- An Alabama preacher and politician killed himself Friday two days after being outed for having a secret life he shared online as a “transgender curvy girl.”
F.L. “Bubba” Copeland, who was the mayor of tiny Smiths Station, with a population of just 6,756, as well as the pastor at First Baptist Church in nearby Phenix City, shot himself around 5 p.m. in front of sheriffs who were following him.
Copeland was a married father of three.
His suicide came after police were asked to do a welfare check and began tailing his car.
“He exited the vehicle, produced a handgun, and took his own life,” the sheriff’s office said.

Have you not looked deeper into this story at all? He was exposed for having online accounts where he posted fantasy stories about killing a local woman and stealing her identity. The woman in his stories was someone he knew. He also posted pictures of young boys on "Gender Erotica" forums with photo montages showing what they would look like if they took female hormones. He also stalked and threatened women. He was a total creep. The media is being dishonest by only focusing on the cross-dressing. There was MUCH MORE going on.

I do believe no one knows how they would handle an uncomfortable or adversity situation until they are facing it. Also, the point I was trying to get across was not how he chose to live or what others think as his deception, it was about trying not to judge others. My condolences to the family especially his children. A loss of life is always tragic, I however cannot share sympathy for a grown adult who knew what he was doing, proceeded to get into politics, then go to Church to preach the opposite of what he was doing, got married and had children and then still continued the activities even when outed and saw nothing wrong with it and in Alabama no less. He literally left his kids & wife to deal with both the shame and his own mess to deal with afterwards. He wasnt thinking about 'what if he got caught', he just didnt care at all. Hence why accountability now a days feels like a road less taken unfortunately. If I were judging, I'd be everyone calling him a pervert. How can I lead when I don't follow my own words and teachings? What is my word worth at that point?
