I absolutely love Tom and his stage presence.I have been into Tom since the early eighties and I can listen to him everyday.Only can say that about two artist,Tom and Nick Cave.I dig this song because I'm a gold miner in the North Country,one of the few women miners in the lower 48.This song has the story and elements of sin,heaven and hell.I like a good song that tells so much with only a few words.

And she came after me, and I worked with the government to try to stop her. Tom Waits inspired dream because I was listening to Orphans a lot at that time.

If you watched time freeze around you, you had a chance of escaping- but to the poor souls who froze before you- they would be gone. She could float- her hair was very black- spattered like tar in the frozen time- skin so pale you knew she wasn’t human. I tried to stop her myself- somehow ended up in a bunker in world war 2.
