- This was such a fun video to make since I was able to go back in time and review the ORIGINAL Barbie's Beauty Center that I got as a child! The comparison was fun to do and I hope you enjoy this video! I also included some "bonus" footage of other vintage toys that I have. Here is a link to the videos mentioned:

That was so cool… thanks for letting us check it out with you!
@@MiMi-tj5zf I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I was sooooo curious and had to compare them ☺️
The two Barbie heads really looks the same as the original Barbie head. Thanks for the memories I had a Barbie styling head as a child also and had many fun hours playing wit it.
Right?! I was so surprised to see how well they compare. I think that was one item that I had countless hours of fun with. 🥰🤩
I did have this Barbie styling head as a child in the 70’s! I don’t have it anymore but I do have some Crissy dolls! I used to love hair play on dolls. I have a few videos on fixing their hair but there are others out there too. They look beautiful after being fixed up. Oh wow the Sunshine family! I had them too. So adorable. 💕
I’ll have to check out your videos 🤩
Let me start by saying THANK YOU for showing me what I am missing as I had never seen this item for Julie before. 2nd, I LOVED the trip down memory lane and can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the comparison.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it and discovered this super cute piece! I’m working on a walk down memory lane video of everything 1970’s …Julie’s era (mine too lol). It’s been so much fun. I can’t wait to finish editing it so I can post 🥰
I never knew that American Girl
made a doll version of this!
I remember my Mom having these as her childhood toys, especially Chrissy. Bonus!
I’m so glad you watched this video and are now aware of Julie’s styling head. They compare so well, right?
I had all the dolls you showed. The Sunshine Family was my absolute favorite dolls I took them everywhere with me when I’d stay the night at my grandparents houses. I gave my Chrissy and Stacey fashion dolls to a friend. I was just in a Dollar Tree today and they have a doll styling head that’d be awesome for the AG dolls. I should go back and get it.
That’s so cool that you had the sunshine family too 🤩 I really recall enjoying those dolls and all their accessories. Definitely go get that styling head. You can’t beat the price and I think it would be pretty cool for your dolls. 🤩🥰
I received the Barbie Beauty Center for Christmas in 1973 when I was 10 years old. I still have it in pristine condition. As much as I loved it, I never played with for fear of messing it up.
Wow!! You still have it?! That’s wonderful! We could’ve been friends in the 70’s since so close in age.
Are you going to participate in my giveaway? See the last video I posted for details.
I had the Sunshine Family and Chrissy as a child. The Sunshine Family was my favorite dolls. I want to recreate some of their outfits for Julie.
That’s so cool that you had the sunshine family too. I think that would be pretty awesome if you can re-create some of those outfits for Julie. 🤩🥰
I got to admit for the first ever styling head this is pretty neat ❤
Right?! I totally agree and it comes with so many things to keep a little kid busy and I think that make up compact is so freaking adorable!!!
the big and little one look very cute next to each other.
So vintage!!
I think my mom had both the chrissy doll and the barbie head growing up
Such a great video! Now I want to get one too!
Awe thank you! I truly appreciate you taking some time and checking out my video since I know you have been crazy busy over there!! 🥰🤩
@@AGTV4Life you have no idea 😂
I think I have a little bit of an idea. Only because doing videos five days in a row for fashion week. Literally wrecked havoc to my schedule. It was complete insanity over here 🤣😂
So interesting to see how dolls have changed over the years! BONUS
Right?! It’s so interesting.
I had all of this toys. It is so fun seeing it all!
I’m so glad you enjoyed me sharing my favorite toys 🥰
This is my 4th time watching this video (1974 baby) and each time I am blown away by how detailed Julie’s Christmas present was compared to what we are getting today. I have added this to my life of must have’s as well LOL - BONUS
I totally agree with you. The quality is absolutely amazing and I feel so fortunate to have some of these items that were released many years ago.
My collection of 14 AG dolls doesn’t end there…I also love stuffed animals and other dolls such as Madame Alexander and porcelain BONUS
That sounds wonderful! Dolls are the best! I have non-AG dolls too 🥰
I had Chrissy and the Sunshine Family and even back then I LOVED my dolls. I never had the Barbie head but now I think I might need to keep an eye out for Julie's for my dollhouse❤ BONUS
Yay - we had the same toys! Definitely keep an eye out for Julie’s Barbie styling head. How many rooms do you have in your dollhouse and what are they? I’m soooo curious ☺️
@@AGTV4Life I ordered the pre fabbed dollhouse that Target has now and I plan to work on "customizing" it into at least the vibe of my grandparent's late 40s farmhouse. My happy place as a kid
I was never into styling heads as a kid I think I may have had one growing up but yeah theybwerent my cup of tea I do notice that doller store still sell mini styling heads I guess uf you are on a budget and want one for your dolls but the quality wouldn't be as good as the barbie one made for Julie. ❤❤❤❤
Oh yeah, I noticed those little styling heads in the dollar tree as well. I wonder who actually buys them there’s not too much to style on those little tiny things lol
I got my niece one of those princess heads like that. i think she likes it. BTW BONUS
I had all the dolls, the Christi doll and the Barbie beauty center is a reason why I started my career in Cosmetology. Thank you sweet friend . Are you thinking you’re from somewhere in New England? I’m from New Hampshire and I hear that New England accent. Lol
Yay!! You had all the same dolls to and yes I am originally from Rhode Island.😁🥰
I never had the Barbie head. I have some miniature styling heads for Julie and the other dolls I bought from Dollar Tree 7 years ago or so. The scale is pretty good. I also have a Baby Crissy (who wears my granddaughter's clothes) and an Ideal Cinnamon doll. Cinnamon is Crissy's younger cousin (I think). I got these dolls about 5 years ago. I was not into play dolls when Crissy came out as I was about 13 or so. I fell in love with Cinnamon's face sculpt. A famous sculptor, Neil Estern, designed her face and that of many Ideal dolls. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Estern
Thank you for sharing! The Dollar Tree styling heads seem like a good alternative. I never heard about the cinnamon doll and read about the artist - thank you for that. 🥰
Do you store these styling heads in the box or on display? BONUS
The big one stays in the box and the little one I display in Julie’s room ☺️
@@AGTV4Life thats awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Julie was "born" in 64
Oh, that’s interesting because my research showed 1966. I’ll have to go back and check my notes. Maybe I missed something Thank you
@@AGTV4Life actually I might be wrong. I need to read her stories again to be sure. I'm just going by American Girl's description of her being a 10 yr old in 1974.
I never had a styling head but some of my friends had them, so I definitely played with them. The sunshine family looks really familiar. I might have had them or maybe a friend did. I’m sure I’ve played with them before. What a fun time the 70’s were!
