But the real question is...
Power supply?
Solar Panels??
Woosh in the UK?! U gotta be trippin mate
u know solar panels can detect sun rays through cloud
u know i was using a stereotype to make a sarcastic comment
oh shit
What if someone was in the house sleeping and they closed the house
Minewire nothing you could fit in that area
Minewire Death is a natural part of life
I'm sure that they have fail safes
Minewire Natural Selection at its finest...
Satan get out of here
When I drink coffee, my poop is ready in 10 minutes
CardinalJake I have never been able to relate to a comment in my life as much as this one.
+Yousef Ahmed Thanks! ;)
Uhh, what? I don't understand what the correlation is between that, and this video...
@@dovahheimiik2580 maybe the '10 minutes' is the correlation? Lul
What a time to be alive
I just hope they eventually figure out a way to add a bathroom
D Ligh these houses weren't made to be a camper. They were made to save the time of building the housr
U live in the woods..... natures you restroom
Nash Anderson Yeah but they still didn't mention how the plumbing or electric gets set up, which are kind of important things when it comes to building a house
that's why it's good to be an equine c:
I have figured out a way, have pinched a few ideas from lots of places and made plans for an expandable house like the one in the video, is fully sself contained with water tanks, rain water collection, gas hot water and cooking, building starts in a couple of weeks!
The should put solar panels on the roof to power it so it doesn't need to be connected to the grid!

A great addition would be foldable solar panels for electricity with small scale storage for night use
It's not worth a 130 k, plus shipping fees which would be another few k, in PA you can buy a 130 k 4 bedroom 4 bathroom, large backyard and everything for 125-150 k.
Jaquon Argon yes, but this is just a prototype. As they make certain parts cheaper and more efficient, and as they are able to standardize more parts for mass production, it will get cheaper and cheaper, as well as having the unfold speed quicken.
Icysnowman or they can try to sell their "exclusive patented works" continually with a premium because they own the foldable home market
Jaquon Argon the fuck you mean large house for 130k? In Louisiana a medium sized home is 250-330k.
Guys, don't forget you also need a truck for this.
Jaquon Argon
Shit that's cheap as fuck. My aunt has a small house in California. 2 bedroom 1 bath and it's valued at 300k.
The main problem with this is that it is going to be expensive as fuck. Anyone rich enough to afford one of these can just travel staying in 5 star hotels rather than driving a semi to a remote field and taking 10 minutes to unfold a couch.
150k each.
"BUILDING..."
"UNABLE TO COMPILE, BUILDING IN PROGRESS"
"COSTRUCTION COMPLETE!!!"
There's definitely a military application for this.
*"Autobots, FOLD OUT!"*
If you like to move or just needs to move, often. This is something. Or if you thinking to expand your house, little after little.
It seems like a few things weren't thought of. Like, where does the power come from? What if the thing malfunctions and crushes you into a pancake? Also, a fully functioning 700 sq. foot place costs much less than $130,000 in most states/countries.
Add on to above: Also, they didn't really consider the necessity of having a bathroom...
Austin Wiggins , you just shit in a bucket.
A $5k folding bucket.
This could possibly replace shanty towns, trailer parks, refugee tents, and many others. Great job UK.
Now I can transform to a house
make something like this but more reinforced for use in colonizing space
This is the best idea here. The rest of you are idiots
this was what I was thinking! But burrowing underground would be our best bet tbh to avoid dangers of solar wind but temporarily it seems good :D
I'm sure they have already thought about that. But stuff that is sent across space has some *huge* requirements concerning materials and functionality. They probably have better solutions by now.
This is useful for superstars on a trip
Imagine being crushed in this thing😮
My Favorite
Its made out of steel though, in states where it snows and use salt I dont see this house lasting too long.
Takes glamping at Burning Man to a whole new level
Well that was pretty neat.
All I need is a bed that expands.
What If you leave your drill inside the house? Will you need another drill to get the other one? How many drills should a person have as a backup?
Water? Power? Waste disposal?
So what about electricity, plumbing, and a strong foundation in case of a tornado or hurricane!???
so, how does water, sewage, electricty and gas work?
If i just one of those ill place it on my school so ill never be late
those expanding hotels would be great for that failed Fyre festival type of events
This is so cool! That's what you call the future of living.
Where would the hipsters plug their drill in? Let alone get the potable water from, or dispose of their grey and black water?
Super neat
Ok, we need balloons. A LOT OF THEM! *WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...*
Ever had a recliner collapse with your feet on it?
These are really amazing
I love this already! Is this prototype or actual images?
This would make drive-bys a thing of the past. Gangstas would just roll up to your house with a drill. Lights out.
I wonder if it can be towed with a dually? I cant hear the sound so im not sure if that was said.
So how about the plumbing?
Sold!
What keeps these things from blowing away in a really bad storm?
how u get plumming water electriceti etc.? GAS?
I almost choked on my food when i saw the price. Nice joke, how much is it really?
Smaller versions of these may be good for refugees
amazed how this gets no likes but all shitposting does
Jessica SmokeyMcPot nah thats a waste
L 300 THATS AN EVEN BIGGER WASTE
donkey 13 why the hell did u say that for . They are human beings just like us they are not rodents. And tell me one thing why is it a waste? Go get a life you selfish person. No wonder your profile name is donkey 13
Jessica SmokeyMcPot IKR! That's what I was thinking!
Is it B O N E L E S S?
That'll cost you $100,000 extra💀
Umm, u just posted this video since now reposted again 😐
What is the point if it is not cheaper than a regular house? After you are done paying for a plot and the transportation this house would cost more than 200 grand....
Once you get it off the van how do you get it back on?
Now this is what i mean by future
The hotel folds and kills everyone inside. NIGHTMARE HOTEL!
unlike the hyperloop, this will actually work
130k...that's actually not bad for once
amazing
So cool
Optimus is that you ?
Didnt you guys already make a video about it?
What a question Is Safe?
a vacationers dream.
now all you need is a forklift and trailer.
+Chris Hux would be good to market in American oil boom towns.
I could see cheaper barebones versions that have like 4 distinct rooms be used for disaster relief for like 4 families each
the thing is, can truck carry that amount of weight on it's back?
Looks like a good idea but what if severe weather hits like a hurricane or tornado that house will fly away cuz it ain't attace to the ground
Day by day, we are advancing.
Wow #Redstone
The world is really becoming slowly futuristic
imagine ur mom forgot u were home and folded the house
The rise and fall of the house empire.
I love how people keep making tiny and portable homes then completely missing the point when they price it.
probably because you can move your home across the country from lot to lot instead of paying for multiple homes and multiple insurance policies. Hence the " cost effective " pricing
It's not though. This would still be classed as a mobile home. There is a reason you don't really see too many 100K mobile homes. Banks won't finance them. So the only people buying these are people who can already afford all that or maybe FEMA if they ever run out of 30-year-old RVs and Trailers.
Yes because there's no cost involved in building then and they could basically give them away for free. Idiot...if you spend 3 months per house you have to sell 4 a year and make enough money to earn a living and pay the workers so they can earn a living. Go take an accounting course and get a clue. Tiny homes are meant to simplify life, create more quality Time by not having to maintain a large structure and property and to live more efficiently - not to get a house for free jackwagon.
Very good idea, but I don't know man. I see a lot of cons toward this retractible house.
Tech is short for technology. Technology is supposed to make things better. 130k for a less than 700sqf is not better. It will literally be the most expensive home per square foot ever made as it doesn't include any land or utilities
*WE NEED THE CAPSULE VERSION*
Nice
I want to live in one
Starcraft Terran. Lift up buildings and move around, land, and start working. Or, I can say uproot on this house prototype.
Guys please include square meters as well!!
"You only need an electric drill to unfold it" How can I AFFORD IT?
130k no thanks. Bring it to about half that then I will begin to consider buying one
How much for a used 1? My PoPs aint give me no small loans😂😶
Whaaat? An actual tech video from TechInsider?? 😂😂😂
(This isn't hate, it's just ironic that they're called TechInsider but they don't have many tech videos)
Where you can buy these kind of houses?
We made it to the future guys Whos with me
There is a possibility that malfunction during expanding or folding could kill people inside the house.
A good reason not to be inside when it is expanding or folding.
Plumbing where?
0:29 thats the mobile operations center from gta v
This house is much cheaper yet slightly bigger than local house sells about $200 000
its practical for daily life? i dont think so unless for someone have much time for picnic or party. i hope its include portable bath tub ,jacuzi and swimming pool
Dubai will undoubtedly buy one of the expandable hotels. So should moderately rich people looking to open a hotel. It'd be a great investment, and you could take your hotel with you if you ever move.
Cool
nice
Can I still burn it down for insurance money?
How much for a 4 bedroom?
That bigger than my house
Why would anybody buy this when you can get a manufactured home for $10,000-$20,000, with the land included?
but can it run crysis?
*Batteries not included
What if the house isn't a house but actually a tent without electricity and water supply. This is tent for rich people
Moving parts always fail as time goes by. Better to have a real house investment.
But does it have a headphone jack?
130K can get you a damn nice house and a garage..
The 1 major flaw I noticed was that it has no built in insulation, and you could tell it has no bathroom. Not even a portable one. Not sure how 1 would set up their plumbing for that type of home. Plus I can see a person freezing their but off during cold climate changes.
Personally I see this for people who own businesses and need a portable office if they plan on staying at a specific location long and don't want to rent out a trailer.
I would market this to people who want to start a business but don't have the funds to pay for heavy construction. Instead of people who need an actual home to live in. I can literally see this being for clothing shops, architect offices, small coffee shops, designer crafts store, yoga studio, etc. I would reach out to that market instead. Yet I guess they're trying to do like Japan with the portable hotels.
