This is the plight that black & brown males face. that's not taking away any issues from any other race. She was just commenting on a issue (the inability to cry) that impacts the males in our community

Chris Evans my man was working minimum wage jobs and we were barely getting by between the two of us and he kept saying he wanted a career but school was going to take too long, so i looked into him getting his CDL and he went away to train for it, i supported him a hundred percent, now he's making bank and thanks me at least twice a week for being supportive and pushing him to do better for himself and his family. Couldn't be prouder of him because he stands taller and is proud of himself finally.

A very inspiring story. I am 3'years older than Charlie. I remember the Gap Band. I loved their music, but I knew nothing about his life until now. I've heard of "management" robbing artists and holding them captive. I've heard of celebrities losing their grip on life due to drug addiction, Few stories end this well. God bless everyone involved in the making of his recovery. I am filled with joy right now. I will buy his book because I want to know all about it.

I appreciate Uncle Charlie's story because he reminds me of my brothers who was also on drugs in the past. They tried to do better and there were times when they were motivated enough to make some changes that caused them to be better but when things got difficult they would backslide. They went to jail for crimes some petty and some I never knew why. They just like my children and myself did not have the support. What I did thought was tried not to repeat what I saw at that time by remembering and feeling sad for not just my family members who were on crack but other people including my friends who tried it for the first time then got hooked. The truth is that we sat around and seen our family members looking like zombies that I was surprised and felt disheartening when I saw people I grew up with now hanging in spots or same places as the generation before them. I am happy for Charlie that he met himself someone who was willing to just be... a good person to him because of who she was. It works and that is all tha matters. Color is not an issue. Blacks and Whites have had relationships since the begining of time some good some bad and some just (neutral) work it out. 😊

I feel his pain , it's crazy 1 minute life can be everything you want and the next it's everything you hate. Last year I had an awesome job , gf money , nice car chasing my dreams now I'm crippled by anxiety, no job , no car scraping by. Cherish the good times people , they do come and go but if you stick it out it comes back around.

I heard Charlie’s story on Steve Harvey show I literally started crying for this man . I am glad god pick you up and gave you the opportunity to be a good man and he blessed you with the lady who married you .

Mr. Wilson is truly an amazing inspiration of a person who gave it all he had to pull himself out of the gutter of the substance abuse life !!! Which is another reason when , whenever he comes to our town to do a show , I make it a habit to get some of the best seats for us . One heck of a performer too , will give you your money’s worth- singing ALL of his songs from the 70’s to the present !!!

Praise God for 2nd chances and sacrificing your son Jesus and Lord your sacrifice aswell. Thank you both for your sacrifices. Because of that there was the Resurrection, just like in Charlie Wilson. He surrendered and was set free. God sent the lady to help him and later became his wife.
