I really hope Etho joins the next season of VH SMP, he’s seemingly loving the pack and has a great dynamic with Iskall so I feel he’d bring a lot to it
Birthday candle trinket that adds 10 seconds to the cake timer when consuming a cake. 40 cakes is 400 seconds or 6 minutes 40 seconds. Would you use the added time to progress further into the dungeon with stronger mobs challenging your progress or does your greed take over and you use your time for looting more chests? The trinket can help in the rooms that the cake is hard to find giving you a moment of forgiveness or on a great run the added time saves you in the moments were seconds count.
How does Etho get so good at new games so quickly... he literally just started playing and can handle / isn't intimidated by an extreme dungeon. His gear is even better than Iskall's and he's even got callouts!
Etho is so chill and humble lol. He doesnt obsess over sucess and is just trying to have fun and entertain others. Why would he be scared, hes playing a game.

Maybe you could set a rule for cake spawning to require a certain number of air blocks above. Kind of like the requirements for getting treasure when fishing.

So I haven't gotten far in VH but watching the cake vaults has really been a highlight for me on the channel, I'd like to suggest: what if crake pedestals appeared every ten rooms but you couldnt turn around? so it still had that back and forth of risking going forward when you see a pedestal. you could also keep the rng but maybe add protection in that it will appear guaranteed every ten. just food for thought! cake vaults are already my favorite to watch! cant wait to play them
That would get rid of one of the strategic aspects of the vault tho; "Do I loot now or try to make the chests better and risk not having enough time to return to loot?" The cake vaults aren't just memey runs for as many cakes as possible, the looting and improving the chests are important aspects as well.
I hope a change to cake vaults is there is a small chance to get a time addition when you eat a cake, this way it favours running through rooms to find a crake pedestal which Imo is a better mechanic
Idk how 130 cakes is the community record. That's at least 5 cakes per minute, and even with dash it takes 7-10 seconds to get from room to room. Those cakes had to have been right at the entrance to every room

To me, VH is the proof that minecraft os indeed a game engine… RNG is just an inevitable part of games, without it the games would become SO BORING. The only way to sorta get it out is use the shuffle bag method, but it gets boring real quick… About what Etho said, you could have like an item that is guaranteed to be in a random POI chest on a vault after given lvl, but if the vault contains the item is shuffle bagged every X vault, so you will be surprised every time and you will probably not find it
Iskall, a change to the cake runs that would be nice is to refill some food haunches when eating cake. As well as a small heart regen. Or add a skill or amor mods to give more regin when cakes or cupcakes. This way people are inclined to create cake amor sets different from normal dungeon sets as well as you could add mob affinity to amor peices to make mobs target a certain person with higher priority and a skill that taunts all mobs in a certain radius giving birth to a tank class. Or a modifier that increases damage percentage per distance away from a mob giving birth to the range class. It would be nice to see a group of people change their gear setup and figure out how to conquer Vaults as a team with different classes. Right now people just eneter a vault together and do their own thing in a way, but classes would create a more comradery of players.
I was thinking more like you build someone that mildly likes dragon a huge dragon shaped cake that's 90% fondant and rice Krispys whilst yelling about family in a new York Italian accent
Imagine a selfish trinket that gives other party members a small regin effect but only gives the wearer a small boost in hearts / hp. Would you use the trinket to boost the party or would you choose a different trinket to focus on yourself?
I'm guessing no because that bottom part of the x mark is loaded in after the main room so I think the cake has to generate in an area that's already loaded when the room is
How do you get the cooldown icons to show up over your hotbar? I've recently been playing, and struggle with trying to use abilities on cooldown. I didn't realize that was a thing
