  • Byron Court is a well-loved community school in Brent, North West London, that was founded in 1932. But now it is under threat of academisation by Carpetright owners, the Harris Federation - after the inevitable failed OFSTED test, which has now become simply a means to further the Government agenda of privatising every school.
But nearly 200 parents have launched a brilliant campaign alongside teachers to stop the academisation process, with a huge demo at the school on the day the Department for Education discuss the future of a school they know nothing about - and care even less.
Sheffield's Edward VII school was saved from academisation with a similarly huge and united campaign, and the demo today shows that the Byron Court parents and teachers have the determination to win too.

I went to school here when the old head master was here but when the new one arrived apparently it went down. I wish the best for this school
