The Edge in Hudson Yards, is NYC's newest observation deck. It opened up just two days before needing to shut down for the Covid-19 Pandemic. It has re-opened and is ready for locals and tourists alike to explore. Megan Marod, a licensed NYC tour guide, is here to report on the experience. This Travel Guide will help those visiting New York City figure out if they should visit The Edge. Btw - not just in NYC . The tallest balcony in the whole Western hemisphere. I’m impressed you were so casually chilling on the glass floor. It gave me vertigo for like an hour. Maybe because I went night time. Also if you see it might time,it’s sick how close to you the moon feels. Literally you think it’s same level as you.
It was a 45 minute wait going up and down the elevator

Great video!!! There was an attraction called Skyslide in LA. Unfortunately, it seems to have closed due to the pandemic and a remodel. You can (of course) see it online. The glass flooring reminded me of it.
I went last month and it was awesome. It rained pretty heavy when I arrived and the outdoor platform was closed, but by my ticket time it had reopened. Couldn't walk across the glass due to it being too slippery, but could still lean over to look straight down. Will go again next time I'm in NYC, hopefully on a clear day!
My mom just came from there yesterday and she LOVES it!

Oooh the edge looking down - not sure if i'd be able to be as brave to look down like you - but i'm also scared of heights!
I realized that I didn't find the glass floor scary at all - BUT - I also work at an observation...and swing and aerial apparatuses....so maybe I'm just used to being up high! lol.

We did Top of the Rock , but this one was number two on our list. We'll get to it next time. (TOTR has a boring elevator ride BTW)
Hi I went to the edge today it’s really nice but I would recommend if you don’t like rush then go during the day I went in the night it looks really nice but packed really good experience
Thank you for your input! Yeah, I saw that sunset times were sold out several weeks in advance! In general, I've found early mornings are best if you like empty observation decks!
Is the elevator right on the lobby. I feel like I missed that part from when you entered the lobby.
They should bring back the NYC Experience. I saw it also in London

Actually, 4:14 it was the Dutch who were the first Europeans to colonize Manhattan in 1624, which they called New Amsterdam.
That is correct. The English were just an example for people to reference when Manhattan began to grow in terms of geographic size.
shame about the Vessel. Hopefully someday they can figure out how to open it back up again
It’s totally different from Empire State Building, or Rockefeller Center Observation deck. Of course it’s much modern architectural design, too.

You can buy at the door, but if you're looking at going a peak time like sunset I STRONGLY recommend booking ahead.

Hi what time did you go ? What is the best time to go without the sun coming out in the pic or waiting for a long line ?
I went around 1:30. The sun didn’t seem to be creating too much of a flare. I’m not a professional photographer, but I know my photographer friends tends to like to go to observation decks SUUUUUPER early or at sunset. Sunset it will be very crowded. The earlier you go, generally the emptier.
How far is the edge from Dumbo?
do you have to arrive at the beginning of the time slot or can you arrive anytime during the time slot?
My understanding is that anytime within the window they'll let you in. We were about 30 minutes late, and it was completely a non-issue. That being said - their sunset time tickets tend to sell out a few weeks in advance, so I'd arrive closer to the beginning of the time slot to be safe.

This is a fine vlog. I was a tour guide n Chicago, and I don't know if you're familiar with the Tilt windows at the former John Hancock building observatory here. Takes that leaning glass effect to an extreme.

What would you say is more worth, the top of the rock or the edge?
I was going to make a video about Top of the Rock before I went on vacation, but the weather i NYC didn't cooperate. I would say The Edge. Top of the Rock is great, and has a really phenomenal view of Manhattan - you really look straight down the center of Manhattan and get a face to face view of the Empire State Building, and the best view of Central Park of any observatory...but if I had to choose only one, I'd do the Edge.
This building is amazing I documented my experience there on my channel I definitely recommend you go if you're afraid of heights and you want to conquer that fear it's better and safer than skydiving
I guess the Edge was on the 4th FL? Just kidding.
