Hi That is an impressive build. I'm level 49 sorcer. I have a question. Once you clear the certin dungeon and obtain certain codex of power. Does that codex scale towards your stats depending on its properties or must it be imprinted into your gear in order for it to work? Your answer would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to diablo. Thank you M
What many of the new Diablo content creators haven’t seemed to grasp yet is that in Diablo, certain affixes only spawn on certain pieces of gear. So just to make it easier on your brain, for example, +ice shards Only spawns on gloves. So don’t skip it on gloves thinking you will get it somewhere else. It needs to be on your gloves. Max Mana is only on rings and helm, CDR is ammy, offhand and helm, etc
Piercing Cold can drop attached to quite a few objects. +7-9 on Staves, +3-4 1h, 3-4 on rings, I have a +7 on an amulet, and it can be a max of +4 on gloves. You can acquire the aspect for your codex in the dungeon Dead Man’s Dredge. Using the codex will give you a guaranteed enchantment but will always be the minimum available so a +3 on a focus for instance, or +7 on a staff.
@aurorafina like the other guy said. We're talking about skill ranks. Not aspect effectiveness. Staves give 100% bonus to the aspects and amulets give 50% boost which is something else entirely.
I did this with my build and was extremely shocked to see the powerful results. I’ve had a little to no trouble destroying enemies. When I know I can just walk away. Also, when it comes to dungeon bosses, I can actually deal significant damage now.

I also just got the Avalance Aspect with 2 free casts when it procs. Do a nova and then blizzard and everything just dies. I love it because it's not just the one-note "shards" all the time. Instead it's big AOE and DOT and combine with shards for single target massacre and the shards enchantment.

Once you get 3x cdr, 3x mcr , and 3x Resource gen, you have pretty close to infinite mana. You can drop all the lucky hit perks in skill build and on gear and start using shatter and other damage buffs instead. I recently got there and it's glorious.

I would strongly recommend using the Tactician Glyph next to your Vuln nodes to amp your Vuln damage. It's an obscene increase when you have the requirements met.
It only increases the rare node and even maxed its a total of 25 additional vulnerable damage. That is nice, but far from neccesary since tactitian is a pretty crappy node other than that bonus. There are many glyphs that surpass its value even with the bonus. The actual best thing to do is to use the Reinforced Glyph because it gives the same bonus to the rare node as tactician, and its secondary is much more valuable as it is global damage reduction. The only downside to using Reinforced in that space is that there are not enough willpower slots to activate the bonus until you get the glyph to level 15 for the range bonus.

I have been running a SnowThunder build since day one. No Fire skills allowed. The Cold skills are used very much like you use yours but I brought Lightning to supplement my Cold damage. It is a fun build and fits my RPG theme perfectly.
it doesnt make sense , you say to use Frozen Tundra aspect but you dont even use deep freeze , so that aspect would be useless on the build w/o deep freeze as a result.
Love it when I been using this build since the launch. And when I tell people blizzard is quite good they laugh. Now i see many streamers and youtubers using it.. haha
This still viable now. I was using fire but I’m now level 55. Been told use an endgame build off maxroll and feel weak. However I saw this and looks good. Just curious will it still work as the video is 11 months old

Do the Umbral and Lucky hit aspects only drop in T4? I'm 63 now and I have never seen either of those on a drop. Even trying to focus rings and gloves in helltides and with obuls, never seen 'em.
The frigid fate legendary node requires vulnerable(which I don't believe you have double frost nova or chance on freeze to apply vuln), then 15 hits, then lasts for 5 seconds for 15%. Really close to it is 3 nodes, a rare and 2 magic that will give you 10% lucky hit ALL the time, no conditionals, get them, you skipped them.
I cannot reset my paragon board all the way back. At one point it says "You cannot refund a node that breaks the connection to another node." Yet it was only connected to one other node and I'd got 60 points doing it the same way but now the error. Any clues?
Love the build. Instead of Glacial aspect on the amulet, I have been using Elementalist's aspect for the extra crit chance. I found the damage difference to be tremendous, however a lot more management of the Avalanche passive is required as well as BiS mana cost reduction, lucky hit and resource generation gear. So I would say for late endgame it is probably better since you stack so much crit damage, and the aspect gives 60% crit chance on it's own.
@@ch4Ron23 ice spikes are the main damage dealer, which this aspect also doesn't affect. Poor aspect considering ur only buffing a portion of ur damage
I'm excited to try out this build. I'm already running something similar but unfortunately don't have the chest piece 😭 but your explanation on how to have better mana pool sounds really good and that's just what I need! Thank you for this and happy gaming! 😁
i play almost the same build and it's really powerful. major difference for mine: as i didn't find good crit dmg gear, i removed the burning enchantment and took the frost bolt enchantment wich boost a lot the chilling effect: 3 blizzard or 2 blizzard and a ice shard is a guaranted freeze without any condition. i don't even use flame shield, i don't need the defense. And there are also parangon nodes that give dmg and dmg reduction to/from chilled enemies that replace the burning nodes. I'm still working on some minor adjustments but chill is the priority. I agree on the pants: this unique is a must have for this build. I also agree on the boots: I replaced those unique boots with some really good boots with + frost nova, + ice armor, speed and cooldown reduction, and i just came back to those unique boots because i like very much leaving a chill tail (just like fire blaze on the old D2). As everything freeze a lot, i don't really need the cooldown reduction of the defenses. finally i use an aspect that increase dmg to frozen ennemies (or stunned or whatever). I tried increased dmg to vulnerable ennemies while having a barrier and the frozen works better: one staggered boss phase is enough to melt bosses down even when they are 8 lvl above me. I still have to try the aspect that spread a crowd control effect to see the benefit but my build as it is now is a good compromise between elite+crowd slaughter and boss melting (with cold :))
Exactly what I am doing. I am lvl 73 and went yesterday some NM Dungeons on LvL 34, no problem whatsoever. Also dropped Flame Shield. You get through Paragon so many barriers and dmg reduction/increases that the fire spec is not worth it. Also running the Ice Bolt Enchant. Are you using the unique which "pulls" on teleport? I find it actually not worth it, because the range is soooo low from where it pulls...?
@@carroux4050 no i don't. I actually never dropped it. i guess it would be convenient for the ghost archers, these are the only ones annoying. And wow! at lvl 73, you're doing Lvl34 dungeons? that means monster level 88! that's a big difference! grats. I do also Tier 34-35 but I'm lvl 82.
Every video that says "push higher tier dungeons" is always crippled by the on screen *at level* dungeon clears 😅 im sure it works. But replace all at level screen grabs with 10+ to prove the point imo. Scuffed builds melt enemies at level. Unaspected builds melt things at level. Good information throughout though!
You have a problem with your aspects. The frozen tundra, piercing cold, storm swell, frozen memories, control and glacial aspect all go the the same equipment (amulet, gloves, ring, 1H, and 2H). The prodigy aspect can only go on a ring. So which aspect would you leave off due to lack of available equipment?
I just threw together some of the best aspects for the build. Given some of them are legendary drops, some people might not be able to get a specific one. I'd just use what you have available, if you have them all, I'd say drop storm swell or control.
@@MedievalMarty btw you should go for boots with +4 on teleport and +4 on nova, and +3 all def skills on neck. This is how i cleared level 52 NM dungeon as level 81 blizzard sorc. You need cooldown of teleport to be like 2 seconds if you hit 6 enemies and nova to be at below 6 when you kill 4 frozen by it. With the low cooldowns you can get rid of the pants as well and get more survivability pants - max life, damage reduction, especially damage reduction while injured (works well with barriers) you want barriers on cooldown maxed once you have the cooldowns so low. You want the control aspect - 52% to stunned, frozen or immobilized enemies (neck) it multiplies by itself if you have all these applied (staggered bosses trigger all three) low TP and nova cooldown take care of the first two for everything else. I dont use mana regen on cast - takes valuable slot. Mana cost reduction on the boots neck and offhand + mana gain on hands and offhand from lucky hits is enough (blizzard is at 26 mana for me). You completely missed out the MVP legendary paragon node - 10 mana per stunned closed enemy - remember your TP is at 2-3 sec cooldown when you hit things with it... TP +30-50 mana usually. :) You can go on from there. Oh yeah, and one more note, tho doubtful if you read this, but on the boots you would love to use the aspect that says: While Unstoppable and for 4 seconds after you gain 25% move speed and can freely move through enemies. Read the teleport tooltip *wink wink* +low the extremely low cooldown... :)
Lv25 NM any build works. Starting 50nm, without good damage mitigation, everything one shot you through even full barrier. By that time you need to swap out the unique pants to something else, and use aspect of disobedience if want to stay in melee range. Or you can swap out the unique chest and stay at range only. Also, high NM ice shard proc won't kill mobs on single proc, most people swap out to use frozen orb or meteor depending on your style prefer range or melee.
Im lvl 63 and still have to manage mana to some degree as I'm on the hunt for ideal gear, but yes I love it! Ice covers the screen, spikes are everywhere and frozen enemies explode from iceshard enchant
Do the ice shards that come out of frost nova count for burning damage? Right now I’m running blizzard build without ice shards on my skill bar. At level 64 running both is a little too mana costly but wondering if I should still work my way to burning paragon buffs
Soooo what is the best gear to put these key aspects? Sorry I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to this game. I have the Piercinc cold on my weapon and thats it... Where should I put Glacial, frozen Tundra and so on.... 🤔
I have no gear, low level and I found a vulnerable damage legendary staff and kinda made this build up myself yesterday.. and wow. All I needed was good vulnerable damage on 2-3 legendaries and shit just explodes.. I’m only like level 50 and I can clear any nightmare dungeon solo, breeze threw. All I have is ice shards + blizzard + nova + ice shard enhancement and maybe + a fair bit of vulnerable damage.
I am just about to ding 50 and only using Ice Shards, but going to give this a go as it looks much better. It is a lot harder when you do t have all the aspects….more mana required. 😂
I still have issues with Mana regen. I got max mana on my helmet. Lucky hit restoring primary recourse, 5,5 cooldown reduc, + 3,4% mana reduc… and still in CC I get hit, without striking back (ice shard as main skill).. please help😅
Marty, I don't understand how this build is actually possible considering the Aspects that you're recommending. None of those Aspects work on every single piece of equipment. In fact, Aspect of the Protector is the only one that will work on a helm or chestpiece. Which Aspect do you have on each piece of equipment? Thanks.
- Offensive Aspects: can be imprinted on Gloves, 1H Weapons, 2H Weapons (with a 100% effectiveness bonus), Rings, and Amulets (with a 50% effectiveness bonus). - Defensive Aspects: can be imprinted on Helms, Chest Armor, Pants, Shields, and Amulets (with a 50% effectiveness bonus). - Resource Aspects: can be imprinted on Rings - Utility Aspects: can be imprinted on Helms, Chest Armor, Boots, Gloves, and Amulets (with a 50% effectiveness bonus). - Mobility Aspects: can only be imprinted on Boots and Amulets (with a 50% effectiveness bonus).
Do ice spikes chill? There's an aspect that gives frost armor create ice spikes and make them chill. Would that further increase the speed to freeze for normal mobs and stagger for bosses?
Another bliz build video with ice heart Bria's and raiment...the 2 I don't have, gonna hit 80 on the weekend still no bueno. What do I gotta do to them????
I wish I could try this built, but at only level 54 and struggling a bit with mana to cast ice shard, having to cast blizzard on top of that is impossible...
Im lvl 63 and the mana struggle will be there until you get all the "ideal" gear as I see it. That said, I switched to blizzard as it covers a larger AOE field and with a couple icespike aspects, works great. Keep in mind, the iceshards will passively shoot at enemies frozen by blizzard, so you get the best of both worlds. Only issue I have at this point is bosses. I do the usual blizzard until stunned then iceshard down. Not bad, just takes a little longer than 5 seconds :). Good luck!
How do you beat the Butcher with that build? He's fast and on you non stop. He kills you long before your blizzards, ice shards or anything else take him out. Am level 87 doing tier 40-42 NM dungeons.and this build get me 1 shotted by just about any elites. Kills great but you better never let enemies touch you. I seriously doubt this will take you very far in the end game but it's fun to play :)
I have a build like this I also use fire ball in enhancement with an amulet that 60% increase crit damage to fireball, the explosions and chain reactions are crazy
What is the point of ice spikes ? More damage ? More chill apploed ? If I understood correctly, blizzard does the chilling and ice shards do the damage so I don't see the point of having ice spikes. Would it not waste aspects on the gear ?
Yes on blizzard and shards. That said...in a single blizzard cast, there are a lot of spikes for a sustained amount of time, across a large AOE area (especially with aspects slotted), they can crit, and it's fun watching them do the work :)

I’m trying to squeak out a few more by completing all my renoun so that I can max out all the little passives on my skill tree. My build currently does not have Blizzards but I really want to add it thanks to your video! Gonna get rid of my Inferno and add Blizzards. I’ll keep you posted! Thanks again
Any chance for a d4builds link so it's easier to follow?
Just pinned a comment now with one on :)
I have been running a SnowThunder build since day one. No Fire skills allowed. The Cold skills are used very much like you use yours but I brought Lightning to supplement my Cold damage. It is a fun build and fits my RPG theme perfectly.
What level is your build currently?
it doesnt make sense , you say to use Frozen Tundra aspect but you dont even use deep freeze , so that aspect would be useless on the build w/o deep freeze as a result.
How are you making frozen tundra proc without using deep freeze as an assigned skill?
I was wondering about that as well...
Nice cool build, thanks !
What`s up with using the Frozen Tundra aspect when you don`t have Deep Freeze in your talent? Something I`ve missed out on here?
Nice video, I was wondering if you could do a planned paragon to lvl 100 ? Cheers :)
Just curious will it still work as the video is 11 months old
Blizzard is fantastic this season, I do have an updated video for Season 4 that works better than this :) ua-cam.com/video/jtVFBr5wniE/v-deo.htmlsi=Shua40y1_ZibE5nF
Nice video :) trying to create this build, but what stats do you recommend? :) Im new to sorc only lvl 60
I cannot reset my paragon board all the way back. At one point it says "You cannot refund a node that breaks the connection to another node." Yet it was only connected to one other node and I'd got 60 points doing it the same way but now the error. Any clues?
Great build! Thanks for sharing! Question: can a sorcerer use overpower damage? Or is it just for barb? Thanks.
Blizzard can't crit
@@turtel855 but ice shards, which is the main dmg dealer
@@ch4Ron23 ice spikes are the main damage dealer, which this aspect also doesn't affect. Poor aspect considering ur only buffing a portion of ur damage
Although tbf it depends how ur running this build, I have ice spikes on staff with 2.5k damage/hit
@@turtel855 I see , i thought the ice spikes could crit. I am using the ice shards as main damage dealer tho.
Hey my build finally got some love ^.^
I'm excited to try out this build. I'm already running something similar but unfortunately don't have the chest piece 😭 but your explanation on how to have better mana pool sounds really good and that's just what I need! Thank you for this and happy gaming! 😁
Whats the sequence of attacks we should use? Or combo
awesome build! looks like I'm making a sorcerer
GL.. this isnt for leveling.. more like end game..
Hi why you have the fire shield on left click doesnt it proc all time? and how you deal with mana problems at levveling phase?
i play almost the same build and it's really powerful. major difference for mine: as i didn't find good crit dmg gear, i removed the burning enchantment and took the frost bolt enchantment wich boost a lot the chilling effect: 3 blizzard or 2 blizzard and a ice shard is a guaranted freeze without any condition. i don't even use flame shield, i don't need the defense.
Been using a similar build for a while now and it fits my playstyle. I love blizzard sorc
You're using Avalanche instead of Shatter, did I hear that right??
How come my Blizzard doesn't freeze hardly anything? Is it because I am only lev 50?
You have a problem with your aspects. The frozen tundra, piercing cold, storm swell, frozen memories, control and glacial aspect all go the the same equipment (amulet, gloves, ring, 1H, and 2H). The prodigy aspect can only go on a ring. So which aspect would you leave off due to lack of available equipment?
I just threw together some of the best aspects for the build. Given some of them are legendary drops, some people might not be able to get a specific one. I'd just use what you have available, if you have them all, I'd say drop storm swell or control.
@@MedievalMarty Thanks for the reply.
How can I tell what aspects go on what pieces of armor I started putting stuff on and now I’m running into issues.
will this work for a level 61 sorcerer?
Im lvl 63 and still have to manage mana to some degree as I'm on the hunt for ideal gear, but yes I love it! Ice covers the screen, spikes are everywhere and frozen enemies explode from iceshard enchant
@@bca.3491 nice. Have to try this out. I'm level 69 now.
Why do you have shatter key passive when u don't play with it?
this is great! please consider making a written guide!
hello. there is something i don''t understand. you recommand Frozen toundra aspect but you don't use deep freeze skill. there is something I miss?
So the tundra aspect does 2 things, it forms spikes during deep freeze + increases spike radius. I use it just for the radius increase
Pretty much how my sorcerer is built/setup just find myself running out of mana lvl 60
Do the ice shards that come out of frost nova count for burning damage? Right now I’m running blizzard build without ice shards on my skill bar. At level 64 running both is a little too mana costly but wondering if I should still work my way to burning paragon buffs
Do u use no horffost or frigid breesze i love this build works great on packs, but mana outta mana outta mana so much
I'm confused, Aspect of the Frozen Tundra, says while Deep Freeze is active but the build isn't using Deep Freeze. Am I missing something??
It's the second sentence on the aspect. Ice spike deal cold damage and have an increased explosion radius
Is there a link for the skill tree table I can follow?
Wait why are your gloves on the Shatter Key Passive and weapon on Deep Freeze though?
Does the ice shard skill damage also apply to the ice shards dropped by blizzard?
What about Frostburn gloves?
Can this melt tier 60?. If not. Why bother. Guy is level 76.
Have your thoughts on Ice Spikes changed since Northwar killed Uber Lilith with it?
Soooo what is the best gear to put these key aspects? Sorry I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to this game. I have the Piercinc cold on my weapon and thats it... Where should I put Glacial, frozen Tundra and so on.... 🤔
How to get unique armor? Thanks
In lvl 50 nightmare and up doe the ice spikes hit that much? I feel like only ice shard does damage while the rest controls
Can you finish the paragon? thx
How u maintain the blizzard cd ?
I have no gear, low level and I found a vulnerable damage legendary staff and kinda made this build up myself yesterday.. and wow.
All I needed was good vulnerable damage on 2-3 legendaries and shit just explodes.. I’m only like level 50 and I can clear any nightmare dungeon solo, breeze threw.
All I have is ice shards + blizzard + nova + ice shard enhancement and maybe + a fair bit of vulnerable damage.
@Medieval Marty the Aspect of the Frozen Tundra works without Deep Freeze ?
It seems that way yea! Seem to still get the benefit of the ice spikes without using deep freeze
I am just about to ding 50 and only using Ice Shards, but going to give this a go as it looks much better. It is a lot harder when you do t have all the aspects….more mana required. 😂
Please update paragon board. I love this build
why shatter on gloves if u using avalanche?
I still have issues with Mana regen. I got max mana on my helmet. Lucky hit restoring primary recourse, 5,5 cooldown reduc, + 3,4% mana reduc… and still in CC I get hit, without striking back (ice shard as main skill).. please help😅
why would u keep overpower damage on ur weapon? doest sorcerer wont need that stat?
Hi, nice build! Question. Can a sorcerer use overpower damage? Or is it just for barb? I have conflicting information from different people. Thanks!
Overpower damage is useless on sorc.
You are much better off getting vulnerable / crit / intelligence
@@ReggaeHarmony Okay thanks!
Dude, what about the dangeons wich above to 20 lvl of you?
- Resource Aspects: can be imprinted on Rings
- Utility Aspects: can be imprinted on Helms, Chest Armor, Boots, Gloves, and Amulets (with a 50% effectiveness bonus).
- Mobility Aspects: can only be imprinted on Boots and Amulets (with a 50% effectiveness bonus).
Any gameplay in T40+ NM dungeons?
I like the gliphs u put in the paragon but am I suppose to have a lot of dex? I feel like I have way too much, more than my willpower
I run out of mana so fast while playing campaign (lv 22) am i doing something wrong
Do ice spikes chill? There's an aspect that gives frost armor create ice spikes and make them chill. Would that further increase the speed to freeze for normal mobs and stagger for bosses?
So frozen tundra works with blizzards ice spikes?
