- In this video i show you how to make your own font. You will need to make sure you do this as dark as possible. Photoshop and a Scanner are recommended.

Thank You! I am a huge Gravity Falls fan and the series inspired me and my friend to have a little roleplay inspired by it. It's not an official game, show, animation for now or anything, it's just me and my friend's roleplay we talk about every single day. And since I'm a big fan of Gravity Falls, I wrote a journal and stuff and I'm still writing it (Not for sale!)
And I created my own alphabet in it, a really creepy-Egyptian-kind of text with some symbols and stuff, and I was trying to make my own font of it, and I came across this video!
Thank you again, for showing me how to make a font for free! I recommend this video for everybody who's trying to make a font, it's really simple and easy for anybody to do!

I have a question about what happens to the font that you created. Do they keep a copy of your font, or are they only providing a service for making fonts. I want to make custom fonts for redistributing on a website as a resource mainly to myself and perhaps other designers as well. I am a web developer so I just want to know where my files are going if that makes sense haha.
Great video I hope this is going to be a good fit for me depending on if you know the things I asked about. Every other way I have researched making my fonts has been costly, or to difficult to do.
If you want to make your own fonts, professionally, then invest in professional software that covers copyrighting and distributing, etc.

Yes, I know this was posted 3 years ago. Others may wonder the same thing and look through the replies for an answer. In fact, that's the only reason I know myscriptfont.com became Calligraphr - I looked through the comments.
Aside from that, I agree with 54thfloor. To make fonts professionally, use professional software. If you're any good at it, let more people know about your fonts by submitting a font to Google Fonts. You'll be allowing it to be used for free, but it'll get your name out there.
I think I'm going to make the Mr. Saturn font.
can I use colors? (by the way, is there a way to use it without photoshop and a scanner?
Yeah, print out the document and draw your font/letters. You'll have to be super accurate ;) then instead of a scanner, you could look for a really good camera or a phone with a good camera then capture the document, without shadows, crop it out then upload.
About colors, I don't know/ Can't help
Fonts are always black on white (basically, either a point in the character is there, aka black, or it's not, aka white). If you want the font to be a different color, you can't do it within the font, but you can use image editing programs, like Photoshop or GIMP, or programs for creating documents, like Microsoft Word or Google Docs by using the font color tool. For creating websites and apps, use a styling language, like CSS, to change the font color.
One thing, instead of taking the picture scan it in. It'll make it perfect!

do not know what was done to this program being portable....was given to me FOR A DESCENT PRICE..and all i do is follow what i been told.....and i have been also given photoshop cs5 extended and cs3 ....all 3 was portable...and i have NOT !!! had any issues with either........i absolute dont go to adobe thru the program........just as i was told.....all i done was add lot of goodies making this PREMIER than what you can buy..........and this can be gotten cheaper than what you could possibly only could dream.....serious!....and i could do so via sent thru mail on dvd...not unless there is a program that it can be sent thru ...390,522 kb is the file curently..under 90 is worthy....AND WHAT IT COST ME FOR EACH..but i lost cs3 because comp crashed but i always keep cs5 &6 now on a external to be safe......bwolive1 at g mail if interested......ill just say..ill never ever go with out cs6 extended ....best last free ...even if you got to get the new PS...ITS CREATIVE CLOUD...GOT TO PAY YEARLY.....only downfall....I put cs6 zip in documents...unzip...i go into explorer in mydocs,find ps....go to apps..clock on ps....right side window ..scroll to the app icon and save shortcut to desktop in windows 8.... as far as making fonts to add to ps....i do not trust myscriptfont.com...here is what tells me not to trust it....(Copyright IssuesDo not use our services and intellectual property for any form of infringement)

to fix that problem make sure your file type is a png. I accidently got this error because I used a pdn, but it was fixed when I converted to png.
Thanks for your answer, I tried with jpg for the first time as the video showed, now I tried all the possible supported file types, and I made sure the sizes are right, but still nothing... :(

Hi, I did try every option and yes I tried with png, what I didn't realize, when I saved in illustrator, illustrator cut off the outside white stripe from the script page in png, in the video the page doesn't have it just a very thin line, but the pdf version has it, very thick and also my downloaded png has it too, but that is not as wide as the pdf , but when I put it back manually on the page it worked... O.O

difference between true type and the OTF font file?
OTF has added support for glyphs and such. But this advantage doesn't really matter to conventional computer users as they only need the common alphabet, numbers and symbols.
