When is it ethical to be a millionaire in vet med, or pet care. What if you are the CEO of the ASPCA

  • There had been a lot of backlash lately about the income of the CEO of the ASPCA making millions on the tears of those commercials. What about vet med. When is it ok to profit on the misfortune of suffering and the ability to deny life saving care for the sake of profits.

"Build a legacy or a bank account". I wonder how many people really reflect on that? It's a heavy thought and I like it. Thanks for this!

This veterinarian has a huge heart. I drive extra mileage to take my pet to see her because I know she provides honest care and gives my pet its best options for treatment. I highly recommend the drive to this clinic. It won’t disappoint. Affordable vet care and honest care.

You are the most caring Veterinarian! I wish I lived near your clinic. Thank you for your kindness and intelligence.
I used to have Boston Terriers they are all gone now. I have 4 rescue Chihuahuas and a rescue Tripod miniature Poodle. I usually go to the least expensive Veterinarian that's a first come first serve, but that requires sitting in my car 2 hours before they open to sign in. If I cant do that I go to a Veterinarian that is about 100.00 more, but his appointments take many days to get. If it a weekend and someone is too sick to wait until Monday there is a wonderful Veterinarian who used to have his own practice, but now he works for a corporation and the prices are so high, all I can do is charge it. Sad it has to be that way.

Hello. Thank you for the message. That veterinarian sold out and he knew exactly what he was doing when he did it. He decided to make money and forego what was best for his staff and his patients and his clients. Shame on all of them.

Doctor @kristamagnificoDVM I agree with you. His dentals are 850.00 to $900.00 plus any extractions and meds. I took my 4 pound Chi to the least expensive Vet and sat in the car 2 hours until she opened, it was a 140.00 with one extraction.

I can see both sides of it. A good CEO can elevate the business. But if a company wants a good CEO they're going to have to pay them. The question is, is the ASPCA better off with this CEO at this salary than someone that will work for less? Are they doing better work?
I don't know the answer to that but he may very well be worth it.

I want to give what I can to support causes I only care about. I don't want a vacation or new car or toys & I hate seeing money wasted on illegal invaders, public representatives waste and corruption. Also if anyone is able to share a means to not only donate to animal cause in need that is 100% tax refundable I'm all ears cause if I could donate and get all that money back from the wasteful Gov. I'll give that same amount refunded from my refunded amount right to another cause in need.

Pardon my ignorance, but is the ASPCA publicly funded? If their money doesn't come from taxes, then how much money they make is nobody's business but their own.

The ASPCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, funded by the donations of the public and any grant money they can qualify for. Do you think the grant people don't have the right to know what is done with their money? Do you think the public shouldn't know what is getting done (if anything) with their personal money, donated out of their own household budget?

@@k.larson4682 You have good points, but if it's a private organization then people have the option of not donating any money if they think their desk jockeys are paid too much.
