  • "Mama Sang a Song" is a sentimental reminiscence of a sharecropper's childhood, specifically about his mother, this is a country music song written and recorded by Bill Anderson.The protagonist recalls that, although his family grew up dirt poor and that his father sometimes cried in frustration over being unable to afford better things for his children, love, patience and virtue always reigned in their household. The youngster felt particular comfort when, in times of trial and yearning, his mother would take a hymnal from the shelf and sing a song to comfort the family and affirm their strong Christian faith.

    Remember hearing him sing this on tv back in the 60's. My mom would get copies of new release records when the Juke-box man came by the cafe to rotate 45 records. I remember we got a copy of this song and I played it often on my portable. My mom was a cousin to the Wilburn Bros. who were raised here in Hardy, Arkansas and I believe I saw Bill on their show during the 60's and maybe the Porter Wagoner Show--they followed each other on the air, every Saturday afternoon, back in those days. Bill is an excellent lyricist and I love watching him host the show on RFDTV.

    With as old as Bill Anderson is, I'm surprised he still holds it together when he sings this song.

    SHOWS THE HARDSHIPS IN THE FAMILY AND THE LOVE AND STRENGTH OF THE MOTHER. WHEN THINGS WERE HARD, IT WAS THE MOTHER WHO COMFORTED THE FAMILY WITH LOVE.

      Hi, back to the Pandy farm, I don't ignore you, what I asked is that I don't want us to use my channel or visa versa to discuss what ugly people say or comment to you with crude language, It is basically what I do know is to demonstrate it's not right to you and your viewers. They thought you were aggressive and that is there perception, take them on, I normally prefer to stay out from others differences because at the end one get tackled and can wake a monster in oneself, therefor my low profile in others fights. No offence friend.

      Jan Kotze Non taken Jan, old Wes boy doesn't want to admit openly that all of us of guys that were telling him to look at Krone balers were 100% correct doesn't he??? LOL

    • @jankotze1959
      @jankotze1959 8 років тому

      Agree 100% I believe You and other Krone fans had an impact on his thoughts to get a Krone out, I remember long ago Wes was concerned about Krone spares availability, to the extend that I felt he will never buy one. With you and others "selling" Krone to him he changed his mind, that is my open and honest believe.

      Jan Kotze Jan all I did was just said to Wes just have an open mind and listen and read what all these big contractors like Triple M Custom farming etc.. who run 7 balers Krone have to say about these Krone balers because if they were shit these guys would keep buying them especially 7 of them, it's very simple I always take notice of what is been consumed or used by professional people because they normally go for the best, the one thing that confuses me why people drink that coke cola like they do because that's bad shit in my opinion!
