@@sam.lipchutz Agreed. At some point it becomes the "pile-it-on" bully mentality that the internet likes to do when there is blood in the water. @Galactis1 go out and call an MLB game sometime. These guys are watching 100+ mph pitches from 66 feet away, not 7 or 8 year old kid-pitch baseball
this is why rizzo is my favorite player. not only is he a great player, but he heavily donates to cancer patients, has his own foundation for this too, and he's a great sport. and on top of that he's a great teammate and leader.
i get mad when people talk about the cubs but they talk about kris brayant not anthony rizzo. Even though I'm a Dodgers fan i like Rizzo because he donates and is a great leader, plus I play first base!
Andy53662 he gains new ones everyday. all of the kids with cancer and their lives that have been touched by him. he's the kind of guy a girl could take home to her mom
Anthony Rizzo is my favorite player for many reasons. Not only is he a terrific player, he is a generous, kind hearted, charitable man. I love how he recently donated $3.5 to a children’s hospital. He is a great person.
I am glad that I was able to see this young man develop as a major leaguer as a part of my hometown team, the Padres. He is gonna grow into the next Roberto Clemente without a doubt. So much class he has and is willing to give money to people in need. Incredible.
Makes me love this game. I feel like it's one of the last classy sports left. I quit watching NBA, NFL for all the show boating(and don't tell me it's not cocky if you can do it- ah yeah it is). It's why my generation loves it so much when we catch glimpses of excellence.
To everyone saying that it's easy when you're winning, yes of course you're more relaxed and calm in a winning situation, but it's also very easy for a young man to become arrogant or indifferent to the matter. Whether the game is going well or bad, the decision to apologize still takes a certain amount of resolve, and Rizzo has done that.
Had several conversations like this and appreciated the players a lot. Actually this is a good way to get on the umpire's good side and just may get you the close pitch sometime. The best catchers I ever had were the ones (2) that talked and kept the coach off of my back. I remember one day the pitcher threw an inside - bottom of the zine pitch and I called it a ball. This catcher looked at me and said that he thought that is was good and I said to have the pitcher throw it again. He did several pitches later and I called it a ball again and all the catcher said to me was "I guess we'll not throw that one again today".
I started understanding Baseball in 68 69. Lucky to have WGN televise 140 of 162 games. Plus NBC had Mlb game of the week on Saturdays. You would get a DH in June and July East coast game at noon then a westcoast game followed. Every team had a HOF pitcher or 2. Mays,Arron,Roberto. Kaline ,Yaz. Mariechel. Gibson, Mcclain. Banks, Bilky Williams, Jenkins. As the next 3 4 years went i Noticed that the guys broadcasting kept saying names that i didnt know. I was lokking at players so much i didnt realize that the UMPIRES!!! Were the ones in charge. . If Rod Carew had a strike called against him and he turned his head to Homeplate ump. That was a nono. They could say something but turning your head was not going to score you any points. Shag Augie were as famous and respected as any. Look up them not only pros have great stories of players at bat.
i don't know how ruth and gehrig did it without wrapping and unwrapping their gloves, asking for time and going for a walk down the baseline after every pitch.
2 things wrong with this: 1. Why are you apologizing to angel hernandez? He probably got a million things wrong already. 2. Why is angel hernandez still umpiring playoff games?
He not managed one since that year. He filed a grievance against the his union because of it. Bad ump, claims racial discrimination is why he doesn't get to call more playoff games, lol.
No... nothing wrong with this. to answer your question, Easy. because of respect. no matter if an umpire "Probably got a million things wrong already" they're human and at the end of the day and humans make mistakes. So when you feel like you might've disrespected an umpire and you apologize it shows real class.
Ryan Denton man cubs got lucky if Padres still had him the probably would have done good and if they kept grandal but Padres are dumb and I'm a Padres fan
ExtremeMonkee I would say Theo and Co had a pretty good idea about Rizzo. He was a part of their plan from day one. Too bad about Cashner though, I remember all the hype
Seriously? I mean, Angel Hernandez is horrible. But you are seriously going to dismiss Joe West or CB Buckner from the contention of 'worse of all time'?
We'll you're up 5-0 at the point when the incident happens. Now if Rizzo kept his cool and they were losing... That would be a completely different thing..
FYI, NEVER say sorry to the worst ump in the league. NEVER.
Laz Diaz is probably one of the worst behind the plate though. If no one should get an apology it should be him
Why not? He doesn’t miss calls on purpose he is doing his best.

famguy218 I know a friend mine does have cancer and Rizzo sent a signed picture to her
Dog's hockey highlights sorry to hear about your friend. I hope she recovers. glad to hear that rizzo gave a signed picture
famguy218 you know rizzo had cancer
i get mad when people talk about the cubs but they talk about kris brayant not anthony rizzo. Even though I'm a Dodgers fan i like Rizzo because he donates and is a great leader, plus I play first base!
That’s the correct way of taking a “knee” if u wanna exercise your opinion.
Rizzo just gained a new fan.
Andy53662 he gains new ones everyday. all of the kids with cancer and their lives that have been touched by him. he's the kind of guy a girl could take home to her mom
Andy53662 he's my secret boyfriend ❤️ it's a secret because he doesn't know it 😜
Andy53662 he got my respect too
who is it?
JK LMAO
jayson r why is that?
That was awesome, saw it live and I was like, man his parents did a good job there.
Frank Hernandez and have you seen the video of him yelling "you suck, you fuckin suck!" at an umpire after he was called out on an unchecked swing?
USMC6199KR3W well he was right it was a shit call lol
macipod00 I think you miss the point. It doesn't matter if it's a shit call or bot
yes I did, and it was a bad call, he didn't go :), it shows honesty, the ump sucks, what can you say...
He's Italian
Humility & class; recipes for success!
Anthony Rizzo is my favorite player for many reasons. Not only is he a terrific player, he is a generous, kind hearted, charitable man. I love how he recently donated $3.5 to a children’s hospital. He is a great person.
1:46 so are we just not gonna talk about that noise, like someone died.
jose flores Sounded like a Tusken Raider from Star Wars
Sounds like someone swung a heavy door right into some dude's manhood.
Dude snapped his arm in half trying to reach for the foul ball
One of the funniest noises I've ever heard.
That scream from the fan 😂😂
Mr. Plow. ikr 😂
Mr. Plow. That was like that fish in Spongebob Squarepants that always screams "MY LEG!" when there's a commotion.
Mr. Plow. It probably was first time catching a ball and he got excited
What a great baseball player.
That was very nice of Rizzo to do and if you ever read this Rizzo, you are a really caring, cool dude
This is why I like Rizzo he's a classy guy. More ballplayers should be like him.
That scream was like that fish in sponge bob that always screams "MY LEG!" when there's a commotion.
Next video: "Anthony Rizzo telling ump he fucking sucks"
hahahahaha
This proves rizzo is a great player and great person that’s why he’s my favorite player

What a guy he is. Deserves all the success he earns
I am glad that I was able to see this young man develop as a major leaguer as a part of my hometown team, the Padres. He is gonna grow into the next Roberto Clemente without a doubt. So much class he has and is willing to give money to people in need. Incredible.
I'm so sorry that you're a padres fan
It starts at 1:00
Lmao and the "Up Next" video: Anthony Rizzo tells Ump "he f*cking sucks" hahaha
Https//cash.me/VideoGameDTS Help the channel
Love Anthony Rizzo just an all around great person
huge respect for both rizzo and ump
im not even a cubs fan but Rizzo is a true Class Act he is one of those guys you just cant hate
Any player apologizing to Angel Hernandez should be fined and drilled in his next at-bat.
Makes me love this game. I feel like it's one of the last classy sports left. I quit watching NBA, NFL for all the show boating(and don't tell me it's not cocky if you can do it- ah yeah it is). It's why my generation loves it so much when we catch glimpses of excellence.
great sportsmanship at display right here
I'm not a Cubs fan and I'm ehhh about them but I would take Rizzo any day. He's great. Will never embarrass an organization
I agree with the new fan deal here.
stand up guy and an awesome man from what I can see sorry is hard for a man and he said it gracefully
Class act!
I'm a Dodgers fan, but how can you NoT like Rizzo?
All the positive off field things he does as well. CLASSY..
Now, that is CLASS by the player & the umpire.
He hit a dinger after that. What a stud
Rizzo setting another example of class!

Skip to 2:00 for the 10 second conversation....you're welcome
self congratulations make you look like a twat "you're welcome"
The first video that was suggested to me after this video was done was titled, "Anthony Rizzo tells the umpire he f*cking sucks" lmfao
Amazing that is what the world need to see
Rizzo is very humble and he said sorry because he knows how grateful he is to be playing in the MLB because he is a cancer survivor
Classy move. Don't see that enough in the game.
GREG GIBSON THE HOME PLATE UMPIRE!
I was born and raised in St. Louis and a life long cardinal fan. So I mean it when I say Rizzo is a class act
Rick Shoults Angel needs to learn from Rizzo. He currently has a lawsuit against MLB for not getting to ump playoff games. Hahahaha
Lmaoo I like how this video says "Rizo apologizes to the ump" and the video below up next says "Rizo tells ump he fucking sucks" 😂😂
Class act.
I started understanding Baseball in 68 69. Lucky to have WGN televise 140 of 162 games. Plus NBC had Mlb game of the week on Saturdays. Rizzo is top class
For some reason this makes me cry 😭
Such a classy dude!
I’m surprised there’s anyone out there who would apologize to Angel Hernandez
What a nice guy...of course then there is that other clip of him telling an umpire that he fucking sucks!!!
The only time I’ve respected Angel Hernandez
I still want to hear what umpires and players and managers say when they argue with each other
I wish that MORE umpires would see the game that way!
Good guy
That's what a lm talking about!!!! Like this guy
Hey Rizzo, there's no crying in baseball
Rizzo=CLASS ACT!!
PURE CLASS!
Lol the fan who screamed after getting the ball
Rizzo's the man
That's the way to deal with an MLB umpire. Takes notes, Bautista. You'll get walked even more than you already do.
Vs when Molina spits in their faces.....
i don't know how ruth and gehrig did it without wrapping and unwrapping their gloves, asking for time and going for a walk down the baseline after every pitch.
2 things wrong with this: 1. Why are you apologizing to angel hernandez? He probably got a million things wrong already. 2. Why is angel hernandez still umpiring playoff games?
Go away; if u even need to ask, u still need some maturity.
He not managed one since that year. He filed a grievance against the his union because of it. Bad ump, claims racial discrimination is why he doesn't get to call more playoff games, lol.

todd zeile He's getting paid to umpire baseball games and your not.. I would take any MLB umpire to ump my games over anyone else
The only reason I "hate" Anthony Rizzo is because I''m a Cardinals fan, he's good, and sucks to play against. Very respectable player.
"and now a BEACHball has come out onto the field".
Conversation begins at 1:59
1:45 *SMASH* "UuuuughhhrmmmuuugHHHH!!!!"
The one time where Angel Hernandez is kinda likeable.
I don't at all see Anthony Rizzo getting mad at an umpire. Or angry in general.
Rizzo is a class act. But Hernandez knows a strike zone like a pig knows Sunday
The nicest thing I’ve said to a ump was “whatever cunt”
Yep, I’m now a Rizzo fan.
of course he apologizes now that hes in a good mood now that they're winning 10-2.
good player, good ump
hes very sweet, i met him at the grocery store lol
Rizzo is Canadian?
tiggfigg Italian
VideoGameDTS Production flewwww
I'm sorry to say but not all of us Canadians say sorry. Damn it!
TCAP FAN You literally said, “sorry,” in your sentence.
That was the joke. I guess it didn't translate too well. lol
What a guy
If he didn't come back and apologize, Angel would have had him by the balls (or strikes) for the rest of time.
1:40 a fucking Orochi caught the ball.
Did this video end before the convo?
Anthony Rizzo is the best player since he got drafted
Ryan Denton man cubs got lucky if Padres still had him the probably would have done good and if they kept grandal but Padres are dumb and I'm a Padres fan
Eh padres took a gamble and it just didnt work out for them, they had no idea cashner would flunk and rizzo would flourish. luck of the draw, friend
ExtremeMonkee I would say Theo and Co had a pretty good idea about Rizzo. He was a part of their plan from day one. Too bad about Cashner though, I remember all the hype
Surprised the blue took it so well
Hernandez probably missed that call as well.
1:44 😂😂😂😂
we're talking about Angel Hernandez..........so he probably missed the call.
Who else thought he was going to say something bad?
There's no crying in baseball. Whoever uploaded this is going straight to hell
This video needs a Joe Buck warning
If they were losing 2-10 he wouldn’t of said that
angel hernandez has always been the worst umpire ever
Seriously? I mean, Angel Hernandez is horrible. But you are seriously going to dismiss Joe West or CB Buckner from the contention of 'worse of all time'?
plainOldFool Well they are all close
mike estabrook is definitely making his case to be the worst ump of all time, as well as continuing to be a shitty person.
To be fair it was Angel Hernandez, so good chance it was ball 4.
So I guess Angel Hernandez isn't the worst umpire in baseball anymore lol!
wholesome
We'll you're up 5-0 at the point when the incident happens. Now if Rizzo kept his cool and they were losing... That would be a completely different thing..
armst012 he was still slumping and they were only up by 4
armst012 can you tell me what was that incident?
Dufuk was that?😂😂😂 1:45
Of course it’s angel hernandez because who else would it be
Was it angel who has the disabled son and a player said something about it after a call and the ump lost it?
That was John Hirschbeck
I say that too when I think I get walked and they call a strike I go back and the ump sorry just in case
Just skip to 1:58
