In Quebec, this type of house is called semi-detached. A duplex is where you have a house with an appartment on the main floor and another one above, with is own separate entry.
Seen in Ontario never heard of a duplex we always called him semis
In India we say duplex that one suit ground floor amd first floor with half second floor. And no separate entry but entry from Ground floor only.
Montreal lol
Same in the UK. They are called semi detached. The aren’t particularly small.
sa pinas ang tawag jan...duplex
In my country duplex is a flat/apartment with a upper floor. And the house you are talking about is called twin villa.
No i live in a duplex that has a basment, 1st floor 2nd floor and attic.
Yeah same here !
I thought its a townhouse
We call it a duplex over here
which country you live in bro
You know what, i really love the way when you are speaking or talking. Full of happiness
In England we call these semi-detached houses because they’re almost everywhere (unless you’re wealthy).
In Toronto this thing would sell for around 2 million dollars.
Are these prices per year month or 1 time payment
@@victoriakouassi4320
Per a day 😂😂
@@buckshot226 at this point I believe this
1 million at most. It is not large one.
In my country Bosna (Europa) you can bye this house maby for 500.000 euro
yeah i'm in Canada, and we don't consider these houses a duplex... usually it's a house split into upper and lower level apartments. was surprised to see you refer to this house as a duplex.
Hey Mark, in Toronto, we have detached, semi-detached, duplex, triplex, townhouse which are freehold properties, also POTL (Parcel Of Tied Land) which are freehold townhouses with common elements and small monthly fees ($120 a month), and condo townhouse, condo apartment which have maintenance fees to cover a lot of amenities like gym, concierge, security, golf course, swimming pools, sauna and the like.
That is called a semi detached in Canada not a duplex. A duplex is one unit on top of another. 2 units in one property. Owner normally lives in one and rents the other.
James you are right... this guy doesn’t know.... misleading information....
Hi if i buy semi detached in Canada..is that property forever mine ?
excuse me, you are wrong, this is a duplex in Calgary or in Edmonton it's a house split in two, one at the side of the other...
I prefer duplex. Surroundings are calm and quiet. 🌃🎋.
Love Canada, from South Asia
buying a house in Canada. easy. if you intend on living in a major city like Vancouver then you need to win lotto to even think about it. I wouldn't invest a dime here.
Beautiful and lovely houses.
The bathroom should have been where the wardrobe is in the main bedroom as it has a window. Window isn't necessary for wardrobe. Standard layout, I do like it though.
Canadian houses're beautiful . They're lovely
That's a semi detached! A duplex is a property where there are 2 rental unit. Often the owner lives in one and rents out the other. Some duplex are up/ down, back/ front, and sometimes side by side.
Thanks for the lesson very useful I have never watched any video in English better than this
It’s also known as semidetached as In attached from one side not from the other
A very nice video giving much information on houses being cheap but gorgeous.
These are NOT Duplexes. They are TWINS. A Duplex is a 2 story building with separate entrances to each floor. At least that's what we call it down south in the US.
Love u bro the way u show the duplex house n the way u explain ........
Nice to know that these same kind of houses are typical in my country as well. in fact, the government offers these duplexes to pay in life long monthly installments, but with one difference, they do not have basement and no second floor. in reality, the only thing in common is the big thick wall in the middle that sets you apart from your loud neighbor.
Nice little house love that the washer and dryer is tuck away in a cupboard out of the way would suit me as a single person..never like mansions or anything to large love it cosey and that's what I'm seeing.
Duplex means a house with a fisrt and a second floor maybe also a basement. What you describe is a twin villa duplex
the importance is to be close to main services and facilities
I like the layout & size of this one.. fairly decent especially for a startup home.
Anyway, nice to know that the concept of Duplex is the same here in Asia. 2 units beside each other and is only separated by a wall and looks like a single house from the outside.
Im Brazilian and I want to visit Canada :D 🇧🇷💚❤🇨🇦
Hi mate.. Nice informative video.. Good to see u making these kinda videos. Lots of luv for work. Especially ur humorous jokes in between.. Keep it up.. Thumbs up
This is called a semi-detached. Duplex is like an apartment but not so high up, with apartment on the bottom and top. (In Toronto)
I live in a duplex it is side by side houses one story or two stories separately run independently two separate addresses and property lines depending on where you live I live in the US Florida to be exact
I have visited a several apartments in Canada, and one thing that caught my attention, was the fact that there's no electrical wiring for lighting in the bedrooms, so the people need to buy floor lamps.
Ad Libitum they don't have ceiling lights?
@@LucasFernandez-fk8se we do have ceiling lights 😁
Pls Show Canada village house, inside
Prefer duplex. Beautiful and lovely house.
Hi! In my country, Duplex is like the house you showed in your video. I've lived once in a Duplex in Tanger.
I can't believe the real estate agency locked the basement. Basements are my favourite part of a Canadian home! They've got to up their game, let them know.
Nice and cozy duplex...do they sell them fully furbished?-and i wonder where the central heating is...btw I love u teaching us some new vocabulary every lesson..keep it up teacher
I'm not sure if they sell them fully furnished. Probably not in most cases. The central heating is in the basement.
@@MadEnglishTV if there's a forced air or hydronic central heating system it is nearly always located in the basement here in Canada. Of course electric baseboard heating is fairly common in parts of the country too.
a duplex like this, the people who provided the furniture for the model would want to sell it to you
@@MadEnglishTV hello
Hi
It's nice and simple, for a short while it's good ,but it's not my type I prefer more classy one with a lots of details and furniture.🏰
Thanks, you seem very kind , your English is understandable!!!
It'll be more than $2,000,000 in toronto 😨
A very beautiful home and a well made video. I pray I own a house like this one day. Thank you for showing us around😊
Wow wow
Looks nice inside
Am watching from Uganda 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
Anyway I never owned any property so I didn't know what was Duplex....good to have understanding before buying property.
What surprised me is the lack of a vestibule. Every Polish house has got it - it is a small "room" between doors and house to stop gusts of winds in winter, so when you open the doors, the house does not become cold instantly. The wind stops at the doors between the vestibule and the rest of the house. The vestibule can have 2-8 m2.
Wow! That's a great idea! 😃😃
Because this is Canada not Poland, they can afford the heat !!!!!
Stores in Canada have vestibules. Not houses, not sure why.
thank you for your video. It was very well explained
Hi Mark! You told us that you traveled a lot of around Europe. Have you ever visited Eastern Europe? I live in Ukraine, this country has centuries of history. Ancient buildings and architecture, narrow streets with cobblestones. If you bored with canadian's "boxes" you have to visit our cities, especially Lviv and Kyiv.
Thank you so much! 😃😃Yes, I've been in Romania and Bulgaria. I love Eastern Europe!
Nice video well utility of space of duplex
Your definition of a "Duplex" is correct according to Wikipedia, but as a Canadian, a duplex is always referred to as a single structure with a single deed to the land, one front and back yard but contains two dwellings, usually one on top of the other. A single structure with three dwellings is referred to as a Triplex. Two dwellings side-by-side, attached by a shared wall that have separate land deeds and each has their own front and back yard is referred to as a "Semi-detached" home rather than a "Detached" home that is a single building for the purpose of a single dwelling on a single lot. And to answer your other question, Yes! you can hear your neighbour through the walls of a semi-detached home. Finally, If the home your showing is located in Toronto, it's valued at about $1.3 Million.
We call them “Semi-Detached” in the UK !
Fuck the UK
We call them semi’s in Toronto too
@@Mrsnrub-qq9jq wow one angry person against another country
The house very nice, I like Canada 🇨🇦, I from Laos 🇱🇦 hope to visit here
😃😃
Names and prices vary a lot between Canadian provinces and cities.
hii
I want to know that every time when you talk about how much something costs, is it USD or CAD?
Canadian. :)
Lovely house, so simple & cute. I want make it that house, thanx you

In France we definitely have a different definition of “duplex” that is a two story house full stop 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Same here.
Yes exactly the same in India too 👍
Same in UK.

Hello beautiful How are you
I visit this place Woww. So beautiful .
In my country you get a big house with yard space everything for about 100,000 dollars
Which country is that ?
@@musicdoc6507 Guyana
@@61574 probably because it's a country no one wants to move to.
@@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298 not at all i invite you to come to my country beautiful Guyana
@@61574 what I mean is it is not currently desirable. That's why prices are rock bottom. It's not in demand. Guyana may be beautiful and I'm sure it is but no one is currently leaving their country saying they're emigrating to Guyana.
Absolutely beautiful house I love it ❤️❤️
Lovely video, good explanation ❤️💙❤️🎉🎉🎈🎊🎈🎊❤️💙
House tour of your house on your next video please! I’ll wait on that. Thanks a million in advance 😃
👍 good idea.
Love this duplex it's a great buy. 👍👍
Hey Mark, do you have semi-detached houses in Alberta? Semi-detached houses are 2 houses attached with one shared wall in Toronto something like duplex but 2 different owners. I think a duplex is owned by one owner. That's the difference, I think.
Beautiful.
I have to admit that at first I was really turned off to the whole suburban housing thing in places like Toronto because from aerial images, it just looks almost like a hive or a maze, but thanks to videos like yours, I have changed my mind and feel these communities are actually very nice clean quiet place to live.
Of course, I wish I had the money..... but then again I wish for other things too...
Thanks for making this video.
Just a semi detatched and the joining walls are only thin internal walls.
These are called semi-detached in Ontario. A duplex is up and down.
Great video Mark! Beatiful duplex It's seem Very comfortable.
😃😃
This was a helpful video, thanks.
This is a semi attached not a duplex. Duplex is a house that’s converted into 2 apartments. And a triplex is 3 apartments.
In UK duplex is a flat over two floors..
The master bedroom is big? You can barely fit the bed in and walk around it ffs
Our first home was a duplex (a "semi-detached", as it's called in Quebec, Canada) similar to this (not quite as nice! hah) We had 3 bedrooms upstairs, plus space for a fourth in the finished basement). Bought it for $94,000(!) in 1993. We moved out 11 years later shortly after having our third child.
Wow! 😃😃
hiii
You rotate the camera quickly, hard to see. Thanks!
Good one
I think the price of condos are much higher .. or it depends in which area the condo is
I found you today morning. Very good explanation, please keep it up.
😃😃
I watched the movie "Duplex" and it was hilarious.
This duplex is really nice
How long it takes to buy something like this for a working couple with medium salaries
nice house,loved
Duplex in Europe usually is an apartment on two floors...
Is this you're home?? And when you got it was it furnished? Please reply it'll really help.
Hello beautiful How are you
it's called side by side in Manitoba
good informatic vedeo
Interesting. In Ontario we call it semi-detached house.
Hey Mark! Thanks a lot! The lesson was very interesting. Have a nice day and take care!
Hi George! Thanks! Have a great day in Peter!
@@MadEnglishTV Hi Mark! Thanks for the reply! I hope it's not too cold in Calgary!
That would go for around a million in Toronto
Waaaaaaay more. Try 1.4 to 1.6 million. Toronto real estate is a complete shitshow.😧 (price wise)
Way more than that
That's a semi-detached in Ontario, a duplex is a house made up of two separate apartments
This House Is Very Good But You Have No Say In This Video Is Exact City, Province And Location In Canada ?
I done the tapieng for the drywall I'n these side buy sides
Very good video.
I want to know price including all fecilities.
So these new developments have a show-house with the doors unlocked at all times and people can go inside to see? You don't have to call the agent to unlock the door?
Beautiful house!
In Mumbai you will only get 1bhk at 1 million dollars minimum
beautiful house i love it
America and Canada such well off and popular countries in all over the world, so i like too much.........
So beautiful house
Mad English TV: The Doors Jim Morrison 's "Not to Touch the Earth " Yeap..Let's RUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!
Hi. In the kitchen instead of island can we call it like countertops ? The space for preparing food
The prices are not that high Mark. If compared to our prices in Slovakia.
The only difference is that we earn 600- 1000 euros a month. I guess the incomes are much pretty higher in Canada 😂
Machan Allah amazing bro 👍
so nice thanks ☺
Beautiful home ! I'm trying to move to Calgary actually - funny that's where this is ! Also I laughed when you waved at yourself in the mirror and said Hello😂 Too cute
Your so funny
I think if we ever own a house, the one which has space : the so-called standalone house is the best otherwise let's pay rent 😃🤣🤣🤣
thank you so much
Marvelous and thanks 🙏 🌸
