I love this show so much. I had never heard of it when i was a teen until i saw a similar game played on Rupauls drag race of all places 😆 i seeked this out and have loved it ever since. Love Gene
I used to rush home from school to watch it in the 70's until they moved it to the morning time. Now I'm catching up on all the episodes I missed cause I was in school.
5:27)On the old "Dating Game"a man spelled it FART. In the 2012 "Piranha 3DD" DVD special features, Gary Busey said it meant Feeling A Rectal Transmission.
He'd look a lot younger if he shaved his mustache. Charles must have liked him, he even waved bye to him, and he doesn't do that to most of the contestants.
There was quite a bit of (barely audible) back and forth between Richard and Brett/Charles with the harmonica question. When Brett said: "You don't blow a piano," Richard said something like: "after six years, now we use logic." He kept going even as Gene was reading the next question, saying it was "play and not blow." They did a pretty good job hiding it, but sometimes the tension showed.
I wonder if Richard gave the piano answer on purpose, so he could complain. He usually is the one trying to use the most logical answers and always explains them. I think he was looking for controversy.
Brett and Charles were right, as Gene pointed out the inference was that it was "blowing" an instrument because the guy accidentally swallowed the harmonica while playing it. How do you accidentally swallow a piano while playing it? It's not near your mouth. Richard was very surly by this point.
"What are your kids' names?" Sharon: "Brian and Crystal. Brian's a swimmer. Brian's in the audience. Brian works out twice a day. Brian is 14. Brian is a competitor. Brian has a beautiful body. I'll take B for Brian." Meanwhile, Crystal's at her therapist's office?
For that question, the guy ate too much at the ballgame and instead of a 7th inning stretch, he needed a 7th inning retch! Maybe too gross, but I think it's a great answer!
13:03 The always fun and flirty Elaine is clearly not pleased when the wheel picks her and silently mouths, "Sh-t, no!" Understandable, I think most panelists are never truly prepared to face such pressure after routinely being passed over for Richard. Too bad, she gave a good answer and the contestant, unfortunately, flubbed it.
One of the reasons that Wheel was not a good idea; especially when the episodes straddle. Two weeks prior the wheel landed on Susan Richardson on a Monday, and she was the new kid on the block, and it was the first order of business that day (they had to stop playing on last Friday) for $10,000. You could look on her face she was stressed.

The young fellow had two really bad questions.
14:45......Contestant Sharon Mathews....is a PERFECT double.....for Joyce Bulifant
Agree.....
I agree...without the annoying voice...😁
Yeah just watched this tonight and thought the same thing.
Don't you mean Elaine Joyce?
@@Floymin no...I meant Joyce Bulifant (I know she wasn't on the panel that week)...but I've seen her often enough to compare
Wow! Avery! I did not see that coming 😃
he rarely matches but yeah!
I loved this show when I was growing up. Match Game will always be a classic. I loved Elaine Joyce. I thought of EASY going.
Richard looked lifeless in this episode.
Wow! Ken looks more like 32. Greatest eight minutes in the history of television.

Richard sure is miserable because of the wheel.

I thought the same thing, mom was maybe a little too into her son
Exactly.
Gene gave the weird comment "He must have a beautiful body" about a 14-year-old boy's body. Today he'd be hauled away in handcuffs for saying that.
Between the mother/son enmeshment and codependency, I’m sure Brian had the appointment slot right after Crystal.
I actually thought of "GET Going", too! 🙂
What was "many miles" a reference to? I thought they said "mini miles" which didn't make sense either.
Poor Fannie: "Pincik" = "Picnic"... 🤦♀️🤷♀️
Wow !! A great win by another wonderful celebrity ! Great job Avery !!
I was shocked they matched!!
It sounded like she said mini, rather than many. I guess that was her pronunciation.
Wow, amazing match!! 👏🎉
For the baseball question, I thought the punchline was a 7th inning stretcher.

Then she looked at Joyce like it was her fault she lost. I would have said get going or keep going.

@@deboragustin9980 I respectfully disagree 😊😊😊 - I think she was upset with herself for flubbing it.
Way to go Avery !!!!
The Martians in Total Recall had three boobs... though that film wasn't released for another 12 years.
"Play the PIANO" (like I do)!! 🎹🙂
only RICHARD wants to match the big game and they took it from him. lol😂
She looks just like Joyce Bulifant
I'd say there was a CIRCUS under that dress, I was thinking the same as Avery with 🐀 chow
Omgosh she (Sharon) looks like Joyce Builefant. Just a like her.
Sharon( contestant) looks like Joyce bellefonte 😁
It’s Joyce Bulifant. Not Bellefonte as in Harry Belefonte.
She sure does! Looked like she waiting for Gene to mention it.
Poor kid got confused when Avery said dirigible
Some of these later games the player who was behind played first? Any reason?
I didn't notice. I'll watch more closely.
No talk about ESP anymore...

Ken doll didn't even say bye. 😄
Elaine Joyce was a vixen...74 now... :(

If Sharon Matthews had a voice like Sandy Duncan, she could have been Elaine Joyce's twin.
I thought so too
I think she more resembled Joyce Buillifant than Elaine Joyce.
@@pencils812 Joyce Bulifant was a total babyface. Elaine's face was slightly more mature.
JOYCE not Elaine!
