I don't know why I'm just now realizing this, but the only reason he confronts the red is because of his daughter. The innocence of a child can recognize the injustice the adults ignore, and her dad responds because he knows she is the future, and he wants that future to be different.
As a girl that combs and caresses with her fingers and braids her friend's hair in the dark in class while watching a film and telling her I love her 'cause she down I totally agree

I kind of want to see something like Sweeney Todd dissected by these guys on how revenge and just manipulative/toxic behaviors in general negatively effect everyone around the person/people like that.
Yes!! Especially since Ms. Lovett and Sweeney’s relationship is super toxic from both sides; she lies to him because she wants him for herself, as well as being the source/enabler for a lot of his most awful actions; and Sweeney is so hollowed out by grief and hatred that he CAN’T really have a relationship of any kind with anybody.
Because of this movie I've found Denzel Washington and fell in love in his performance, now he's my favorite actor! He delivered perfect, combined, compressed message without violent or shocking acting, but with confidence and simplicity, and that's the reason the message feels strong and yet not abusive. He may look harsh but he's more and it's obvious at the end of the movie. I really appreciate him being consequent from the beginning. To stand by your values is very important matter in life.
This is one of my favorite movies, and I don't even give a crap about football. The friendships built here were so realistic and powerful, it's so uplifting!
I love this series, but a little sad that you did not talk about the daughter. She went from "My dad has a lot of offers, and certainly no time for you" to watching game films with Denzel but "I hate playing with dolls" to telling her father "Now ain't the time to be proud" to the end after the win when the 2 daughters hug, however brief it was.
Watched this movie for the first time in year 8 PE class when it was too hot to go outside. Was expecting it to have to do a theory assignment, but then we were told we were watching a movie. Thought it would be another boring sports movie, but ended up absolutely loving it! It was so emotionally impactful, about so much more than just football. I think the most impactful scene for me was when the Gerry Bertier (team captain) stood up to his racist friends when they told his not to hand out with his teammates.
Missed one of my favorite scenes from this film-Gary in the hospital declaring Julius to be his brother, and in turn Gary’s girlfriend coming to shake Julius’ hand on the field. So many great moments in this film😍😍
The thing I like is that coach Boone really pushed them in the right direction, he gave them a reality check, but the boys still did it themselves, they taught themselves to get along with each other, and the results spoke for themselves
"If you're growing a relationship garden conflict is like manure; it stinks and nobody likes it but it's necessary for growth." - Jonathan Decker Thank you, Jonathan & Alan, for another amazing episode and a special thanks to today's guest, James Curran, for sharing his thoughts and time as well. Y'all take care, stay healthy, and be encouraged. (Smile)
The one thing and I wish they would’ve shown and talked about was the “which boys you’re talking about scene” and the game just before it.Because it shows the other side of equality ,fairnessMeans like Boone says I’m a mean cuss but “I’m a mean cuss with everybody on that field” and then he goes on to say you’re not doing them a favor by doing them favors.
you are right, that scene hits different when you are a POC because we know just how hard life is, and raising kids, we can't show them the rainbows. we gotta show them the storms first.
I love that they mention that the captain was raised in a culture where whites had superiority. A lot of these people frankly didn't know any better. They were told all their lives a certain way to live. It's the people who searched, learned, reached, poured out their hearts, that made the difference. People who forgot themselves and wanted that change. And thank goodness...
I’m so glad you had a black man for perspective. I am a woman of color but I am not black or from the US (rather another place of the americas) and I know it’s not the job of black people to educate non-black people on their struggle but I always appreciate when their perspective is shared to try to get a more personal perspective on their day to day life and the fear, and normalization of that fear, they are forced to deal with at an way to early of a stage of their life. I’m glad remember the titans is a kids movie because if black children are being told how to act to be kept alive because of racism, non-black children can at least be taught what racism is. There is no age minimum when racism can be taught because racism affects even those who are not born yet.
I agree completely, well-said! Black people are always expected to do the emotional labor of educating people and dismantling racism, when really everybody should be doing their part to spread awareness and understanding. If you start from a young age, it will be natural.
Racism is a learned behaviour, so teaching them what it is and that it’s wrong needs to happen first. I’m mixed race in Ireland and have been assured it’s just “banter” but it’s definitely bad craic and it took me a while to realise I wasn’t “just sensitive.” Definitely important.
@@laurajaynenolan2149 Exactly! Never let anybody tell you that your valid criticisms of racist behavior are you being “too sensitive.” That’s just their excuse for not wanting to reflect on their own actions.
Yeah nice to see the video go that way too. The guest wasn't asked to explain everything, but just given a platform here, so it wouldn't just be two white guys maybe missing out on a lot of what the movie's saying.
I dony even know if my school does senior quotes, probably not since I graduate in a month and haven't heard anything about it. But if it comes up I'm stealing this idea thank you
When I was in middle school my art teacher LOVED Remember the Titans. The last week of school he played it on repeat. Over and over and over for every class all week long. I got a little burned out on it, but you guys have given me a new appreciation for it. For the first time in almost 20 years I actually want to watch it.
I watched this first with my mom and dad when it came on tv, and shortly after, my 8th grade math teacher decided to reward us with a movie day for completing the TAKS test (state testing to pass to the next grade). And it was this movie. I went to a school where there were a lot of tensions between students for a plethora of reasons, but when this film was over, my class left in stunned silence, contemplating how easy it truly was to be kind to each other. I feel that every middle school kid should grow up with this movie in their lexicon - it would put their world in such a great perspective.
Rewatching this during a time I'm having some serious conflict with my supervisor (they have that unhealthy pride John mentions) and man, that "Attitude reflects leadership" line hit me so hard. They're harassing me and torpedoing my ability to do my job, and I've had to retreat from putting my best foot forward to stay out of the line of fire, and watching this I realize it is most definitely a case where my attitude changed as a reflection of their "leadership". _(If only I could get them to watch this, and the Brave video about communicating! haha)_
I know that feeling. Here recently, one of my bosses has been taking out her frustrations in the way she treats myself and some of my coworkers - making me clean the bathroom twice over because a single thing wasn't done, refusing lunch breaks on 7 hour shifts, getting on hand and foot with a rag to clean dust off our equipment, huge cleaning lists that no two people can accomplish, stuff like that. And if it's not done or even done the way she likes, we shrink away at what she dishes out. And it's severely impacted our passion for work and helping our customers. Stepping away from doing your job well to keep out of the line of fire is all too familiar.
This movie is so well streamlined and honed for its message. I can't think of a single scene that doesn't develop themes for the film, even if it doesn't feel like the plot is moving. Coach Boones speech at Gettysburg is one of my favorite moments in the film, along with "cant you tell? This is my brother". But I do get chills every time the title line comes up, just because of the delivery. Not only of the line but the buildup to, "You blitz ALL NIGHT!" And I love how the emphasis in the actual line isn't on the title, so it fits into the dialogue even better "you make *sure* they remember, FOREVER, the night they played the Titans"
This was the only movie my school had and every rainy lunch time, every PE class, every time a teacher just did not want to deal with us that day, the TV would get wheeled out and Remember The Titans was played. And we did not complain!! Our entire school could recite this movie - still to this day, I reckon!
Damn i forgot about this movie. In a world of white savior films coach Boon was a man of agency. The white protagonist didn't lift him up he didn't even like him much. I watched this film first at school in Mr. Meeks' class looking back he was my first literal and metaphroical teacher teacher on my journey to becoming woke. He was black. He told us only 1 story i think about growing up in a racist world but i never forgot about it.
Shit I never caught that. The white people don’t fix anything. In fact between Yost and Gary they were forced to confront their own racism, and grow beyond it, mostly by listening to their black peers
I like that aspect of the film...the white coach wasn't ghandi....he was still sorta racist and old school..boon was too sorta...he even picked on the black cocky star
Remember The Titans is so applicable to so many things. Literally everyone I know of a certain age watched it in school but almost never do I hear the same class. Some were English because they were reading something similar, some were History during the time of racial segregation vs desegregation, some were on those rare movie days in gym, some were just shown it because they had a sub for 2 days and it was just a good movie to show. Its so wholesome while also dealing with some heavy stuff that people should be talking about. I work in schools now and I have seen it a good three times within the past few years just by being in classrooms.
I took principles of leadership in my freshman year of high school, and my teacher showed us this movie. I remember feeling very moved and inspired (and I had been depressed for a long time, so that was amazing for me).
I'll admit, I came just for JTM. Love JTM! He came and spoke at conference for young adults a couple years ago that I got to attend. Such a powerful speaker. James is very open, very sincere and just a wonderful guy.
My dad raised me on this movie. I think I watched it on average three times a year until I moved out at 18. He told me a few months ago that he was watching it while we texted. This shaped me so much. I'm so glad you did a video on it.
What is the real reason for me subscribe this channel, not only Jonathan and Alan 's knowledge, it's how Jonathan and Alan's laugh interrupt every time in video , I always feel warm and sweet when you two were laughing to the most silly things ever. That is the role model of friendship I'm looking for.
There are so many lessons to learn from every character in this movie but ultimately I think this movie teaches us to over come pride that holds us back from being more.
I love stories like this. It's why Freedom Writers is one of my favorite movies. It portraying real people doing amazing things without having superpowers. Both are based on true stories. Please cover Freedom Writers in the future.
I'm Peruvian. I saw this movie in my religion's class in high school and I've never shut up about it since then. It made me cry hard and feel so happy at the same time. It is the core of being together, being different individuals but one whole at the same time. And that's why I love it.
My favorite line in any movie I’ve seen is Julius’s last line around 4:55 because I had been looking for a way to explain my “attitude” for years but I’m not great at explaining or articulating
I went to TC Williams high school, they recently changed the name to Alexandria city high school. When I was a student there in 2015 they had banners all over the school they were very proud of this movie 😊
Some other movies I think you guys should watch is the Kung FU Panda, Freedom Writers, Naruto,Chicken Little,The willougbhys, One flew over the cukoo nest, Stand and Deliever
What I like about Remember the Titans is the message that everyone should be working together in this country or else the whole thing is going to fall apart and it kind of looks like already is or is starting to but that’s how I see it.
Who has the harder time adjusting to getting over prejudice: the side that has to admit they were wrong and hurt people, or the side that was hurt? Neither side should ever forget what was done.
If only racism as a whole could be solved as easily as it was in this film: by forcing the opposing sides to interact with one another on a consistent, non-negotiable basis until they eventually find common ground and develop healthy inter-personal relationships with one another. It's like authoritarianism, but good.
Oh man, RTT is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite movies (even though I'm not at all a football fan - my daughter, on the other hand, pretty much IS Cheryl which completely cracks me up LOL). There is so much to unpack in this film, beginning to end. So many character arcs to follow. One of my favorite small moments is how Gerry's mom goes from in the beginning, not even wanting to get to know Julius (her words, and she spat those words out with genuine hostility) -- to Julius holding her hand and being both her physical and emotional support during the funeral scene (*pauses to sob a little*) at the end. Everyone had such incredible growth in this film, even the minor characters. And yet, you still had the characters such as Ray and the men who tried to throw the game, who remained set in their hateful, bigoted ways and never really tried to change or grow at all. Sadly, very realistic portrayal there too.
This is the only sports movie that I found myself liking and I love the bonds that grow between the players. It makes me feel like a fellow jock and that’s weird and tear-jerking at the same time.
They should also do Freedom Writers. I bet they would love that story. Especially how that teacher helps the kids she is teaching while the so called good school was basically against her.
I went to TC (graduated last year), so it's always weird seeing Remember the Titans. It sensationalized what actually happened a bit, but it's SUCH a good movie. The old building was torn down when the school had to be expanded; I believe the parking lot sits where it used to be, but we have posters of the movie next to the gym. Also, fun fact, the current racial makeup of TC is about 1/3 Black, 1/3 White, and 1/3 Latinx. There's also a bunch of economic differences, since the West End of Alexandria has more lower income families than the East Side but TC is the only public high school in the city (AKA we all get funneled into the same place). The dynamics between students at TC is a lot different now than during the period of this movie, but there are still clear socioeconomic/racial divides, so it's always interesting to compare what my experience at TC was like in relation to the way the movie portrays the school.
This is 1 if my favorite films no matter how many times I watch it I still get goosebumps & tear up. This should be shown to elementary schools all over.
One of my favorite movies! It was actually shot partly in my home town. I grew up in the south and ina football family. This movie is so powerful and has an amazing soundtrack!! So good and never gets old!
Gods I love this movie. It gives me all the feels and I don't give a hoot about football. I especially love the confrontation between Julius and Gary. "Attitude reflects leadership" is something I think about a lot at work.
Going through your videos for comfort right now. Absolutely love this movie! Another movie I'd love for you to react to is A League Of Their Own. Absolutely brilliant!
I come from South Africa, and this episode really hit home, mainly because I was accused of being a racist - even though I was born in 1990, there is still a lot of generational trauma that people can't let go of
I showed this movie to a junior leadership training night for my scout troop and right when he said “attitude reflexes leadership”, I couldn’t help but say “y’all better be writing this down!”
My mom loved this movie, but I didn't really appreciate it cuz I was a kid who didn't like football and couldn't look past that. But I watched the Freedom Writers, and it had the same premise and had something I loved l, which was english. Now I love both cuz they're both good movies and have great messages. That we can go into a locker room or classroom and initially not like anyone, but we can grow with those people and have tolerance or even love/admiration for them
I'm so glad you guys pointed out the tribalism in what Julius was stating ("Nobody plays, yourself included. I'm supposed to wear myself out for the team--what team?! No, I'm gonna look out for myself and I'm gonna get mine."). And then continued to point out that they were each leaders of their own tribe. The conversation--expanded to include Gerry's "go along with this" attitude--is really very fascinating. Gerry represents the larger system, telling Julius that his feelings don't matter and to swallow them up. Gerry and other white people only feel comfortable with the black community as long as they conform, but at the same time, they really don't want them there in the first place. Hence the half-hearted efforts on the field. Julius recognizes this during the players' first meeting with Coach Boone--he's preoccupied that the white players don't want to play with the black players, and Coach Yoast's interruption of their meeting is probably understood by him that the white people are taking back control. Really enjoyed this opportunity to think deeper on this movie. Nice analysis.
Thank goodness for this movie. In my high school years, I stopped appreciating it; my English teacher would put it on for the days of the year when the curriculum ran out essentially 😅. I rewatched it recently and I really connect to the idea of ‘leaving the world/media behind’ and just seeing people as people and individuals. I may not believe the same things some people do, but that doesn’t justify how I act towards other human beings if ever detrimental. I feel incredibly privileged to have lived all over our beautiful country and meet so many people from so many walks of life. It has changed me and how I see people forever. People will always judge one another by specific traits, physical or mental or emotional or tribal, but we can all move through that to the human being that exists within to share our differences as the thing we have in common. That shared human experience. The media could use this instead of forcing fake altruism and diversity propaganda down our throats and, instead, tell stories about PEOPLE. We can prevail if we continue to share stories of the biggest hope- sharing our experiences and celebrating our differences. Together. Thank you guys for putting these videos together! Always a pleasure.
I just started watching yall this week, off a friend's recommendation and I love what y'all have covered. I especially like Remember The Titans because I'm from Alexandria.
@@khariahpayne sadly true. I realized, in the 8th grade, that hate never died off, it was hiding. Now's a good time to shrug off that hate and embrace that brotherhood kind of love for one another.
If I may suggest another good story that includes Denzel Washington it would be Antwon Fisher which follows a young man who has to navigate child hood trauma and abuse, which hurts him majorly in his growth as an adult.
I love this movie - we used to watch it all the time in high school cause our tiny public french canadian school team were the Titans It's such a goddamn good movie
The main problem i see with communication is that everyone is on social media fighting and blocking what they don't want to hear and not talking face to face.
@edo0girl Agreed or they like hiding behind a screen knowing that anything they say can't come back to them. So some people just say horrible stuff to other people because they don't have to face anyone and can just block them before they say something. And this has given people thin skin because they don't have to face any consequences or own up to what they said.
@edo0girl @Inu Kaiya No I mean actually link me to an instance like this where it really is just both people being thin skinned and there is absolutely nothing else to it.
@edo0girl No offense but the reason the two parties are against each other are because their ideologies are diametrically opposed, which means they have drastically different ways of addressed problems, viewing the worlds, and running different operations. The same is true for people discussing sensitive topics. The arguing comes from drastic differences which results in different ways of treating people, not just people "simply because they support different party members", which is the most oversimplified summary of the world at large that I've ever heard. People in politics and other topics didn't immediately start calling each other names and using threats from the get go; there was initial discussion and eventual fallout from the failure to reconcile on different fronts because it's difficult to find compromise on topics where the two sides are the exact opposite of each other. The only way you can look at the incredibly complex world of politics and sensitive topics and say "everyone is just arguing because they're thin skinned" is if you ignored every single detail of both sides and what they're arguing about before summarizing it into something oversimplified like "everyone is just ignoring what each other is saying". People fully hear what each other are saying and processing it, it's just that they disagree anyway because of their principles or because changing their approach to something might negatively impact their life. That's not being thin skinned, that's a clashing of personality types and self preservation.
I watched the movie last night after watching this video. Thanks for the recommendation. As human being it feels that if we are forced to collaborate the bond forms automatically. So i understand why states that want to divide make sure that there is a barrier to collaboration. Then it is easy to separate people's mind :(. Seems like the oldest trick in the book.
I wish they would have mentioned the military kids that were on the team...those boys played a great part in bringing the team together. They lived it with their families serving alongside people of different backgrounds, so of course they saw the importance of working as a team with people from different backgrounds too!!
My parents are very conflict avoidant. It's why my Wife and I have had to stop talking with them. They don't want to spread the manure. They want to blame, invalidate and avoid....
I love this movie so much. I feel like growing up people around me would think it’s silly because it’s a kids’ movie or because it’s about football, and maybe they thought I shouldn’t like it because I’m a girl, but I loved it. Everyone should watch it. Cinema is so great because it can be educational as well as entertaining. It’s art in many forms, but it’s like traveling or eating. It can be communal, and a way to connect to people across time and space. I wish y’all would also review Hairspray (2008) another amazing film from my childhood that taught me about history and one that I think everyone should see. On a different subject, A.I: Artificial Intelligence would be fascinating with your family/relationship therapy expertise. Not only David’s need to win the love of his mother, but so much more I can’t even put into words. That movie is the strangest thing but so enthralling. Disney’s the hunchback of notre dame too! Stockholm syndrome, gaslighting, racism, classism. also amazing animation and soundtrack. very underrated film.
Oh this movie! One of my family’s favorites, and still at the top of my list today. Can’t wait to watch this analysis! Edit: they put the “Why are you smiling?” scene in it!!! I still laugh, every time 😂😂😂
This is one of my absolute favorites! The one thing they didn't touch on is how the film shows different layers of discrimination based not only on race, but also sexuality. Gerry displays acceptance and love towards Julius, but then the film goes directly into the next scene where he refers to Ronnie as a "fruitcake." There is also the lunch scene where Petey questions Ronnie's sexuality and the guy in town who doesn't want the black or "gay" people in his restaurant. FYI, gay is in quotes because Ronnie isn't actually gay, but he was discriminated against just on the presumption that he might be gay. I just think this was an interesting layer in the film to show that even though Gerry had made progress in one area of being prejudice, it didn't automatically fix all of his prejudices.
They're just going "STRONG SIDE!!" "LEFT SIDE!!" "STRONG SIDE!!" "LEFT SIDE!!!" and I'm just sitting here like "Is this seriously how men bond with each other???? Wtf?????"
Yes, kind of, a little, not at all, definitely. Best example of it, is my sparing partner is a person I have deeply bonded with over the years. We both spar in a sport(ish) called Belegarth. So much of that bonding was through “how did you get that shot in?!?!?” Or him and I charging into a larger engagement and pinwheeling the entire formation with just our push. While we didn’t do ‘left side, strong side’ our phrase of choice is ‘Brotherhood of Red’ because of our preferred styles. The phrase is part of where bonding happens, but think of it more like an after dinner wine. The meat and potatoes happens before, even dessert sometimes happens before, but the phrase just puts a nice cap on it. The more I think on it as well it is an easy way to recall all those past experiences. When a charge goes less well, or when we are massively outnumbered/classed we can just shout ‘Brotherhood of Red’ and we either pull off the impossible or ‘die’ trying knowing we are not alone!
Some times, yeah Edit: I actually do something like this with my gaming friends, while waiting for a match to start we'll just punch each other back and forth or some such.
I was a teen British girl when this came out, had no interest in the sport and wasn't aware of the historic/interracial context, I'd have been up for it had I known! Thanks for the tip - I'm going to watch it now 😁

I first saw this at school when I was 11. My english teacher put it on with snacks. It has been my favourite movie ever since.
I don't know why I'm just now realizing this, but the only reason he confronts the red is because of his daughter. The innocence of a child can recognize the injustice the adults ignore, and her dad responds because he knows she is the future, and he wants that future to be different.

I kind of want to see something like Sweeney Todd dissected by these guys on how revenge and just manipulative/toxic behaviors in general negatively effect everyone around the person/people like that.
Just like minced meat pies
Love this idea!
That would be so cool
Good idea

Thank you, Jonathan & Alan, for another amazing episode and a special thanks to today's guest, James Curran, for sharing his thoughts and time as well. Y'all take care, stay healthy, and be encouraged. (Smile)
I’m making sure that I care for my relationship garden 🪴 everyday
The one thing and I wish they would’ve shown and talked about was the “which boys you’re talking about scene” and the game just before it.Because it shows the other side of equality ,fairnessMeans like Boone says I’m a mean cuss but “I’m a mean cuss with everybody on that field” and then he goes on to say you’re not doing them a favor by doing them favors.
you are right, that scene hits different when you are a POC because we know just how hard life is, and raising kids, we can't show them the rainbows. we gotta show them the storms first.
@@violaclifton2092 that was a really powerful way to put that idea.
I love this MOVIE!!!
You have excellent taste!
If you start from a young age, it will be natural.
just be sure to be constructive in what you teach the kids.
"People should give more hoots..or not give them.."
Senior quote?
I dony even know if my school does senior quotes, probably not since I graduate in a month and haven't heard anything about it. But if it comes up I'm stealing this idea thank you
LOL at your wife quoting Coach Boone to a kid 😂😂😂She’s the best ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve watched Remember The Titans so many times and it moves me every single time.
Yep and yost rightly gets called out for coddling the black players
He wasn’t hateful but still had prejudice
It's a beautiful movie grounded in real emotions. Truely great movies have heart.
Your dad raised u right
Whenever we had a movie day at school in middle school this was always the movie that was on and it never gets old 🤷🏾♀️
What is the real reason for me subscribe this channel, not only Jonathan and Alan 's knowledge, it's how Jonathan and Alan's laugh interrupt every time in video , I always feel warm and sweet when you two were laughing to the most silly things ever.
That is the role model of friendship I'm looking for.
I swear it was my school administration's favorite movie too because when we had a random movie day it was always. this. movie.
I love James! He’s one of my best buddies from my mission!
OMG the part about leaving the media to understand each other is as heavenly as it comes! Felt good inside.
I went to TC Williams high school, they recently changed the name to Alexandria city high school. When I was a student there in 2015 they had banners all over the school they were very proud of this movie 😊
Some other movies I think you guys should watch is the Kung FU Panda, Freedom Writers, Naruto,Chicken Little,The willougbhys, One flew over the cukoo nest, Stand and Deliever
james is next level nonchalant
What I like about Remember the Titans is the message that everyone should be working together in this country or else the whole thing is going to fall apart and it kind of looks like already is or is starting to but that’s how I see it.
I was very small when I watched this & just hearing the clips made me tear up. What an amazing movie.
Who has the harder time adjusting to getting over prejudice: the side that has to admit they were wrong and hurt people, or the side that was hurt? Neither side should ever forget what was done.
I love your guys' content, I love that you bring other people sometimes to get their personal take as well! Hoot
I hope James Curran comes back for another episode.
I think another film y'all should definitely look at is Mr. Holland's Opus.
YES!!! Especially focusing on parenting a handicapped child. I was a handicapped child and my dad learned a lot from that movie to help him raise me.
Absolutely! I love that movie!
I go here too and I have to agree.
This is awesome, I've only just started to watch this but I know it will be good. Because this is one of my favorite movies too!
I watched this in a high school class learning about the 4 steps of team development forming, storming, norming, and performing.
This was one of my favorite movies growing up, it’s a masterpiece
Gods I love this movie. It gives me all the feels and I don't give a hoot about football. I especially love the confrontation between Julius and Gary. "Attitude reflects leadership" is something I think about a lot at work.
Legitimately one of my favorite movies.
This was awesome!!! Love this movie
Thanks Brian!
i have only watched this movie once and it was more thank 13 years ago. and i still think it is AWSOME
How in the world does this video only have 36 likes
Right?!
wow so they really did get a bit of a blow up over night! (near 1000 a month later)
As soon as I saw the title I was like "Nope! Not trying to cry today!" This went on for about a month lol
3.4k two months later.
How does this video not have 3,6K likes
Tears in my eyes. I love this movie so much!
The only Disney sports biopic I actually loved, and it is SO entertaining! I’ll definitely show this to my kids if I ever have any
Never thought much of this movie when it came out when I was in the 8th grade. Now, it's more relevant today than it was when it came out.
I’d say it was always very relevant. It just seems that the problems are coming to another crescendo, which happens every so often.
@@khariahpayne sadly true. I realized, in the 8th grade, that hate never died off, it was hiding. Now's a good time to shrug off that hate and embrace that brotherhood kind of love for one another.
I love, love, love, Remember the Titans!
If I may suggest another good story that includes Denzel Washington it would be Antwon Fisher which follows a young man who has to navigate child hood trauma and abuse, which hurts him majorly in his growth as an adult.
I love this movie - we used to watch it all the time in high school cause our tiny public french canadian school team were the Titans
It's such a goddamn good movie
The main problem i see with communication is that everyone is on social media fighting and blocking what they don't want to hear and not talking face to face.
@edo0girl Agreed or they like hiding behind a screen knowing that anything they say can't come back to them. So some people just say horrible stuff to other people because they don't have to face anyone and can just block them before they say something. And this has given people thin skin because they don't have to face any consequences or own up to what they said.
Both of you give me some examples of people being thin skinned.
@@turner15 Or just every social media post on Twitter. And that stupid cancel culture trend thats going on.
This is my favorite moving I watch it every fall.
Definitely a lot of humility in the championship game. Alan giving his spot to Petey for the good of the team too.
This is one of the very few sports movies I actually like
I watched the movie last night after watching this video.
They're just going "STRONG SIDE!!" "LEFT SIDE!!" "STRONG SIDE!!" "LEFT SIDE!!!" and I'm just sitting here like
"Is this seriously how men bond with each other????
When a charge goes less well, or when we are massively outnumbered/classed we can just shout ‘Brotherhood of Red’ and we either pull off the impossible or ‘die’ trying knowing we are not alone!
basically getting hyped about something together, yes.
Some times, yeah
Edit: I actually do something like this with my gaming friends, while waiting for a match to start we'll just punch each other back and forth or some such.
that’s how me and my dad bond O.O
Yup....or striking each other with a punch in arm.
I just found your channel and subscribed! I love your content and hope you keep growing as a channel. Happy holidays!
I was a teen British girl when this came out, had no interest in the sport and wasn't aware of the historic/interracial context, I'd have been up for it had I known!
Thanks for the tip - I'm going to watch it now 😁
I love this film. This and Coach Carter.
"Save the cheerleader, save the world" I LOVED Heroes. The main villain was definitely my fave.
I love James Curran! And I love this!
I love this movie! One of my all time favorites
