Barbie super collector has over 2,400 dolls!

- The "Barbie" movie might be all the craze right now, but Cheryl Burnett’s love of Barbie goes way back. For almost 30 years, she’s been creating a Barbie dream collection in her Atascocita home.
"I had one growing up but she got lost somehow," said Burnett. "I rediscovered her back in 1995 in a magazine ad and that was Rapunzel Barbie that I went to my local Toys 'R Us store and found. I also bought a Maria from the Sound of Music and a Peppermint Princess Barbie and that’s what started my collection."
Since then, Burnett has amassed a collection of around 2,400 Barbie dolls. Most are boxed and kept in several rooms throughout her home, although some are on display. She likes to collect one-of-a-kind Barbies, from Silkstone to platinum labels and vintage.
"Barbie is 64 and I myself buy her for the fashion," said Burnett. "Barbie is the largest fashion house in the world."
One of her favorites is a brunette Barbie that came out in 1959 at Toy Fair in New York.
"Only about 300,000 were produced and they made both blonde and brunette," she said. "More blondes of course. But I have a rare brunette doll, hand-painted, no touch-ups and in her original bathing suit."
She says she one day hopes to pass down her collection to her granddaughter.
"Nowadays I think, you know, Barbie can be anything and so girls can be anything too," she said. "I think that’s the message that Mattel wants to get out, that girls rule the world, and they can be whatever they want."

Wow! Thanks for sharing this!!! I hope to one day be able to inventory my 100s of Barbies and display them like this! I've been collecting for 17 years but ran out of display room in 2016. They're now in storage. Then, from 2020-2023 I (somehow) collected a few 100 more Barbies! Channels like this inspire me to get mine out of storage and display them! I might even create a channel documenting my process! Thanks again!

I collect Barbie dolls I have almost a hundred black Barbie dolls .I have been collecting them ever since 1995. I even have one of my Barbie dolls from 1976.

I’m so sorry they are guilting you. I’m not sure your age (if parents are an issue). Show your family you are responsible in all other parts of your life (finances, living, real-world things).
This is a hobby, like the many ones out in the world. There could be many worse things you choose to do with your life (again, if you are young & have to explain).
If you are an adult in charge of your own finances, don’t let them make you feel bad! Budget what is doable after life expenses each month. Enjoy your passion at your own pace. If collecting Barbie(s) is what you want to do, then go for it!❤

Excellent video! Recently my daughter wanted to get her Cindy doll collection valued , a woman contacted my daughter from the Doll and Musical instrument agency in Vancouver, they requested we send pictures of all 37 doll in her collection with a value fee of 350$ Canadian, . Approximately a woman telephoned my daughter from their value team and they told her the dolls were worthless because she had cut the hair of some and the others were covered in damage which is untrue. My daughter is absolutely devastated. Please help!
