@bastiat The issue is back then the animators got given a storyboard and changes to the storyboard meant delays; so there was an incentive to do things right and high quality every time. Now animation studios get pitted against one another to make it cheap, often expected to rush work to meet the old deadline when storyboard changes happen. Its less a matter of skill as much as a reduction in time available to make the animation(this is also why so much is in a very simple art style, less detail = quicker to make/redraw).
It's sobering to think that two voice actors in this clip are no longer alive (Ed Asner and David Warner), but the joy they gave us will be around forever.
I mean... to get so well into the maniacally-dictator role with so much passion (and probably do a couple of takes before release too)... You'd get a stroke too xD

Me too I’m convinced Tim Curry could play a blade of grass and he’d be the most entertaining blade of grass in history . Whenever you hear Tim Curry’s voice in a cartoon, you immediately know that this character is a bad guy. This man is amazing at playing villains. A genius at playing the mad genius. Bravo bravo! 👏👏

Probably my favorite episode of Freakazoid. Combine this with the villains tormenting Jonesy on the plane (especially Candle Jack) and the only real flaw I see is the show is only 30 minutes long with commercials.
