This should be youtubes first video suggestion for the mini tire changer from harbor freight! Very good tips and explanation. It seems like every time I use the mini tire changer, I'm learning all over again, especially with the smaller tires. They can be a pain!
Thanks! Yes lots of videos out there on this BUT... LOL That's why we felt we should make one more. I feel your pain and also feel the same way sometimes. If you don't do them often then you tend to forget. Like most things I guess so thank goodness for videos there are probually less wrenches and tire irons flying across driveways and garages since You Tube... Or depending on the video you watch maybe more. You Tube is great equally for videos of showing you the "right" ways and well the wrong ways to do things lol. Thanks for the comments and support!
Looking at your hands tells me the whole story. I enjoy and appreciate your videos because it is apparent that what you are teaching us comes from your real life experience with working on these things. UA-cam needs more people like you.
Thanks for the comment, yes lots of working with my hands my whole life. Many sometimes say "we make it look easy". If we do, it comes from doing it wrong or making the mistakes at some point to learn from so we can hopefully show you ways where you don't have to make mistakes we already did lol. We still learn every day and still make mistakes at times (or forget things) lol. Thanks again for watching and your support!
This man knows what he's talking about. Has answered all the questions, by showing what works best. Wish there were more guys like this making excellent DIY videos. Thank you!
You really didn’t need that disclaimer at the end. This may not be “slick & glossy”, but you have shared years of experience and cut your viewers time spent in the school of hard knocks to a tenth of what it would be otherwise. And most people that work for a living have shops that aren’t pretty. Thank you.

I have watched many many video's on this & I would guess about 80% of them have no idea what so ever of what there talking about, your video was an acception, it's very easy to see that you know what your talking about. Thank you.
I have a similar setup and had it high on a bench. Very hard to get leverage. I mounted it on a lower bench and got more of my body weight on top of the work. Made it much easier to mount the tire.
Yes we have it mounted on its own stand now and is better for sure. But using the vice is handy as far as not taking up much space. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Best video out there on changing small tires. I end up doing thus every 3 years or so and have to find a video to remind me how to do it. Bonus points for also using a tire spoon. So much easier
Great video, I changed some rear tires to lugs. Took me a day to think of warming up the tire in the 95 degree sun. Once I did that, they popped right on. Warming the stiff tires are key to the mounting process.
Glad it helped! Yes have to learn from all hard lessons in life , that's the key regardless of tools or people life lessons. Thanks for watching and the nice comment. Happy you got something from our video. Have a good one.
You sir, are the only other person than myself, that I have seen use the 2 bar method to remove the tire. Everyone else I have watched, struggles like a maniac to remove the dang tire off the rim. WELL DONE!
Lol Thanks! I hate tires no matter how big or small lol. But its the little tricks and the "work smarter, not harder" mind set that really makes all the difference with tires and having a good day or one where the world around you is not safe! lol Thanks for watching and the comment!!

This is your 1st video? WOW!!! What an awesome job. Congratulations to you AND your camera crew. I plan on buying one of those "mini tires changers" because you made it look like it was soooo easy. I didn't know that anything like that was made. I'm 70 and have struggled with tires all of my life. I learned a lot watching this video. Keep up the good work because, "Old Dogs Can Learn New Tricks".
Thanks a million - you're giving a career's worth of info here on this tire removal. I couldn't believe Mavis doesn't do small trailer tires. It's up to me to get these new tires on the trailer's rims. You show why that deep groove in the wheel is important to get the tire off. Will let you know how it goes.
I have watched over 30 videos on how to use the Harbor Freight mini tire charger. You gave the best dimension and suggestions. I appreciate you doing the video. This should be the first on How to use the Harbor Freight mini tire charger video that pops up on UA-cam.
Thanks so much for the kinds words. It's very appreciated! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! We plan on do more videos like this and tool and product reviews when we get time so be sure to subscribe.
at least you know what you are doing and how to do it. great job, I learn the correct way to do it. I had a hard time using my mini tire changer, I will be able to do it better next time. thanks for making this video.
I made a mount for this that its into my receiver hitch. It sticks out far enough that the tailgate will open and the main leg is adjustable up and down. I use mine a lot and I made another cup with a rubber gasket from an irrigation pipe that drops over the main 5/8" shaft so when I tighten the top nut it clamps the wheel from both sides with rubber. Wheels do not spin in it now. I also made me a T handled wrench that fits over the top nut so i can spin it down real quick and really tighten it. It works really good now.
Nice, we made a hitch mount for the large tire changer. And made this in so it slides over and mounts to the big tire changer. So we can do big and small tires basically on 1 machine in one place. But do sometimes use it in a vice lime here in the video. But most times it's on the bigger Harbor Freaight tire changer. Thank you for the comment and watching!
Thanks for the video , I bought one of these yesterday for some atv tires, I hope to get the base bolted down tomorrow and try a couple tires on a machine I recently bought, the local shops charge 25 per tire me bringing to them already off the vehicle , so even doing 2 will just about pay for the little tool, I have spooned my own street tires several times in the past no problems, but these atv tires a royal pain , 😵💫😂
Excellent! The non-stop exhaustive explanation, explaining EVERY step, clarifying things that others have touched on but not really explained -- I'm thinking particularly on the necessity of getting the rim of the tyre down under that hump and into the recess. And the recap was a first. I've seen six vids on this, and this is the best. ..Hang on, this is your FIRST vido?? Superb. (Actually the format of a question from the camera operator/ observer and further explication was good, too, though you only did one; more might be good.
@@caseingersolltractorsnortheast Most welcome! Well, I went out and had my first try. Bolted it down to a heavy pallet so I could get my whole weight over it. In fact I was able to break the seal just by jumping on the tyre. Put the wheel on the tool, got one rim off. Can't get the lower one off -- I think because the axle hole in the hub is 3". It's the front wheel of a small real tractor (Iseki TX1300). Took it off the tool, put it on the floor. It's all soaped up, plenty of spoons, big screwdrivers. Just wondering if anyone has advice on this type of hub. Thanks.
@@johncollins8304 not sure exactly you issue but some rims are bigger on one side or the other but if you got one read already off then that should not be the issue. But some rims tires ate meant to come off one side as the cut out is offset and the tire won't reach to drop in as to take lip over the edge.

Great video. Thanks for all the tips I wished I'd been privy to before I added a tube to my slow-leaking, 12" 1999 Murray lawn tractor rear tire. Yes, it fought me but I inflicted more damage to it than it did to me. For its final revenge, the valve stem sucked inside the rim and disappeared after I pressurized it. I did not curse. I had expended all those words already just getting the tube in there. After my thumb heals, I plan to attach the tire to the mower and ride if it holds air. What could go wrong? Looking forward to my next Harbor Freight tool. I wonder if I could fix that leaking rear tire on my 1972 David Brown Selectamatic 880. Do you live anywhere near Ducktown, TN?

Great video! Thank you! I purchased the Harbor Kit - hadn’t worked out how to use it - now I am much wiser! I liked your tyre lubricant brush and pot - where do they come from?
I kinda got an idea to help when breaking the bead. Here goes. Why don't you add a leg to your lever , one that you can add or remove to give you more power. You would attach it to the end of the lever when needed. So the leg should have have a stirrup so you can put a foot in to increase strength to increase bead breaking abilities. This is just an idea I thought of while watching your video, I remind you I did not try this yet.
Good question, so the hubs on most equipment we use this on has grease fittings so they get greased because they are there by many. So thats where the bulk come from. Also grease is used for installation. Now the fitting is there so grease can fill the cavity and coat the axle, keeping it protected and to keep moisture and corrosion away. Also some people remove the inner seals of the bearings that way grease can right get into the bearings if the cavity is full of grease. Thanks for watching and the comment.
