Very good to see that the AuthentiKit stuff along with a desktop simulation is being used for R/L training. But it's really time MS/Asobo implemented native Force Feedback in MSFS2020. Coming from the FSX/P3D angle, done properly, it makes a big difference to the realism when done properly and on a good FM! And they need to get the controller manufacturers on board too, as Flight Simulation is way behind the FF Racing Sim controllers that are available.
Hopefully they have matched the DCS flight model which is pretty good....have they added differential braking as standard now in MSFS? Awesome vid Phil!
They added a free castoring tail wheel in a recent update, but I don't believe MSFS supports a single brake lever like the Spitfire has, so differential braking must be used.
Our thing is building the controls, but mixed reality or reliable hand tracking is very much something I see as being the ultimate AuthentiKit environment
True… IL2 is much better in the flight model compartment and has even much better VR performance. MS Stutter simulator doesn’t even have a genuine “fly by” view option.
Fascinating video. Great to see how the sim we can all fly at home can be adapted for the pro's!
What a great community flight simming is. Well done to all involved.
How cool is that! It must have been very rewarding to see your hard work find real world application!
Immensely! Thanks. The FIS guys were amazing too.
@@AuthentiKit Same here Phil, a pleasure working with you
Excellent work Phil and BBMF. Good to know the MSFS Flying Iron flight model is accurate enough for this purpose.

Quite right. Hopefully the growth of this segment due to MSOBO will mean flightsim catches up with racing sims
Remarkable work, Phil. Well done.
Amazing to see it all come together. I remember talking to them when they first began putting the sim together.
Absolutely. It's come a long way.

I'll do a video on it soon. We're using spad.next to mix the brake lever with the rudders and send differential braking direct to the sim.
We matched the real Spitfire, not the DCS model. If they happen to be close though...then I suppose that's a good thing :-)
Any plans to do some mixed reality with the wrist 3? Very very easy to do (I have an example on my shorts with an f16 home cockpit

Brilliant!
How tragically ironic that this aircraft was the one that crashed shortly after take off near Coningsby in May , killing the pilot.
Very, very cool
Awesome
Mate it would be awesome if you could combine this with force feed back. That would be the ultimate level 👌
Agreed - it would be amazing. Never say never eh?
@AuthentiKit I've heard good things about the vpforce rhino set up. Could be a possibility 🤔
@@AuthentiKit... Shame it's too heavy to just mount on an old Microsoft Sidewinder for now until you have ffb working!
Where do I get the livery
Hi, only just spotted your comment. flightsim.to/file/11186/flying-irons-spitfire-ixc-mk356
@@AuthentiKit thanks
Good for systems failures. Il-2 Sturmovik has better physics, imo.

Msfs it’s hitting hard :) bye xplane fanboys 😂
