    Placed a 0 DTE Butterfly on SPX, GLD, JPM, XOM, Cat, MSFT and Google 24 Mar 23. 4 of 7 made $. Net $5. Used the Tasty tool to select the positions. Adjusted a couple. May have been a bit greedy and too narrow. It was fun/scary to watch throughout the day. SPX made $45. Will focus on SPX going forward.

      I trade 1 DTE on a daily basis as my brokerage doesn't allow 0 DTE. Why do you do a butterfly instead of a condor? Butterfly max profit is only when you hit the exact price whereas Condor has a Range where you can collect Max profit. And butterfly is more expensive compared condor. Just curious of your reasoning behind using butterfly.

    My math is a bit different. There are (6 x 6) + 3 = 39 data points during the RTH day, not 63. I know he got messed up with the 6 * 10 minutes. If they did it every 6 minutes, spot on. All good. I love the 0DTE trades in SPX.

    There are certain times of the day when there is little volatility and it is advantageous to have condors on. Depending on the day's trading you can be consistent for days on end if you're not greedy.

    How frequently is theta calculated throughout the day? Minutes/Hours?
    If you're buying a 0dte and it doesn't go your way, or does go your way but not quickly enough, how soon should you cut and run?

    • @Md-ht3cg
      @Md-ht3cg Рік тому +1

      That's the reason you have to have a pre-planned risk amount and exit strategy, and also the reason most 0dte traders I know prefer spreads over buying calls or puts. Theta doesn't decay as quickly for spreads so it allows you to work it a little more, particularly in the mornings. In terms of theta, it's calculated in real time on the market. And of course it is exponential as you get later in the day, so a long call/put after lunch loses value even faster than the morning. In the afternoons you basically have to get the direction correct regardless, unless you placed a strangle/condor.

      @@Md-ht3cg Thanks! I had calls on NVDA yesterday after the drop. VIX, RSI, NDX, and support/trend all supported it. I failed to notice the low volume until after I placed it 🤦.
      Even though I ended up ITM, it wasn't until 3p, and only ITM by $0.37 thanks to the low volume, so I lost a cool 30% anyway.
      Fridays are always sketchy trading days 🤣

    regarding long put ATM, is there a glitch in the table regarding worst P&L at -223$ vs initial debit 135$ which should be max loss? or do i miss something? thanks

    • @michaelanthony9797
      @michaelanthony9797 Рік тому +1

      That's for a 10 minute period, so if your long Put was up $323 and then dropped $223 over the next 10 minutes, you would have a "loss" of $223 for that 10 minute period.

      Their other talks already covered OTM. According to their previous talk if the OTM is 1 SD, you have 15% or less chance of any profit. If it is 2 SD the profit chance is 1% or less
