Saturday morning: Les Frenchies, a fresh brewed coffee (or two!), feet up and relaxxxxxxx ....after a very long (and stressful) week here in NYC. Nothing better ! Thanks Colleen and Antione ! Cheers !
I always enjoyed your channel, so helpful for us upcoming first timers to Paris. May I ask if all bistros accepts “food sharing” for 2 person. Thank you 🇺🇸
I'm a huge fan of French culture and I have been to Pais many times, your videos are a lot of fun to watch, your enthusiasm is contagious. I look forward returning to Paris soon!
Frenchies, you are BY FAR the best to follow for all things Paris, I love your energy! Been to Paris 4 or 5 times so far, it's my love (I live in Prague, so it's easier to reach) and next year early May my mom will join for the first time💜 I would have perhaps a bit selfish ask (but I'm sure it would help more people) - do you think you could make a video on Paris for seniors / people who can't walk for hours? Just an idea😊
🤣😂 "you guys are savages!" Haha! I love to watch you two roll your eyes when something delicious hits your palette. Visiting restaurants with you is so fun.
It’s 9.15pm here in South Australia and I’m salivating over those meals. Im from the UK originally and been back a number of times but but never quite made it to France. Next trip will be going there as learnt French so should be able to communicate. Been watching all your videos and must say you both are quite hilarious 🥰❤️🇦🇺
I was so pleased you filmed this episode with Dubillot. We were just in Paris this past week for ten days. We chose Dubillot by chance just by passing by taking pictures of its exterior, and it was very close to our hotel. First thing you notice is its charm outside. Many locals go there and the waiters are very friendly. It’s a young crowd. I think we were the eldest by far. But I must admit the food at Louise Café in Saint Germaine that you recommended was our favorite. We went there twice, and particularly preferred the atmosphere in the lower level. We also dined twice at Dubillot. However one of our waiters encouraged us to leave a 15 or 20% tip using his tablet, which stunned me. He was quite attentive and gave me an extra wine I didn’t ask for. The second night we dined there, it didn’t happen we had a different waiter. Your video tips were especially helpful to us .especially the Metro videos. So good.
Merci for all the videos. Just returned from a weekend trip from Turkey to Paris and it was a pleasure thanks to your tips. Had no issues, enjoyed very much. 🎉😊
Thank you very much for the delicious food AND the price tags. A nice souvenir to bring back might be a cook book of the famous chef Escoffier. Best in the world? 😉🍀
I saw you guys at the Louvre the other day - you were filming so I didn’t want to interrupt, but wanted to let you know we used so many of your videos to plan our Paris trip and it could not have turned out better ❤️ thanks for all that you do!
Thank you so much for everything you’ve helped me with in planning my trip!! I was so excited to run into y’all today at the hotel we are staying at! Hotel Du Louvre! Y’all’s were so unbelievably nice too!! Thank you!!
🤩🥰👍..Wow! Watching you taste that dish was like a flavor explosion in my mouth! Your descriptive commentary really brought the experience to life. Can't wait to try it myself,Your latest review had me drooling from start to finish! Your passion for food really shines through in your videos. Thanks for always inspiring my next dining adventure.
Ate at Bistrot de la Place today. Really enjoyed it and let our waiter know we had seen the restaurant on Les Frenchies. He got on line and was surprised and pleased to see the segment on UA-cam. Loved finding this little hidden gem of a neighborhood.
Your recommendations are always great! I will be back in Paris on July 1! BTW, I was just wondering, are there any new structures or events to see in connection with the Olympics? Thank you!
Bonne continuation
We will be in Paris soon. Like you, we are an American woman, French man, couple. My husband was born & raised in the Paris suburbs. We will definitely take some of your bistro suggestions. Merçi!
My mouth watered the entire video 😅😅😅😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤🤤 we had our Christmas dinner in Bistrot de la Place (thanks to Silvia for the recommendation), it was amazing 👌💯
Portion sizes in all your videos are amazing. Would you say the portion size we see is typical, or just for you two filming and being Super well known?
Thank you so much. Love your vlogs and finding them super helpful. I have one teeny weeny request. Is it at all possible to include vegetarian options in mainstream bistros and restaurants and how a vegetarian and meat eater would navigate their way around Paris ... together 😊!
Oh my! Les Frenchies! You’ve knocked it out of the park again! Can’t wait til my hips are fixed and I can travel again! Paris is gonna be first on the list! Thanks again for sharing! PS, would love a set of those Les Routier logo plates!👍👏👏👏❤️😊
Antoine should be in the food taste test channel. 😊 I cracked when he shared the stories about men and the creme brûlée. 😂 Collene's rabit looks good, I went along with the rabbit's wing until Antoine said, flying rabbit. 🤣 I miss Colleen and Antoine santé with wine. Thank you for sharing the cost of the food. This channel is fun and educational. 🙏🏽
Le Bon Georges is simply the best- I eat there every Friday that I’m in Paris. The steak tartare and steak hache, which are always on the menu, are excellent, but the daily menu always features fantastic options so it’s a tough decision (and the pâte en croute shown is a must).
My family will be coming to Paris in early July. We will also be staying in Normandy and a few days in Montpellier. My kids are very adventurous eaters and get excited to try new things on a menu. Often in the US I am happy to let them order a couple of appetizers and an entree, maybe a dessert. Then we all share and will order more if we are still hungry but usually it’s enough. Is that something that will be challenging in France? I think the US portions are generally shareable so maybe in France it’s less likely bc it’s smaller portions? What are your thoughts? I want to be respectful and avoid as much confusion as possible. Thanks in advance! We are excited!
You can totally share in France and they are happy to let you do that. Servers are not incentivized to upsell anything so they don't really care if you share your dishes. We almost always share the app and the dessert so we don't overeat and feel stuffed. Have fun in France!
Sorry, not a bistro comment, but: You do not seem to have ever included Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in your recommended places to see/visit in Paris (unless I missed that video, for which I am sorry if so). I used to enjoy strolling through the cemetery in all seasons (I loved to take visitors, and we would take violets (his favorite flower) to Chopin's grave and chrysanthemums (her favorite) to the grave of my life-long favorite singer, Edith Piaf). Cimetière du Père-Lachaise is a treasure for history and art! Love your videos! Thank you from Utah, USA.
Bonjour! Monsieur Antoine, when you were at Aux Bons Crus, how would you order that rareness of steak in French (more my taste) and the next step up in rareness (for my husband)? My husband is picky about how well his steak is done so I'm trying to determine what I saw in your video in comparison as to what it would be in the U.S. Thanks so much for this video. I'm gonna have to check their menus out online and maybe add them to our plan of attack when we're in Paris at the beginning of September.
OMG!! Antoine mentioning he has a knife in order to not share his steak, then Colleen saying the rabbit had a wing, and then very liberal and self-serving interpretation of the French Constitution!! I fell out of my chair laughing…but I didn’t spill my wine!
OK, you've added more bistrot to my goto list! Let the tourists eat at starred Michelin stops! I've been eating where the locals eat for 50 years but you added a few more stops😅 Merci Bien❤
Yes, they ask. Always. Even if they will advise you to choose the proper cooking, according to what part of meat you want. For example, the best for duck is "rosé", but if you ask for something well-cooked, they will do it. However, in very high standard restaurants, you are not supposed to ask 😉

You are correct. And to have many Americans understand what to expect, it helps to refer to something familiar.
A LOT of butter !! So good...
Love your videos! Can’t wait to be in Paris again. It has been 5 years. Bonjour from cool and cloudy upstate NY.

Man, I tried to eat dinner first and then watch this video, but I was still drooling and wished that I had what you had.
I’ll be visiting soon. Looking for good beef bourbignon to try while there. The streak frites at first place looked great
I love that you always fight over who gets the most dessert so fun I would fight for the dessert too!
Mayonnase is egg yolks, oil and lemon. Add salt later and whisk a little more.

ask for "saignant" (se nyon) for rare or " à point" for medium

“It’s written in the Constitution‼️” 🤣 My kind of statement. Thanks for sharing 👍✌️☮️

Thanks for sharing good restaurants. Do you need to make a reservation or you just can come in?
It depends on the time and the restaurant (and what season you travel). If it's a place you absolutely have to go to, make the reservation.

Question. When you order steak or duck do they ask you what temperature, or is it temperature of the maison?
we prefer rare so we ask for that
Yes, they ask. Always. Even if they will advise you to choose the proper cooking, according to what part of meat you want. For example, the best for duck is "rosé", but if you ask for something well-cooked, they will do it. However, in very high standard restaurants, you are not supposed to ask 😉
