We have moved into London 4 months ago, though I visited London couple of times earlier, I am amazed by the sheer size and various attractions of the city. I love the parks and spend a lot of time with my children there.
Make the most of it honestly! I lived in north London for four years and didn’t make one day trip out into central at all! Literally was a 15 minute train journey that cost no more than £10 to get there and back with Oyster cards. Just take yourself off to central whenever you feel like it, even if it’s for an evening walk or a jog!

For the best views of the the London skyline, go to Sky Gardens which is free. Instead of going to London Dungeons, visit one of the many free museums or art galleries. Better still, go to the theatre and watch a show. The London theatre scene is unmatched. However, book tickets in advance. You can watch a play at the Globe Theatre for a mere £5!

You mentioned Brick Lane and the Indian food... I love a good Indian meal, but what absolutely AMAZES me is how expensive it is to eat... EVERYWHERE else in the UK. Scotland, England (Birmingham - the 'curry triangle' particularly) and Wales (although only twice). I live in London and yes, it's not cheap, but go to Brick Lane and the side streets; Wow! You can get some great deals, good food and NOT as expensive as Scotland or elsewhere! Pick your time (lunch time or early evening), walk around and look at the offers in the windows. You will get accosted by owners standing in doorways with leaflets. So much competition - wanting YOUR business. I often take relatives or friends there, after a few pints in the local and then walk around for a 'deal'. It's cheaper than outside London - how does that work???
In December we will spend our second Christmas in Covent Garden. Last year, we went in Style. This year we are on a budget. So our Edwardian Blu experience was like a dream. I’ll let you know how our severe drop in accommodations goes. I feel like it takes a lot of trips to London to really know what you are doing. The free thing we enjoyed was the square where there are preformers, and the outdoor market that has art, jewelry, etc.
This is an amazing selection of things to do! I personally love visiting the museums (my favourite has to be the V&A for the incredible exhibits) and you just can't go wrong with a gorgeous walk through one of our royal parks with a warm drink at this time of year!

If you're in the Paddington area, you can walk along the Grand Union Canal to Little Venice. Probably better than starting from Warwick Avenue tube station.

I find Oxford street is brilliant in early mornings (especially week days if you can go) as it’s pretty empty and it’s so lovely and rare to see the street all the way down 💜

One thing I would have like to have known is how many parks make you pay to use the toilet. In Canada, we do not do that. We differ with basic human rights to pee. Our lighting in park bathrooms are often blue so drug addicts can’t do drugs. Other than that, I liked the trip. Would I ever go back, probably not.

Last time i went to London was 2019 on the Scouts annual Monopoly Run. Found ourselves on regent street totally by accident. dont think id ever seen that area of london but the architecture is just beautiful. Apparently ive also visited carnaby street. Had no clue it was a tourist attraction, i thought the signs were a one off for a celebration lmao

You will love it!!! It is my city and though I have been in and around it my entire life, it never gets boring! So much to see and do and so beautiful- yeh it’s expensive but it is incredible none the less

Last time i went to London was 2019 on the Scouts annual Monopoly Run. Found ourselves on regent street totally by accident. dont think id ever seen that area of london but the architecture is just beautiful. Apparently ive also visited carnaby street. Had no clue it was a tourist attraction, i thought the signs were a one off for a celebration lmao
My favourite London Park has to be Holland park, so pretty and there are peacocks! 😂
I am lucky enough to visit london twice before and spent almost 2 weeks there combined. Even though i'm far away from uk but definitely will visit it again after pandemic end :)
