Super Bowl Champion and 4x Olympic Gold medalist, who just happen to share the same last name, join The Pivot for our first ever couple to be on the show! That's right, Aaron Ross and Sonya Richards-Ross sit down with Ryan, Channing and Fred for a conversation filled with impactful moments of each's storied athletic career, highs and lows of their 19 year relationship and life now as parents finding their way into new passions.
Sanya courageously opens up about her personal struggles on way to chasing gold at Beijing and shares how difficult the decision of having an abortion 2 weeks before the Olympic Games was on her and now husband Aaron. In an emotional statement, Sanya explains how the moment never gets easier to talk about but how she was able to find peace in the situation and alleviate blaming herself after missing Gold in an event that was supposed to be a lock for her. Dealing with the aftermath took a toll, but Sanya shares how she found comfort in her relationship and grace in winning gold again.
Channing states how Sanya is the most successful athlete in the room and accomplished the most out of all of them and he raises the financial question if that was ever an issue in how little she made compared to her husband. Sanya and Aaron both laugh and say it was actually the opposite in college when Aaron called his then girlfriend his sugar mama!
Reminiscing about the first time meeting Sanya in college, Aaron tells the guys how watching his wife work so hard at her sport at an early age motivated him to want to be the best at his. The first round NFL pick went on to win two Super Bowls with the NY Giants and both credit each other with finding the ultimate success in their passions.
Aaron and Sanya discuss how becoming parents was a major transition in their lives as they both retired from their respective sports and adjusted to being together more and calling a new city home. Life with out football found Aaron in a two year rut where he can now look back and say he was in a depression but didn't know it while he was experiencing it. Currently, Sanya is part of the Real Housewives of Atlanta series that is airing now and the two talk about how they have embraced the show and found a way to become closer through it.

50:36 BRUH Sanya with the quote of a life time here “Greatness is not fleeting, it lives in us. If you’re great in one thing you can be great in something else. It’s just how you choose to apply yourself” GIVE HER ANOTHER GOLD
Peace, to add to what you mentioned they never interview black women of sometime of stature when speaking on abortion rights. You only see causcasion women like they are the spokes people for all women. Dope interview from start to finish
that resonated with me.
💯
Man this episode had everything- positive representation of black love/parenting, reality TV, even the hot button issue of reproductive rights! And Channing gon' Channing as always, the funniest segment. Y'all got gold on this one!
Big facts.
And yes, Channing is going to Channing.
@Tree Snackz This was just soooo good!!!
Lmao gold I see what you did there, and jewelry
Totally agreed!
Can we give Fred his flowers?? His ability to create vulnerability through well researched and thoughtful questions is amazing. It is so awesome to be able to see him be able to shine and grow into what is clearly a calling for him.
Whoever’s idea it was to get The Ross family deserves a raise…instant classic
True story
Watch your mouth fred talking about Louisiana speed
Facts ✊🏾
This was the realest, dopest, flyest, most entertaining, revealing, heart warming, riveting, loving episode yet. Thank you for having this couple on and for the hosts being themselves as always. The Pivot Podcast is GREAT!
Sanya: "What just happened?" Uncle Fred: "Channing just happened!" Another great episode in the books! :)
This episode was EVERYTHING!! It felt so authentic. Aaron & Sanya were the perfect 1st couple to be guests on my favorite podcast. Excellent job as always guys.
This was such a great episode. I love Sanya honestly and sharing her heart! The love between Aaron and Sanya since College until now just shows young black love can last! Channing is out of control hilarious which I love! Fred is so tame and keep things balance which is exciting. Ryan is the making sure everything stays in compliance but definitely have a lot of positive conversation about family which is needed. I think The Pivot is just great! You all Rock!!!
I'm so happy for Aaron Ross I grew up with him in football brings tears to my eyes to see him with success
Every show a guest says “That boy Channing crazy” lol…. another great show!
Bruh, Sanya Richards is off the chain. She is perfection. Did y'all catch when she said "my friends that didn't get their man in college still doesn't have one"?
I met my wife in college..
S/o to Fred for asking the personal questions and doing it in a respectful way
I absolutely love this couple…. Black love at it’s finest. I’m so honored to know her personally 🥰🥰🥰.
The Ross’ are very relatable. Having followed both careers as a former dual sport athlete; seeing the genuine love and chemistry they have is beautiful and organic. I love the range that this podcast has. Wonderful job fellas!
Wow, I have never in my life paused to comment on a YT video. Sanya is so eloquent and enlightened... a good-fearing woman. I absolutely love this couple. Thank you to my favorite podcast, The Pivot.
I'm dying over here, what in the hell is wrong with Channing! Lol love this show!

Peace from Mississippi. Love yall..
Black love that light skin one with the dreads always trying to hard
From Georgia these cats on point..Shannon is wild!!😳
@@akeembryant3079 nah. I don't think he's trying too hard. I think he's just naturally silly AND nasty. Lol
@@soulbrother3299 that right there. Foo is WILD. Lol
I’m loving this dynamic with a husband & wife, friends, professional athletes all of that in one relationship is epic and the convo was great and in depth. Another banger for the vault!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
the way they look at each other is incredible totally real totally dialed in to each other
I love this couple, I’ve admired Sanya since I was a kid. It makes me so happy that they are such a solid and loving couple ❤️
I love this interview!!! I can identify with her challenges. Thank you so much Pivot for talking about Roe vs Wade, yall did a great job with touching on the subject with empathy and understanding ♥️
This show is so freaking dope. The fellas personalities stand out and are great to see and hear. I can watch this 2x more then IAA podcast.
You can enjoy both for what they're
@@user-ik5ze1sh7i I can... but I just prefer The Pivot that's all.
IAA not even worth to be brought up anymore, then show evolved waaay pass what they're doing.
Out of all the episodes I have found transformative, this was unexpectedly ONE OF THE BEST!!!!! My God. Respect to all of you.
Watch this episode with my wife. Help us realize we were having the same struggles parenting our young son. Great episode!!!
Put some respect on her name!! 4 time Gold Medalist!!!!! Don’t play with Sanya Richard-Ross. She’s the REAL DEAL !!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
They did.
Sept 2022, RHOA, put some respect on my name SANYA😜🤣👀🌹🏆👀
I’m a truck driver so I’m usually on the road road when they drop a episode….but I’m at home for this one and this one was good for the soul…full of energy and positive vibes
I love the Ross’s. I used to refer to their show as the perfect Caribbean Blend. Another GREAT show. Channing had me in tears omg 😂
I love Aaron and Sanya Ross, they are couples goals for me. I love their love story and the interview was great. I get such joy from the Pivot!
I love the family vibe of this episode y’all have tapped into something no other podcast has done a husband and wife prospective on life
I love how she keep addressing him as "my husband"👏🏾👏🏾🤗 ... You can see the look of LOVE that they both have for each other ... I didn't know either of them before watching them here on @The Pictures; but I will definitely be following them moving forward🔥🔥🔥🔥🎯
The Best Couple of Track & Football in my opinion
Man I love when Channing asks his questions…he always has me cracking the hell up.
I love the chemistry of the pivot. can you imagine if this show is produced on a larger platform. channing was raw and the funniest he's ever been. I love the fact that it gave the ups and downs, the good and the bad about relationships. Not just a fantasy love story, but it showed how the Ross's made adjustments highs and lows and in the end they come together and agree everything is not perfect and I love the fact that they showed that. Too many people look at other people's relationships and they desire or want that other person's relationship because it looks perfect on the outside that is not the reality of it. I love this show!!!!
Great interview! Love this podcast. The way that Ryan, Fred, and Channing allow people to just tell their story is wonderful. Great way to use a platform.🙌🏾👏🏾👍🏾
I absolutely enjoyed watching this interview. It’s empowering to see us come together and articulate our thoughts/feelings in a relatable and clear way. I would watch this on repeat
Smooth uncle Fred and the crazy ass uncle Channing lmao!!! Man this podcast is the shit!
This episode in particular had me rolling. Channing's a str8 fool!! Absolutely LOVED IT!!!🤣🤣🤣

We can call Channing, Unk!
this is one of those shows I must watch again!! just awesome .....its crazy how that window always opens up for Channing to just really blow the show up with one question and its always the same thing😂🤣😂🤣. bravo 👏🏿
Love love love this episode! I saw the title and was so intrigued. The love. The story. Marriage. Dating. Careers. Highlights of life. Traveling /marriage. To staying in same home full time. Parenting. depression ( from both point of views)… so happy y’all made it out and still standing! All of the gems I learned on the show today was priceless… thank y’all so much 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I absolutely love this episode. I laughed and was about to cry. I love seeing a black couple winning.
One of my favorite couples of all time. Such an inspirational couple. Would love it if they did their reality show again. Good job guys 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

My Dude Channing started singing Backyardigans...."Into the thick of it,Into the thick of it " LOL...I feel ya man.
Might be one of the best episodes yet.
Show is getting better every episode. The chemistry is on point. And a wide range of guests. 👍🏾
Out of the park on both sides. Flowing conversations in and out of topics and great interviewees. I feel women are natural conversationalists with the ability to assist pushing thr conversations forward
Now this was a PIVOTAL MOMENT for this podcast to show the dynamic of athletes and their relationships. Truly heart felt and full of laughs!! Great vibes!!! Great job fellas!
This was one of the best episodes ever! Funny, serious, raw, heartfelt, taking accountability. Love it.
I listen every week and I feel this was one of the best episodes yet.... The parenting part of the episode got me stuck in my head about how to have certain episodes and gave alot of insight. Gotta love Channing
More track stars please! How about some OGs like Michael Johnson? Great show
Man that’ll be great. MJ was a phenom fr back in the day!
Great idea
Ben Johnson is a good storyteller
They appear to be 2 beautiful souls united as one. Powerful and inspiring. Great exhange!
Great podcast. Sanya's Beijing story about how she felt God hugging her was truly uplifting and reminded me of my own experience with God when I wad 21 years old. I was in 3rd year university at the time and had just completed a very tough 2nd year in university in honors Physics and Astronomy at UBC in Vancouver Canada. I had a great 1st year academically, but not a very good 2nd year. I had basically lost my mojo for studying in second year and I did not realize how hard it was to get back after you fall down. Anyway, I was taking a very tough partial differential equations course in 3rd year and needed a good score on the midterm to regain my confidence. Of course I studied very hard and prepared the best I could. Then came exam day and I remember walking into the exam room 30 minutes earlier. I was really nervous. Then I closed my eyes and prayed from my heart. Moments later, I felt God's hands on both my shoulders as if to say "We got this."
At that moment, I felt composed and at peace. I ended up scoring a 90% on this midterm exam, which translated to an A+ and my confidence was restored.
Thanks again for your beautiful podcast. God Bless you all!
That damn Channing!!! Got me crying over here..🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is a great episode! You can tell when a woman respects a man/husband when she calls him by his last name! 😯 I always respected their relationship when we were playing ball! Kudos to this couple for standing the test of time! 💯👊🏽
Man....damn podcast just keeps getting better and better. Talk about a POWER couple! BLACK EXCELLENCE on DECK! 👊🏿🖤🙏🏿💪🏿
Love seeing a beautiful strong blessed couple is very comforting! Also they are real individuals who struggle just like us.
God bless you both.
Really a beautiful episode, took in so much, GOD bless ya. I’m so happy ya got this podcast going on.
I love how the host and guest so lock in the convo, even tho they cut RC off they all remember to come back home to let him finish his point true definition of the pivot. Y’all have something great as y’all already know
This is a GREAT interview! Ryan, Fred and Channing have grown into this podcast. Solid content! Thank you Ross’s…bless your family. Excellent Excellent Excellent!
Man this is what a healthy, loving and most importantly committed relationship looks like. Love the fact they both acknowledge that they did have disagreements with each other but worked through them. Great episode fellas!
Well said!
Although I’m not an NFL fan, I absolutely love this podcast!!! It’s Thought Provoking, Educational, & Down Right Hilarious. These 3 are the trio we didn’t know we needed. Well done Kings!!! You make us so proud ✊🏾🖤🤎.
I’ve loved this couple being a Giants fan and track and field fan. They made me watch this and I’m very please with the well-roundedness of the show.

GREAT EPISODE!!! This hour just flew by. There are too many great points to highlight, this was a combination of fantastic hosts with amazing guests. WELL DONE!
This was an awesome episode!!! Sharing these experiences is really a testimony for the world to see a different perspective of an athlete and show that they're human like everyone else.
Man the Pivot team is EVERYTHING!!! If this team doesn't receive MULTIPLE media awards this year, it will be a travesty. THANK YOU again for being another beautiful story to the light with these two. Blessings ALL DAY!!!

Excellent Show Guys!!
Great podcast. Sanya's Beijing story about how she felt God hugging her was truly uplifting and reminded me of my own experience with God when I was 21 years old. I was in 3rd year university at the time and had just completed a very tough 2nd year in university in honors Physics and Astronomy at UBC in Vancouver Canada.
In 2nd year, I made the mistake of getting into a relationship with a girl for all the wrong reasons. My university girlfriend was as fine as they come. She looked just like Janet Jackson. Little did I know that my shallow reasons for asking her out would cause me so much heartache and pain. As what often happens when we are in our twenties, we make mistakes. I saw this girl everyday and looking back, I think we spent way too much time together. Basically, my marks went down the toilet and I barely passed all my courses. The only silver lining was that it was only second year and I still had a chance to redeem my university career in years 3 and 4.
I basically had a great 1st year academically, but not a very good 2nd year.
I ended up getting a final grade of A+ in the differential equations course in third year and made the Dean's Honor List. Year 3 was my redemption year for sure.
I followed my third year with many more high grades in 4th year and graduated university with honors standing!
Looking back at my university experience, I do not have any regrets. With the exception of my second year, I poured my heart and soul into my studies and finishing up my degree, I know that I gave it everything I got.
Today, I am an entrepreneur and mentor young people to help them achieve their potentials. I tell them to stay away from smoking tobacco, vaping, drugs and alcohol and always give their 100% effort in anything they do in their lives. Of course, the emphasis of my mentoring is for them to bring their A game and excel at their studies, but I also encourage them to apply the same work ethic to every other aspect of their lives.
Thanks again for your beautiful podcast. God Bless you all!
Mannnnn, yall knocking the ball out the park everytime yall Pivot! Great show, with some fun, some seriousness, and some crazy Channing stuff!
Just re-watched this . Still one of my favorite episodes 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

Each episode keeps getting better and better! One of my favorite female athletes of all time and her husband on my favorite podcast. I love this!
My favorite episode…just a beautiful couple! This was my first time not watching RHOA since season 1, but after watching this beautiful couple, I’m going to catch-up on RHOA. Awesome!
I don’t even watch the show, but I’m about to support her this season.
I loved every minute of this interview! I wanna see more them on the show!
Channing is shot out, one of my favorite episodes thus far and love black love and excellence
Hi! You must be a fellow South Floridian. I believe that we are the only ones to say “shot out!”
@@justme8233 lol I am
Men have an equal say in the life and death of their unborn children. They cannot be removed from the process at any moment. A woman carries a man’s seed. Women don’t create life on our own. That’s a bad way to few fatherhood. Beautiful couple. Excellent episode. ✨✨✨
I just became of fan of this podcast and Channing is a fool definitely yall have great chemistry....
