spring before they go to seed. Stay green all winter. Gives a good start to grass seed.
Awesome job!! I hope and pray that I can find someone in my area as good as you are .. fingers crossed 🤞 my old pond need a little work here in Tennessee.
Glad you’re fixing the pond. Seems the pond water is seeping into the pond walls - perhaps there’s insufficient clay in the soil or it wasn’t packed down. Cutting down the shoreline wall will make the pond surface larger, but doesn’t seem it will make the pond deeper unless much more water is added and retained.
I saw a video you would enjoy yesterday! A CAT 962 wheel loader being transported on a low boy trailer 740Km to a mine site. Looked like it was in the Alps, hairpin turns, up and down mountains, down the center of the road. They had to remove the cab, and back it on the trailer, let air out of the back tires because they were sitting on top of the tandem axles and the bucket sat on top of the trailer gooseneck!
Love watching the pond master at work, you are very skilled. Wonder what went on with that crappy looking bank in front of the house? I know you will make it look pretty. Take care & cheers from 🐨🦘🥰
Looks like that's going to be a good looking pond when you get finished with it. You have your camera in a good place like ridding on the trackho with you.
Hey, I saw one of your videos about making a pond and I really liked it. I'm a senior in college and for our senior project we are designing a retention pond which connects to the LLano Grande River located between Mercedes and Weslaco Texas. The point of this pond is to help with the overflooding of the river during heavy storms. Do you have any tips on calculating the adequate dimensions for the pond and also any tips on designing the inlet and outlet. For example, choosing the right pipe or the right outlet.
I filled up with diesel for the tractor yesterday here in the UK. £0.73/litre for 1,000 litres, which is $3.85/US gallon. This time last year, it was $2.16 Road diesel for the truck is $7.90/US gallon...
Sounds like you need a way to plug in the thumb AND the tilt bucket, and have a switch in the cab for changing between them. A solenoid might be able to do it, but I've no idea how. Also, I've seen rougher roads than that graded surface.
Skimming the dry off of that self leveling jello is tricky at best. Good job not sinking to China out there. Who'da thunk you could dredge without mats. Only Chris would have the confidence to use that floating dry as a mat and still cut it right up to his tracks. A lot of guys would have sunk their equipment up to the seat. Cool job.
We called the bucket you are using here in England a ditching bucket because like you say they are excellent for grading work and cleaning up a load of mess
A guy could rig up a vickers valve for the thumb and tilt bucket, couple buddies of mine do something similar to run log grapples with rotate on excavators, use the vickers valve for the less common function, in this case switching from rotate to grab.
Since you're scraping more than digging, that grading bucket is slick. The next LD18 idea will be a 8' wide bucket that is only 2' high. Same capacity with a much broader edge. Then you could really slick things up.
What a pretty farm and property. This is beautiful and a nice job. He's earthmovings version of the 'Stigg'.
You really have an eye for detail and the equipment to make your vision possible!
Your basically a sculptor, with heavy equipment, and that’s what separates the amateurs from the professionals.
On top of that, you treat your customers fairly. That’s what’s missing in business today, integrity!
Dave you are so correct.
Sculptor, yes I agree ... I bet he could frost a cake with that thing! (might be an idea for their next challenge haha ha!)
I agree Dave
To uncross your thumb hoses switch wires on valve senoids
Chris can grab the icing knife spreader with his blade grabber, grab up some cake icing and decorate the cake while many operators just scratch their heads….lol..🤣😂 All kidding aside….The pond owner will be happy he had Letsdig18 doing the job.
haha ha I just commented the same thing about frosting a cake. funny
Amazing how much better it looks after someone who really knows what they're doing and cares about the end result works on it. Looks awesome. You are definitely the PondMaster!
Hes a Guitar Master too, he does his very own guitar riff fer his video's ya know!
Chris makes it look so easy.
When it actually takes a good eye, experience and talent all rolled into one.
He's the Pond Whisperer.
If that was my pond i would have got you to drain it and dig the original pond area out and throw it back to have more depth in the pond and more area around the water for activities. That pond 12-15’ deep with a wider dam and a new core would be a lot of fun and useful for a nice long slide and an excavator swing

@𝐲ùŘᵃ🌸 get out of here
The finish that you achieved Chris was like someone troweling off cement nicely done.
@𝐲ùŘᵃ🌸 sus
Beautiful house on a great piece of land.
when you talk to us on these videos I feel like we should be able to have a two way conversation😂 I catch myself about to speak to you!
I'm pretty good at dealing with mud, could be a major understatement!
"The Pond Master Is Here "! Ouuuh, are we getting a lil' self conscious here !?? 🤣🤣🤣
Unexpected mud pies, you make it look so easy, what we Brits call “tarting it up” . Excellent job Chris, when can we see the finished product.?
You come with the Volvo to this new place of work on. With the Done picture is to see a great, beautiful make pond with clear water, to surround from a tree avenue. Pond Master for sure! ! ! 👍 That pond is going to look AWESOME when you're done, Chris.
So relaxing watching you do your thing. Bush be gone removal service !! Thanks much Chris , just what I needed after a day at the office at a desk. Means a lot. 👍
nice job mud jedi! that giant tilt bucket is the the ticket for sure, you must of moved a thousand yards of that slop, looking good!
Reminds me of dredging a fly-ash pond, at work, many years ago. The contractor used a Bucyrus crane and a big Cat dozer. They worked so good together, swinging and sliding the dredging bucket it was like watching a well rehearsed dance.

Ps how is Winston?🐕🤔
Chris what a beautiful looking job! Your work is amazing! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Looks good already . Can’t wait to see the finished product
You pulled that bush out and my first thought was "that'll be a small burn pile". Yea, I've been watching allot of your clearing jobs lately 😀
Good morning Chris
It been a great journey watching your videos
Iam enjoying watching you play in the mud and ripping trees out as you build a pond for the owner I wonder what next you will be doing what ever you will be doing I will still watch your videos whenever I can
Looking at that soil, I bet that shoreline has slumped down towards the pond probably 50 feet or so in the last 45-50 years. Nothing to hold it back.
Awesome video Chris, that is some nice material, gonna be the best lawn on the property, good job, that pond edge looks so nice after you do your final pass, man that looks good, shiney! Thanks for sharing an look forward to the next video 🇺🇸🇺🇸

This is great therapeutics. No lie. I’m mesmerised at how effective you work this large bucket.
Oh great pond master! lol That grading bucket sure makes quick work out of a job like this.
Another great look Chris that looks a lot better than it did you have a good eye for detail love your work.
I always wonder how long before somebody drives in that fresh mud and goes out of sight. It just looks so nice and inviting. 😂😂
Hi Chris.
You not only make it look nice, you make it look easy. Which by no means is it.

You love your grading bucket...
And I love watching you grade.
Chris, that is a good looking slick job there. I need a grading bucket. I have a cutting edge welded to two outside teeth on my digging bucket but I can't make it look like that. You make it look like icing on a birthday cake. 👍
That is one large clear pond that needs some loving care from Chris.
Sure looks like a big pond to me! Going to be gorgeous when it's full. Thank goodness they hired through right guy for the job!
That is a beautiful pond setting. Your going to have a nice looking job when done young man.
I love watching how you work that grading bucket! you make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!
Like scooping icecream. Amazing how soft the ground is. Can't wait to see the next video.
It's amazing what you can do in the day's work when you put your mind to it. 👍👍😀🇨🇦
I'm surprised the owners didn't ask for a deeper cut. In Australia more water storage is always wanted. And we don't know what weather patterns are going to do. It's a nice looking property overall.
Looking good. There is so many options of were you could put some sand down for your own personal beech.
They say he can skim the skin off a rice pudding with that grading bucket
Love the dragon. Prynhawn da.
@@cs_fl5048 Diolch bore da
You needed DPs super stick for that last butchered section from the shore line lol
I've run some large excavators in my past at some quarry's. I didn't have "tilt" buckets or any of those luxuries. You young man, do an excellent job from what I've watched.

Who is Dave
Daves not here man
Dave has a mess on his hand. He sent me a text and said it's only seeping which is good but a good rain may cause more than a seep
You make everything you touch look better. Sometimes unbelievable transformations. You must have customers lined up for years.
Impressive.
That wasn’t a little Dingo that was dirt perfect in his 120! 😎😬🤣😝

Awesome job!! I hope and pray that I can find someone in my area as good as you are .. fingers crossed 🤞 my old pond need a little work here in Tennessee.
Nice video! Really enjoy watching your pond videos.
That big bucket you're using makes a huge difference in how quickly you're getting things done. The video was very good.
That grading bucket sure has come in handy. Impressed with what you can do with it.
Before anyone asks, yes that square thing out there on the end of the stick is a manual concrete pump. In the south we just call it a bucket.
Chris. MASTER, MASTER...WHERE'S THE POND THAT I'VE BEEN AFTER?! You rock!
Let’s gett itt done Master Chris, what ever you do we know it will look great when your done 🤙
I have worked with him on a few jobs . It’s better to watch him in person
@@Todd.Roberts whata privilege, lucky you
He is a nut in person
This pond and the grassy banks looks like there should be palm trees around it! Sand on the beach too!
I Guess I will just have to refer to you as the Magic Man!!! Looks Fantastic Great Job. Magic Man
That grading bucket sure does a sweet clean job.
with a twisting river-like pond you get a longer walk and a more diverse ecosystem
Have No Fear The Pond Master Is Here! that is hilarious! What a beautiful day and that pond looks gorgeous. Have a great one.
I saw a video you would enjoy yesterday! A CAT 962 wheel loader being transported on a low boy trailer 740Km to a mine site. When a pond has the dammedest mess, who you gonna call - Pond Master
Chris you said it right you are the pond master as always.
Couldn't have done a smoother slick job with a TROWEL, Chris! 👍
I'm glad you clarified that. I have noticed you have a good eye. Not everyone does. I couldn't eyeball level with a level.
Maybe the holes along the shore was to encourage fish beds when the water was higher? Makes for easy fishing when they're right at the feet.
Good looking bit of work to make it look nice. At least you don’t have to blow out the air filters!!
Great job Chris. Well done.
Love watching the pond master at work, you are very skilled. Wonder what went on with that crappy looking bank in front of the house? I know you will make it look pretty. Take care & cheers from 🐨🦘🥰
“Here I come to save the day! That means that POND MASTER is on his way “. Tom
Looks 100% better than when you started. You can make a silk purse out of a Sows ear
Looks like that's going to be a good looking pond when you get finished with it. You have your camera in a good place like ridding on the trackho with you.
At least it didn't come out of the water like usual! Up to your ears in muck! 😀

It almost looks like someone attempted to dredge that one section and kept looking for a solid place. It looks much nicer now!

looking a whole lot better now. that is a nice pond though.
Chris, i envy you. Your love is what you are doing for a living. Perfect life.
I believe the bad section was where they pushed their first cut to. Loaded with organic matter it dissolved and left what you have.
Hey Chris !! Really nice job
Sounds like you need a way to plug in the thumb AND the tilt bucket, and have a switch in the cab for changing between them.

What would be really interesting is a history of pond digging. Say from 100 or so years ago to the present. That would be fascinating and educational.
Nice job Chris... Love the well defined shoreline....
Reminds me of a butter sculpture at the county fair excellent work😅
Chris if digging dirt don't work for you then I think you might be able to frost cakes at a bakery you make it look so easy great video ,
We called the bucket you are using here in England a ditching bucket because like you say they are excellent for grading work and cleaning up a load of mess

Looks like a good job for your buddies super stick on that one side.
That’s going look great, u the pond man for sure
