  • The Lexus LX570 is one of my favorite vehicles I've owned. I take a drive around scenic Red Rock National Park to give my thoughts. Then I head off road to test out the LX's legendary off road capabilities that it's inherited from it's sibling, the Land Cruiser.

I got a 2013 LX 570 and it's been the most capable luxury SUV you can take to the trail and off roading without any worries. I have driven it about 50k miles and all I did was the radiator and valley peak coolant leak, I've never been stranded with this truck, and it handles extreme off roading like a dream. I currently have 173k and it's still run like new and it's impressive for a vehicle this age.

My 2010 is fantastic. Best vehicle Ive ever owned, and I also put on LC200 18“ wheels.
I average 16mpg on regular with mixed driving.

Did the same to my 2013 LX. Just changed the wheels and tires. 18 " LC200 wheels and KO2's. Drove with my family from Richmond VA to Moab UT. Did ALL the trails from Moab to St. George for 2 weeks. And still took a day trip to Vegas for the kids. Then drove it back. Developed valley leak after one rough trail. Just topped off the coolant for a week until I got it back to my guy back home. I won't sell mine either.

I own a 2016 Lx570 and those cars are extremely popular where I live which is Saudi Arabia. Spare parts are relatively cheap and easy to work on. I have used mine in an extreme off road conditions in the desert for 8 years now and yet interior is as new and 0 mechanical problems . Maybe the only downside i could think of is that the infotainment system is outdated.

Man, I remember coming across your 2GR swap videos awhile back. I bought a 2009 lx at the height of fake 🦠 prices and have a bit of buyers remorse on the one I ended up with. I also purchased mine thinking I would be doing a Tampa to SW Texas trip annually but my family sold the property and that’s a no go (although I did get to experience Big Bend for one day). I have a lot of cosmetic damage from the prior owner, some rust from them living in Massachusetts, and I’ve had to change water pump, idler pulley, serpentine, starter (one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever done) and my radiator/alternator/valley plate have not been done so it’s only a matter of time. They are killer vehicles and are pretty much the penultimate road tripper/off roader I just wish I was more patient when purchasing and held out for a better example. 😢

I have a GX460 currently, but this is certainly on my radar. Cant go wrong with either vehicle, but I like the bigger size of the LX.

great vehicle ... own a '14 LX ... my forever car; love it! like you said, gas mileage is the only negative, especially in California!

Just be aware that the different tyres almost certainly wouldn't have the same speed rating as the original tyres. All good as long as you don't get out on the highway and try to find out it's max speed.
I've still got the original 18" wheels on my 2008 LX, but changed out the tyres to BF Goodrich A/T's. They've been great, but same issue with speed rating. It's actually a legal modification here in Australia provided the car is a proper 4WD with Low Range (despite our very strict rules compared to the US).
I got around the poor MPG by having an EV for daily driving. Great combination of cars.

I like your wheels please tell me exactly what they are where you got them how much they cost. Some people are putting wheels on. I don’t like method wheels particularly but it seems like they are the new enlightenment of the 2020s. I also would rather not remove my mud it looks like you still have yours on.
Keep on posting! UA-cam will find your target and u will expose the rest to new things👍🤠🇺🇸

They’re TRD Rock Warriors. You can fit 33” 285/70r17 tires without modification and with no rubbing.

Literally the only thing i dont like about this gen is the steering wheel. The design i mean...

You can change it for the later design but it's widely acknowledged that they have a tendency to peel....

@@steffenchristmas1987 yea i've heard... but i drive less than 2000 miles a year haha... I know it will peel eventually but i think i might not have to deal with that problem in some time.
