Great thanks Daddy Smith for sharing this! I was getting hopeless when my treadmill was getting stopped after 8 seconds of running each time, I found this video and checked the speed sensor. In my case it was the other side of the cable jumper that got loose and I just re sit the jumper properly on to the pins, that's it! It started to work.
My Pro-form crosswalk 3.0 XT treadmill was working ,had not used in weeks .now it won't work ..The Panel does light up .when I turn it on the belt will run about 30 seconds then quit .Can you help me ?
Thanks SO much! The hardest part was getting the front cover (cowl) off of the motor compartment! On my Nordictrac C2270 there are 3 screws going across the front on the bottom edge of the cover and then there are 2 screws on each side that you can only access from underneath. They have deepest holes so you can't see the screw heads unless you shine a light in the holes they're hiding in! It took me a good hour to figure that out. After that I just had to figure out where the flywheel sensor was by following the wire that went to that side of the motor. It would have been a 5 minute job if I knew about the hidden screws. I noticed 2 of the 4 hidden screws were missing. I didn't bother putting them back in and I ran the treadmill afterwards without it bothering anything.
This helped me. That's the reed switch, and I messed with mine and it cut off sometimes still, so I just unplugged it at the control board. Doesn't cutoff and works great for me, appreciate you sharing the info.
I had a related problem where the wheel next to the sensor had a lot of dust and fluff which no doubt triggered the sensor more than needed and caused the logic board to stop the motor. Once removed, I was able to do a full workout without interruption. We'll see how it goes but it seems like this was the issue. Thanks for pointing this out!
My treadmill got stopped suddenly today. After 40 minutes running and walking on it. Dont know what happen but I just had it lubricant. Hopefully it will be alright 🤞🏼
Mine was a loose connector on the power switch. Thanks for the video it triggered me to look at the wire connectors. Thank you. My Error was E8 on the Ancheer treadmill. Suggesting belts are too tight.
YO! I think that fixed my problem - thing almost killed me lol stopping suddenly - yet I checked my censor was damn near touching the wheel --pushed it flush and it seems to be working - I still need to figure out how to loooob it yet another day = thanx man
I have the same exact treadmill and problem as you do. The sensor is not flush but about 1/2" away from the magnet. I will try it flush when I get home. Thanks for the tip.
My treadmill kept stopping 5-10 seconds after starting at 3. I took off the cover and discovered dust. I used an air aerosol spray to clear out the dust. It’s working again. I hope that the dust was the only problem. 🤞🏼There was nothing wrong with the wire mentioned in the video.
That's speedometer sensor. Its function is to detect motion and if it doesn't, the board is supposed to turn the motor off. The reason it moves is the constant vibration from the motor in a long time that loosen the screws and rotate the sensor. you need to tight all screws every year.
The Proform Crosswalk I picked up at the Restore for $65 was stopping after about 3 minutes of use; a lot faster if all I wanted to do was take a stroll on it while I read a book. I checked the speed indicator, which on mine is a square piece of plastic next to the deck belt wheel, moved it around, changed the distance, disconnected it from the board. No fix. I had already lubed the belt so assumed no problem there. Tried to pick up the belt, too tight so loosened it to about 2” of lift in center and aligned it by tightening up one side a bit more to force the belt towards the center (like on a belt sander). No fix but it was easier to roll the belt around with my hand. Then my ancient mechanic eye spotted a misaligned belt. Could not let that go, so marked the motor bracket with a black marker so I could tighten it up at the same spot, loosened the 9/16 bolt, and realigned the longitudinally-toothed belt. But, me and my favorite pry bar simply could not get that motor back into place within my marks so I settled for best I could do, which was a good quarter inch off. Wyatt a-ya-know! The treadmill works fine now! Just guessing here, but I think the too-tight and misaligned belt was putting so much pressure on the motor that the too-many-amps detector was shutting it down (if I stepped off of it it would start right back up). As an aside, the very first problem I encountered with the treadmill was a mystery shutdown that I finally figured out by getting on the floor with the red reset rocker switch where I could see that the case and reset switch were misaligned. The case vibration would hit the switch when I was jogging. Cut away a little bit of plastic and no more problem.

That is the solid state speed sensor. Only tells you mph. Should have nothing to do with stopping treadmill. You must have some heat cutoff switch that will cut out when too hot and then resets sleet cooling down. Same type of circuit breaker used in clothes dryers , dishwashers and other electronic equipment.
this is common behavior for a treadmill plugged into an Arc-fault breaker. Find a circut in the house that is not GFCI or Arc-fault and your problem is solved. If you can't move the treadmill to a circut that is not Arc-fault or GFCI then swap the breaker.
My treadmill runs fine as long as no one is running on it The moment some one start walking or running for fer seconds or minutes it will work then it stops and shows e3 I checked the sensor and cleaned it no use Any idea of what the issue is?
Daddy Smith...we have a sportcraft tx 50rc treadmill with no remote control It was a gift n worked fine but suddenly stopped working showing E3 It starts every time but shuts down 3 seconds after running? Any advice is appreciated greatly! Thanks in advance
I would start with something easy such as lubricating the belt. 2, Try plugging it into a different outlet, 3, open the Treadmill motor compartment and see if there is anything in there that smells burnt another thing is listen to the motor is it making any noise.
My proform treadmill has the same issue where it slows down/shuts off after a minute or so, but I don’t have one of those switches to push back into place on my model. Any ideas what my issue may be?
Daddy smith Model is a Pro-form crosswalk 395. If I let it run for maybe 5-10 minutes before hopping on I can use it as normal but I noticed a burning smell coming from the treadmill also. And ideas on what that may be?
I don’t have the same treadmill model, it is a NordicTrack model, but mine also just starts at full speed and doesn’t slowdown. Looking for a solution if anyone has any ideas. All I know is it was working fine, then my sis decided to start cleaning the control panel while the machine was still powered on (first mistake). She claims it just started up and then went to full speed as she cleaned it. We turned it off and every time after that when we turn it back on, it still does this. Not sure if the cleaning solution short circuited something with the speed sensor, but it wasn’t near the motor, and I doubt she used much liquid at all.
I think you just saved me a $200-$500 repair charge! Thank you so much!
I love that you have this simple fix! Wish it was my issue. I'm sure it has helped a lot of people though! Thank you for sharing!

Well, guess what, it stopped again. One minute into my warm up walk it stopped. What is going on?
How old is your Treadmill, over eight years old could be your control board.

Thank you sir. Seems mine was a bit too close. I pushed the sensor back away from the wheel and it stays on now.

Nice thanks.
I think your playing with an inductive proximity switch and this switch will be providing you with a belt reference speed for drive control

Good information
Mine always shuts off after 20 to 30 minutes. Been doing it for years. I changed belt and circuit breaker. I also checked this issue. Nothing works.

Sir.Pllease guide me what issue it could be?.
Treadmill counts till 11 digit & then shows L5 error.NO BELT MOVEMENT AT ALL.
My treadmill is stopping after two three minutes with load. Without load it is working smoothly. I have oiled the belts already.
Try plugging into another wall outlet. Also check the motor for overheating.

Check your motor for overheating, have you noticed any burning smell from the motor you might have to take off the case.
I have this issues however treadmill is still starting fast and stopping. Golds Gym Advantage
Have you been able to figure your issue out? Mine runs at full speed for 1 second, then the belt stops but the display keeps going

Well check your main board. Push the "minus" speed button and the "stop" button simultaneously. Good luck.

Make sure your sensor is working and the magnet is still in place.
What if that sensor isn’t on mine? Not missing. Just don’t have one there
Goto to Google and type in speed sensor for your model Treadmill and it should show where it is located. Click images on google.
Treadmill shows E02 after some time when run and stop what should do
Did it cut off when you were on it or did it turn off also when you took weight off?
Both it was cutting off within 2 minutes while I was on it and about two or three minutes when I was off, it works great great since the fix
My treadmill has a problem of speed increase too full speed, when the speed is not increase by us.
