It was a pretty embarrassing mistake. But if putting it in the video helps one person from making the same mistake then it's all worthwhile. Thanks for the kind words and most of all thanks for watching!!
The new Chinese felpro pushrod gasket doesn't say anything on it, it doesn't say in or out! So thank you for the information it is deeply appreciated my friend. The truck that I'm working on has 377k miles with little maintenance, in Michigan I might add. Thank again, and as far as felpro LET'S GO BRANDON!
That’s a great tip. Knock on wood, my tappet cover doesn’t leak but I know they’re known to be leaky. That being said I’ve always considered a billet cover, so if I ever decide to do mine I’ll know to look at that gasket
I have the same billet cover the gasket flattens out and leaks. I’ve had it off once on a truck that had an air compressor…I used the seal and Rtv and she’s leaking still!
A little blue thread locker wouldn't hurt. And yes the stock covers are prone to leaking so an upgrade is always a good idea. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
Hey Rico I’ve got a quick question for you. On the power steering pump there are 3 connections, one on the very bottom and one on the right and one on the upper left side. I’m wondering how you connected them since the on the gear box there is only 2 connections. I know one gets a tee connections but still there is an extra one. Did you cap it off? Or how did you plumbed it? Thank man for you time and you help
The threaded line is pressure line. And you have 2 return lines on the pump. One return for hydro boost one return for steering box. Pressure line should go to hydro boost then from hydro boost to steering box
Do you have an email or phone number that i could send you some pics of what I did? I’m pretty sure I am on the right track but It would be great if you could check it out
I ALMOST made the same mistake as you. Installing the seal inside out. Glad i triple checked and inspected the gasket!
Glad you caught it. Makes a big mess otherwise
Rico......Thanks for letting me know to check the gaskets ;) Appreciate your hard work ! Thumbs Up Man !

I knew the oem tappet cover gasket would leak so I bit the bullet and put a Keating Machine billet cover on during my build. No leaks so far
Great videos trying to find motivation to finish my 12 valve sawp

You should make a video on all the wiring needed to make this 12 valve run in the square id would really appreciate that
I'm getting my nerve up to do my own, I've done other peoples just not mine thanks for the tips and tricks
Thanks for watching. Hope this video helped
Hi Rico. Any loctite needed on that pump gear nut?
Also, is the stock tappet cover known to leak or should it be ok with a new gasket?
Thanks

Does your truck have hydro boost or vacuum brakes?
Hydro boost out of a 98 Dodge Ram 3500 donor
