I love that suspenseful/ominous music you played while on the ferry not knowing if you'll get off the ferry without a kerfuffle of not. I was in suspense during the entire ferry crossing. Whew... glad you made it and changed the music to little happier and lighthearted mood. Glad you're OK and thanks for the exciting video, Trucker Josh.
Josh, when you were coming off that ferry I was hoping your power divider and axle locks weren't frozen! Good job on maintaining your rig, that's the time of the year when all the air problems start.
I understand by what you are saying that the trip was not at all what you may have expected but the fact that you brought them beds, stoves etc. (which to us city people is so easy to get) is a blessing for them. Us Canadians know that Northern reserves have it hard especially without roads but the fact that you took this job on yourself & delivered to those people - you have made many people & even families very happy. Excellent job!
I understand hundred percent why you don't want to put your awesome truck in those kinds of road conditions again anytime soon! But luckily she's a tough one! Love your videos!😀
That was really cool to see these remote areas of Canada I never knew existed. It must of been frustrating to be stuck there so long. But at least it must of been peaceful at night!
I'm a retired Owner Op, ran the norther U.S. in the winter. I used Autosocks the last couple years and I loved them. Literally 5 mins. to put them on and 1 min. to take them off.
I always thought the gravel roads are better in winter than in summer. If the frost is in the ground, they're hard and packed snow will fill up most of the potholes.
Dude, isn't that the truth. Some of the scariest times I had in my life were by myself backing up hills in the dark blind corners blindsided with skid steers etc and no one around cuz you're pushing snow etc. But 3 years later having a beer talking to a buddy it's one of the best stories that you got yourself out of, and because it was so damn scary of course it's entertaining. The worse it is it's almost like the more it's worth it just for the story.
Great content! I have to admit, with the story you told, I was surprised by just a "15 minute delay". I was expecting an hour delay the way you were talking. Glad to see it was relatively brief and you were able to get on the boat!
Thanks for the video Josh it was a very scenic trip up north in your province that I would never get to see. Having said that I feel your frustration over the wasted amount of time when you’re a owner operator of the truck.
Just a little excitement for everyone in the morning. Probably the most excitement that little community got to see. Lol! The view going back was pretty. That snow covered gravel road is smoother than Michigan roads...in the summer! 🤣 Ok ok, maybe not that bad. Lol
Thanks for sharing this amazing trip into the remote wilderness areas, and thanks for being humble about not experiencing this kind of trip before and taking it steady. amazing scenery thanks for the content. Hope the company you work for appreciates the effort you gave. Hope they reimburse you for the down time. Take care, Happy days ahead.
Ran that route to keeyask many times. Rough, no cell or sat signal. Worst during fall/spring. Last time i was there that road broke my truck in neg 20. Got to where it wasnt worth beating my truck up to keep going there. Be safe
This week's vlog could be converted in a Netflix Documentary in the near future... It has everything! Beautiful scenery, suspense, disappointments, clash with nature, and more!
It's been 18 months since you had that experience and I'm just now viewing it. Interesting to me was when cleaning your tail lights the new LED do not seem to melt snow like the old tungsten bulbs. LED failed in traffic lights in many jurisdictions because they did not melt snow.
What an adventure! Very interesting to see the remoteness of Northern Manitoba. Interesting to imagine that if you go straight north from Thompson, there is another 3,000 kilometers of Canada to go. With nothing up there.
A satelitte phone may work up there depending on if there are satellites overhead. One thing you do not want to encounter is a moose lumbering out of the bush
The last few vlogs looked like a challenge for sure. By the looks of it you handled it very well. I must say they were very entertaining, watching you in the great white north . I noticed your views are pretty high on your last 3 videos.. great week for us fans I hope it was just as fun for you as it was for us .. thank you again for the daily vlogs..the TJV family appreciates your hard efforts.
Great videos and glad you got out of there. Amazing like you said, still another two months to Winter! Fascinates me when you drive through all these cold and stormy conditions that you often have you windows open.
Hi Canadian wow I’m glad that you’re safe and out of there ol’ blue said no way I’m going back for winter or summer the road is still messed up .I will definitely never never missed the snow again, from Huntington Beach California Yep the sun is out beautiful day here. 🏖 ☀️ 🌊
Hay Josh don't frown atleast you got to spend a few days in the sticks with the locals enjoying what its like in a modern way how to be primitive. Come on it was fun.
Thanks for taking us along. I can see where you wouldn’t want to take this route again with ‘Ol Blue in the winter. Glad you made it back to the pavement. Enjoyed the video. As always, thanks for sharing you day. Safe travels!
Wouldn’t be to bad to do loads to Thompson, but north of that, I agree probably save that for summer time, although the experience probably wasn’t to much fun, I’m sure it was a good learning experience and every learning experience is good thing to add to our trucking knowledge center, glad you got out safe!!
PR280 is no joke. Apparently they actually made half of it 2 lanes. For whatever reason they did it to the other half that won't be used since Keeyask is done.
I spent this summer in Thompson working for Gardewine and I spent a week on the 280 going back and forth to Gilliam. They would grade it one day and the next it would be all washboard! I would have people passing me doing 110 KPH since the new Mack Anthems had a radar for adaptive cruise control. I was barely able to do 70 KPH without my seat bottoming out.
Awe finally. So glad you were able to board the ferry. Great choice of music as we departed. Loved riding backwards looking out across the water looking at the sun glistening across the water. Beautiful. Somewhere in Northern Manitoba are Polar Bears. Maybe it's a good thing you didn't have cell service. Nothing would have been more aggravating to me then having to see a Burger King commercial for a grilled Whopper or a Pizza Hut commercial, & not be able to get either one. I loved looking over the bridge at the water & listening to your Irish music. Very good choice on a happier note going home! I didn't sleep well thinking of you. I know you are safe, warm, & had plenty of food. My Sister called at the same time your video started. As you are looking forward to getting on the ferry, she was looking forward to getting home too. They were stuck 4/10s of a mile from home due to a trucker not able to get around the bend. His back end was off in a ditch. It's a U shaped bend. Not made for Truckers. The GPS sends them this way. The tow truck driver got in & got the truck out up onto the flat part of road. With no insult to the driver, it's a very tricky bend. The drivers tell us they would get fired if they go off the route the GPS takes them. We couldn't see a company name to call & tell them about our road so they can prevent it from happening. She couldn't see any name the way they were sitting. We are rural on a dead end, & they shouldn't be in our area. We aren't a main artery. The Holidays are coming so they will be coming to go over the river to get Christmas trees, & pine roping now. Your home safe, she's home safe now. We had a 2.6 Earthquake here Teusday in Grayson County, Va. The madked bandit returned to my Sisters one day last week with "4" little babies. Cute he was a s cute he. Wednesday morning her power went out at 3:20am. Our power was suppose to be out 8a-5p later in the day as the power company was working on the line. We weren't affected on this end. The technician was here by 8:15am to see why they had no power. I figured a bird hit the transformer. It was "1" of the baby racoons that died. They gave it a funeral her & her Husband. I could just imagine the grumbling he did while digging a hole for it, would have been enough to cause a earthquake. Extra hugs to all of you. Hopefully you can rest & enjoy the weekend.😊🍂🍁❤🏝❤🍁🍂👵Hoping the palm tree warms you.
Josh, great content, the last two episodes were some of your Best!! Rank’s with your trip to the Yukon with Brett and your Nova Scotia adventure! Thanks
WOW!! What an "adventure" THAT was...!!! I'm sure it was a PAIN having to deal with the snow storm, resulting in you not being able to return home to Brit as soon as you'd have liked!! Have to say, though, from MY point of view, as an Irish person, who's not been to Canada (yet, anyway!!) that the scenery was awesome; enhanced a little by the snow, maybe but spectacular, nonetheless!! Love to you & Brit!! 👍🙂🇮🇪❤️🇨🇦
Trucker Josh, could you get a Garmin InReach unit? That would allow you to stay in touch through satellite. You can send text or emails with it and gives the receiver your exact position. Fairly cheap monthly plan down here in the States.
Perhaps then Russia is the north, and in the same time southern neighbour as well, viewed from the point you were mentioning it. Good luck and safe journey.: Greetings from the Netherlands
Forgive my foolishness in the comments. I only suffer from depression and anxiety. Your videos help me cope with it. My depression is so bad that I almost died twice this year so if cracking jokes is a sin let me be guilty as charged. You rock and are a beautiful person inside and outside just like Britt Baby G isn't born yet make her in your own image and she or he will be just as beautiful.
I'm sure you've had a bit of everything, but I believe the existing drive tires have closed outside lugs, like a nice smooth outside edge. I know when I switch to open edged lugs I did so much better in the snow and mud etc, but then it had more road noise. Do you take that into consideration when you purchase or are you usually happy enough you have enough weight you don't need that open outside lug edge?
Thank you for doing that trip so you could show us the landscape up there. It's a place I (most likely) will never go to. Very beautiful.
Can we just appreciate the content Mr Josh gives us !! Keep it up big brother!!!
Trucker josh not only he delivers his load but he also delivers amazing content thumbs up
I agree with you KHALID ! This was the best 3 video's ! Vielen Dank Josh !
That's one of those trips where you say, been there, done that not doing it again.
That shot of the sun setting on the ferry is beautiful!
Those were the most harrowing Trucker Josh Vlogs ever! I had visions of no more vlogs until spring!
After watching the last few of your videos I swear I will try not to complain about my FALL down here lol.
I had to watch this again to see the "devoted" dog waiting for the ferry. It went too fast when you were in line to go over to see what it was.
Fantastic video josh. Fair play to you for taking that delivery 👍
I'm a retired Owner Op, ran the norther U.S. in the winter. I used Autosocks the last couple years and I loved them. Literally 5 mins. to put them on and 1 min. to take them off.
Josh, it is better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.... Always be prepared.
I always thought the gravel roads are better in winter than in summer. If the frost is in the ground, they're hard and packed snow will fill up most of the potholes.
Yes, COLD, but beautiful! Many more deliveries up there and you might want to consider purchasing some Cross Country Skis. Thanks for the Vlog.
Well Done Josh, you’ll never forget York Factory!
Now i remember why i left the north , I am down southern canada planting my fall crops no shoving snow yet
Sometimes, adventures suck when you're having them. Glad you got out of there finally. The loss of income really sucks for an owner op tho.
Dude, isn't that the truth. Some of the scariest times I had in my life were by myself backing up hills in the dark blind corners blindsided with skid steers etc and no one around cuz you're pushing snow etc. But 3 years later having a beer talking to a buddy it's one of the best stories that you got yourself out of, and because it was so damn scary of course it's entertaining. hey josh welcome to the ice road trucker club
Great content! I have to admit, with the story you told, I was surprised by just a "15 minute delay". I was expecting an hour delay the way you were talking. Glad to see it was relatively brief and you were able to get on the boat!
It does suck you lost 2 days, however
I'm sure that community appreciated you bringing the supplies to them, and that's a bright side.
Thanks for the video Josh it was a very scenic trip up north in your province that I would never get to see. Having said that I feel your frustration over the wasted amount of time when you’re a owner operator of the truck.

Guidy up cowboy Josh fun is coming up enjoy.
You should take runs like this more often. Makes for good content 🤠
Free at last…..we were rooting for you

Hope the company you work for appreciates the effort you gave. Hope they reimburse you for the down time. Take care, Happy days ahead.
Thats one shady ferry "terminal" 😅😅
Thx for the ride along ! God Bless you and your family. 👍👍👍
Ran that route to keeyask many times. Rough, no cell or sat signal. Worst during fall/spring. Last time i was there that road broke my truck in neg 20. Got to where it wasnt worth beating my truck up to keep going there. Be safe

Did anyone offer you a hot meal? You have the patience of Job. You deserve a bonus for that trip.
It's been 18 months since you had that experience and I'm just now viewing it. Interesting to me was when cleaning your tail lights the new LED do not seem to melt snow like the old tungsten bulbs. LED failed in traffic lights in many jurisdictions because they did not melt snow.

That tanker waiting for the ferry is going to have real fun getting up the hill on the other side of the lake.
No kidding!
Would have loved to see if the tanker made it up the hill.
Great video. Reminds me of the show Ice Road Truckers.
We have had a few deliveries to Angle Inlet,MN and no road on US side. So we have to cross by Warroad, MN and go through Canada. Fun in winter
i did 105 clips - 2:30 Am and i am editing while watching TJV :) Thanks Josh - This northern adventure was great - They need roads !
A satelitte phone may work up there depending on if there are satellites overhead. One thing you do not want to encounter is a moose lumbering out of the bush
Hi from Toronto (GTA) Beautiful landscape and great piece of music. 👍
Trucker Josh You’re the Best, We Knew you could do it
The last few vlogs looked like a challenge for sure.
Josh ask the boss to purchase some satellite phones for whenever you or your coworkers get sent into the bush.
Way to go young dad, praying for your safe return
24:30 that is a big problem with LEDs they do not put out enough heat to warm up the lens and help keep them clear of snow.
Great videos and glad you got out of there. Amazing like you said, still another two months to Winter! Fascinates me when you drive through all these cold and stormy conditions that you often have you windows open.
Well one good thing your windshield didn’t have to many bugs on it😊
That was Awesome Josh !!
Quite the adventure!
Just drove from Florida to Connecticut .I wish I was in the wilderness.😂
Hi Canadian wow I’m glad that you’re safe and out of there ol’ blue said no way I’m going back for winter or summer the road is still messed up .I will definitely never never missed the snow again, from Huntington Beach California Yep the sun is out beautiful day here. 🏖 ☀️ 🌊
Josh , gooooooood morning!
To day on NYS I-90 by Utica, NY if passed a company truck of yours Number "3060" headed West! Very cool!
One of your best yet Josh.
Hay Josh don't frown atleast you got to spend a few days in the sticks with the locals enjoying what its like in a modern way how to be primitive. Come on it was fun.
Southern sask has roads like that year round. Terribly rough around here
Great video josh, that was the true meaning of the term "wilderness". I wouldn't go up there again till summer.
I said last week, Don't overthink it!!!
Beautiful landscape👌
I hope you get out safe and then remain down south where it’s warmer good for you being an ice road trucker to this point. 💕
Thanks for taking us along. I can see where you wouldn’t want to take this route again with ‘Ol Blue in the winter. Glad you made it back to the pavement. Enjoyed the video. As always, thanks for sharing you day. Safe travels!

Simply put, awesome video! Enjoyed the suspense, scenery and don’t blame you for not chomping at the bit to get up there again anytime soon!👍👍👍
PR280 is no joke.
Apparently they actually made half of it 2 lanes. For whatever reason they did it to the other half that won't be used since Keeyask is done.
Hey Josh glad you made it across the water. Love the little car on the map thing at the start of the videos.
If I were you I’d never volunteer that trip again !
You should invest in a satellite phone for the remote areas

Masked bandit - was a cute she.
great vid Josh. 😊👍
That map.animation is slick!
Too bad that was not Chevy waiting for you on the other side of the Ferry crossing!

Sounds like a lot of money
What is the deal with the dock dogs hanging out? Glad to see they got you back.
Came here to ask this. Figured he’d mention being a dog lover. It seemed to just walk on the ferry
They're called rez dogs. Every reserve has a few dozen stray dogs running around the rez. These were very friendly
Very crazy very crazy. I feel very bad for you.
Beautiful scenery
Awesome trip and video
Interesting Vlog Josh
Love your video's...greetings from holland,europe...
Woo hooo, Home time 😀
careful on ice roads good buddy
Can you get out of the truck and get some supplies? Is there even a Timmy in York Factory?
Pirates of the Canadian Road or Lake 🌍🧭🇨🇦 🏴☠️ 😇👍😉
Real nice vlog
No Dog Bumpy Vlog!
In the famous words of M. L. K. free at last, thank God we're free at last !
your channel is turning to the ice road trucking show🤣🤣
I have Family in Southern Ontario & They telling me how far they would have to travel just get to other end of Ontario to the north .
Perhaps then Russia is the north, and in the same time southern neighbour as well, viewed from the point you were mentioning it.
Good luck and safe journey.: Greetings from the Netherlands
Josh.. you are privileged to be in a beautifully majestic and bleak winter landscape... Beautiful Canada is right!!
