"you shouldn't use time-acceleration. You should be flying these long flights" - Said no one with young kids and a full-time job ever 😅 Glad you pointed out not everyone has time for that!
If you are using AP be sure to slow to real time during turns otherwise you'll oscillate through the next leg. Additionally, since you can only go as slow as 0.25x I don't worry about what my current acceleration is. Rather, I drop all the way to 0.25x through rapid key presses and then increase the rate with two hits, which brings you back to 1x. Been doing that ever since the original MSFS versions.
If you have a Honeycomb Bravo throttle, I like to map the sim rate up/down to the Flaps Up lever + the rotary knob combo. As you suggest, I only use acceleration during cruise when flaps are up, so a safe combo-bind.
Thanks for the tip. I have mine setup with two switches set a specific way that would only be in flight. Parking brake and something else I learned on UA-cam. I don't like it but I like your idea. Especially as mostly flying jets I don't use the flap lever unless I'm on short final to disable AP/YD.
It's seriously annoying that we can't find out what the current sim rate is anywhere. I was kind of hoping that you'd have a better trick for that than the timer thing. Oh, well.
The other caution in using acceleration is if ATC calls you up during accelerated, you have to be really fast to respond otherwise they will drop you and tell you to squawk VFR.
Very useful video. Is time acceleration disabled for landing challenges? It should be!! I have to ask a question about the logbook, because in 14 days I haven't managed to fix my problem... First of all, I am NOT using Developer mode! From the 20 December 2021, all new flights I make appear in the logbook during the FS session, but after I close, then restart FS, flights made after 19 DEC 2021 don’t appear! It’s as if my logbook data is no longer put into the cloud. Or the file that holds this data can no longer be updated, or has reached a maximum size (I wonder???), because I have nearly 6000 landings (well since 19 Dec 2021, I definitely have more than 6000 landings!)! So, each time I restart FS, the last flights shown in my logbook are on 19 Dec 2021. I wonder what the problem is...
Ahhh .... the irony of a guy that talks twice as fast as everyone else giving a tutorial about time acceleration 😆 I usually watch his videos at .75 time scale to make them comprehensible
This has got to be the first game I’ve ever seen that doesn’t display the current sim rate. I mean c’mon this is just lazy devs. This really sucks when your flying the 747 that has no clock. I’m on a flight from DFW airport to Panglao Philippines and my wife knocked my mouse on the floor which just happened to close MFS and I lost about 6 hours of progress so I decided to use the time acceleration to get back to where I was at and now I can’t figure out how to get it set back to real time.

I will try this on long hauk flights, thanks man🙌
I love your vids, but lately in your last several vids, the audio is not like it used to be. I have a hard time listening what you were saying
MADE IN HEAVEN
This man was happened to be a gay priest in Florida. Wait, does that mean he achieved Heaven?
OH MY GODDD
Great video as always. Can you explain the difference between Sim Rate and Slew and why you might use one over the other in a given situation?

I have been using this game since it was in ALPHA and never used that feature I think I will now for the sake of of my system!
Hi! Quick question, for online msfs20, people that do those 9 hour long flights cannot speed them up?
If you're using normal multiplayer, you can use timewarp, but if you're using live mode, I'm not sure

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Sucks to be you!!! #FirstWorldProblems
Making my way downtown resetting the universe🙃
my technique for getting back to 1x speed is to mash the decrease button like ten times then increase by two 😂
Your videos are excellent, but! Why do you talk soooooo fast? 😄
That's what makes the videos so excellent! He doesn't stretch a great 10 minute video into a 40 minute snooze-fest.
