I loved Danny as an actor/singer when I was a child. I was born 1964 and one of my most favourite movies was Hans Christian Andersen. He always made me smile and had the most kind and happy face. I am amazed at how much he achieved in his lifetime. He truly was a very special and rare person. We need many more like him. xxx
Mr. Kaye stopped in Portland, Oregon on one of his tours. My parents were solid fans, and had shared many of his movies and jokes with me. We were center stage, front row at what was then known as The Portland Civic Auditorium, now The Keller Auditorium. Mr. Kaye sang his funniest songs, and told his best stories and jokes. I knew many of his jokes, and would begin to quietly giggle before the punch line. After a few times of unobtrusively giggling, Mr. Kaye looked down at me and said: “You’re making me feel very old!” This brought the house down! I had been so quiet about giggling, as not to be disrespectful, I didn’t think he had noticed. He was such a nice man. May his memory be as a blessing.
I loved inch worm. My uncle was in charge of entertainment at the Waldorf Astoria in New York and offered to get me autographs. The only one I ever asked for and got from him was Danny Kaye's. I absolutely adored him.
Thanks for a wonderful tribute to a great entertainer and humanitarian! He is sorely missed and no one can match his unique personality and talents today! Unfortunately, while a great many people do remember him, there are younger generations who don't even know who he was! May he rest in peace and may he be remembered always!
What a great tribute. I had no idea the depth of his career. Once in awhile in the 60's our teachers would treat us to 'movie day' with popcorn balls and Danny Kaye movies. They were the best and I just loved him. He was one of those people who's just different from everyone else in a magical way and changes the world for the better.
He passed away a few years after I was born but loved watching him in "Court Jester", "Hans Christian Anderson ", "White Christmas", "The Five Pennies", as well as the cameos and voice work he's done.
1974ish...I lived in Christchurch NZ. I turned on radio as a question was asked, 'identify the voice.' I recognised DK...phoned and surprised he answered the call. He was promoting Unicef and decided he'd answer calls. His gentle, soft voice reflected his sincerity. He passed me to an assistant who took details of my donation. Today finding this post opened memory of a moment feeling/sensing the Heart of a very special Soul.❤❤❤❤❤
When l was young, people raved about Danny Kaye in his film 'The Court Jester' in the early 50s, but I never saw it till years after it was made..A brilliant film, which to me epitomizes the skill and natural talent that Kaye had in abundance..
There’s never been & will never be another as brilliant as the legendary Danny Kaye. He was a comedic genius as well as dancer, singer, impersonator & mimicry. All his films were unparalleled successes. RIP Danny, we miss you.
Danny Kaye was indeed a comedic genius never to be forgotten. But let us also remember his remarkable wife Sylvia Fine who came up with thousands of jokes, plots and songs to keep things afloat for many years.
When Danny Kay came to England after the war, he always appeared on a radio show called In Town Tonight. It was always at 6 o’clock, Saturday nights. When my father and I heard Danny Kay would be on the program we made it’s a special date. He always took over the whole show which just didn’t happen on the BBC in those days. But they allowed him free reign to do anything he wanted. He was so funny and it lightened our rather dull life after dark years of war. We loved Danny Kay..
In 1962 Danny Kaye was touring Asia to do USO shows. I was in Camp Zama, outside of Tokyo. We were never on the USO show calandar. He stopped in with little or no notice. The HS Gym filled up almost immediately and I was luckey enough to find a place to stand. Danny, by himself with no backup, charmed and delighted the audience with what appeared to be an effortless performance. I still consider it one of the highlights of my military service.😊
I Loved watching Danny Kaye movies & watching The Danny Kaye Show on TV as a little girl. My favourite of his movies was Hans Christian Andersen! I wish they made movies like those today as my grandchildren miss out on so much joy, especially from such a talented man! I had no idea of all his philanthropic gifts to the world, but they don't surprise me as he was always a Very Special Star in my eyes ... & those of all children of my generation. Thanks for the memories, Mr Danny Kaye!
Danny Kaye was my favorite actor , and he is still the one named if someone asks me. I am almost 65, and I still watch Whhite Christmas during the Christmas season! He was a very smart man, and I admired him for that. I learned some new things from this video!
Around 1965 in Australia I wrote and requested a photo from Kaye and he responded. It was a copy of a signed photo but a real thrill to a young boy. It was a photo of him sitting and wearing a scarf or similar. It was inscribed “Best wishes Danny Kaye”. The envelope it arrived in was marked Danny Kaye, Hollywood USA. I’m almost 70 but still recall the details.
I fell in love with Danny Kaye after seeing him in Hans Christian Andersen in 1953. I knew he was married, but I didn't care. He was beautiful with this warm blue eyes, golden red hair, gentle voice, and soaring talent. But alas, it was not to be. Danny was 39. I was 5.
There he is folks, a Genius, a Humanitarian a Patriot and an overall multi talented guy. I live in New Zealand, I was 20 when Danny died and I was seriously sad when I heard. Sundays at 7am our national radio used to host the Sunday Mornings at Seven Childrens Request show where I remember well Dannys' many kids oriented shows. Clever Gretel, The Little Tune that Ran Away, are but two of his recordings that we kids hang on to every minute of, he was great. The Court Jester was as this vid states an all time Classic...such memorable folly such as 'The Vestle with the pestle is the brew that is true!' WOW nearly 60 years since I saw the film and I still remember that particular skit, it just goes to show how much we loved Dannys' work. If per chance you have never watched The Court Jester featuring Jacqimo, Jacqimo, King of Jesters, and Jester of Kings I strongly suggest you take the movie in. Gee there is another line from the film I remember like it was watched yesterday. The world lost a GREAT MAN when the Great Danny Kaye passed away. To THIS day I was unaware that Danny was in White Christmas with Bing Crosby, naturally everybody knows the title track but we forget that Danny was in there too, most likely holding the entire movie together with bis multi talents but Bings success with the title track sort of took all the limelight to the point where Kaye is sort of an afterthought...but not really, IMO he is that far ahead of Crosby when it comes to pure talent it is daylight between the two. RIP Danny Kaye and Thank You for the fantastic memories and congrats on your stellar career, you were a rare breed indeed and thank the Lord that I was alive to experience your multi talents.
One of my all time favorite movies was "the secret life of Walter Mitty" with the beautiful Virginia Mayo. A Marvelous feel good movie. Danny Kay was a genius at everything that he did. Thank you and rip beautiful man...
My God , when did this man breathe?! Just love Hans Christian Andersen , even now I am in my late 60's.. He was a true STAR in all walks of entertainment and UNICEF
Growing up my mother took me to the premiere of all his movies. As an adult, I still love his movies and his persona. He was one of the best entertainers ever.
Leonard Nimoy went to the theater where Danny Kaye made a personnel appearance to promote his film. Afterwards Danny Kaye saw him on the street heading for his car. He ran to him and one of the body guards told him, "Beat it kid." He was very disappointed and said to himself, "If I ever become a famous Hollywood star I'll give anyone and everyone my autograph who asks for it." He actually did that. When the Star Trek show was on the air, he would get lots and lots of mail and he tried his best to answer all of it and it became impossible because there was just too much. He had to hire someone. However he did put in an autograph up on request. He did his best to keep up with the autographs but eventually it became impossible.
Hans Christian Anderson was the 1st time I saw Danny Kaye, when I was a kid, an knew I liked him. Then I started to look for his name on up coming movies. If I didn't see anyone I liked, I'd be out riding my bike. ( I only got to see movies on TV )
One of my all time favorite performers. I saw everyone of his movies as a kid. It is so aggravating to see that he was killed by bad doctors as so many people are in botched simple surgeries. I have nearly died 3 times from crappy doctors (who were called best in their fields.) Miss him. Grateful we have his movie collections to rewatch forever.
That's what you get when you let AI run the show. Far too many youtubers are going the AI route these days and it just makes their presentations look sloppy.
Constructive Criticism: The summary and its content are wonderful! It is sure difficult to fit such a prolific life story into a 20 minute segment. While it is perfectly ok to use AI for translation and narration, the placement of some of the video clips are not only inaccurate, but inappropriate as well. Perhaps editing could be approved on? Kind regards! MJ
A sad remembrance of our family's greatest fans of Danny Kaye. I lived across the street from his High School, Thomas Jefferson High School (that's not the school in the video) on Pennsylvania and Dumont Avenues and my sister and I attended his Jr. High School 149, renamed Danny Kaye Junior High School on Sutter Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn. He did want to revisit his younger years in what was once a great, safe neighborhood and met with all of the students while there. In fact, Danny recorded our school song. My sister and I would always attend his Broadway performances in New York City sitting in the front row. We loved him. Again, the picture in this video of Thomas Jefferson High School is fictitious. It's NOT the one in Brooklyn. In fact, the original high school is still operating but nowhere near it's glory producing famous individuals in all walks of life. In fact, the former C.E.O. of Goldman Sachs, Lloyd Blankfein, was a Jeff graduate, and so was Shelley Winters and Steve Lawrence (who unfortunately just passed away). Danny will always be a legend in our lives for his successes that gave us such happiness every time we would speak about him.
What an incredible man who made a positive impact on the world. His daughter's tribute is touching and true. He did so much for humanity and entertained in so many ways. Singing, comedy, radio, movies, tv, live shows 😂😊...recording artist. Legend
They had to say "Scared you" to make it seem DK's sad death was more dramatic than it actually was..though reading about recent cases of death through hospital negligence, one feels more worried than scared...😢
Why is the narration so overly dramatic? It makes this sounds like it's a ghost story rather the celebration of Danny Kaye's life. And why are you showing Bob Hope?
After warching this, i realize he was more awesome than i thought he never failed to make me smile. . Love, respect and Positivity Always . Neita. ✌💕🕯🦋🌻🙏💖✨🌠🙂👋👣.
From my earliest memories, he was the love of my life. What a man. He fitted ten lives into one. His talents knew no bounds, and he excelled at everything he tried. I still adore him for the fun he gave me in what was otherwise a shitty childhood.
I so loved and cherished Danny Kaye!! Such an eclectic and brilliantly talented performer!! Enjoyed his tv variety show in late 60's. He died much too young! ❤
I absolutely loved Danny Kaye growing up and even more so as an adult. He was a comedy genius.. and always will be. Loved his films. Hans Christian Anderson was my childhood favourite. ❤❤❤❤

Danny Kaye didn't have perfect pitch because there is no such thing.
Love the concept hate the overused AI voice
I loved Danny as an actor/singer when I was a child. I was born 1964 and one of my most favourite movies was Hans Christian Andersen. He always made me smile and had the most kind and happy face. Agreed. You lucky man having that special shout out. Over the years I bet you have often thought of the experience. Good times.
@@CRAIG5835 Good story..like all the great performers, Danny Kaye was very clever at noticing little details like that..
Ellen: is that a picture of a shitbull on your profile?
As a young child, I was given a Danny album of him singing children 's songs. I loved that album. My favorite was Inch Worm.
I also loved that album, I think the name was “Crazy Barbara”. Wish I could find a copy
O.jp
My favourite too! 😊 I had that same album. Always loved watching Danny on film also.
I loved inch worm. My uncle was in charge of entertainment at the Waldorf Astoria in New York and offered to get me autographs. The only one I ever asked for and got from him was Danny Kaye's. I absolutely adored him.
Altogether!!!!
As a child I watched him on TV for the first time, and I've never stopped loving this wonderful man. Thank you for this upload

I remember being taken to the cinema by my mother, to see "Hans Christian Andersen".
It was a magical event I'll never forget.

as a five year old in 1960 I was Danny Kaye's biggest fan ... Five Pennies was my favourite!

ME TOO, FELL DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH DANNY KAYE
That age difference was nothing by todays standards. Another few years....he'd have waited for you...
Thank you for this. You did a wonderful job of opening up the life and many talents of Danny Kaye. Well done!

I'm gettn tired out just listening to what he managed to fit into his life !!! What a good hearted, prolific worker.
I loved Danny Kaye. Saw him live once. I will never forget that. It was awsome.!
Loved watching his movies as a kid. Had such a crush on him. Never knew all this about him. Just could sense he had a big heart. This made my day. ❤
I remember watching him on t.v. he was an all rounder, just amazing I loved everything he did.❤😊.
Danny was a great actor and singer!
I still love him as Phil Davis in White Christmas
I love all his movies. I truly miss his comical antics. You left one hell of a legacy, Mr. Danny Kaye! ❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦

My all time favorite and with great pleasure, I continue to watch Danny today. Rest in peace, my friend
There’s never been another that came close to Danny Kaye
One of my all time favorite performers. I saw everyone of his movies as a kid. It is so aggravating to see that he was killed by bad doctors as so many people are in botched simple surgeries. I have nearly died 3 times from crappy doctors (who were called best in their fields.)
Miss him. Grateful we have his movie collections to rewatch forever.
He has been my favorite for my entire life ! So much talent
A very odd mistake: a mention of Danny Kaye's friend "Louie with his guitar." It then shows Louis Armstrong with his trumpet.
No doubt that dumb AI "recognition" stuff. They still don't have it perfected yet.
'Al' means all sorts of stupid mistakes like that.. Mistaking Charles Chaplin for Rudi Seiber, husband of Marlene Dietrich...
Shame on you for that garbage title. He was a good guy.
You’re right, that title makes no sense and the speedy narration didn’t match the almost random and frantic video clip arrangement.
That's what you get when you let AI run the show. Far too many youtubers are going the AI route these days and it just makes their presentations look sloppy.
Danny Kaye was my mother's favorite comic actor, and my sons and I loved his work too. Still do.
A hero and an inspiration in so many ways!
I've always admired Danny K....since I was a child....I absolutely love...HAND CHRISTIAN ANDERSON...
It's Hans Christian AndersEn..famous Danish children's writer
Walter Mitty, The Court Jester, Double Trouble, Merry Andrew...still watch them, still laugh like a fool.
I LOVED DANY KAY,E WATCHED ALL HIS MOVIES ANOTHER STAR IS GONE OUT, GOD BLESS HIM
I too had one of his albums of children’s songs when I was a child. I loved that album. Wish I still had it or could hear it!
Before my time but I still remember some of his movies. Just checking on his bio after seeing him on the Twilight zone a few minutes ago.
I grew up on Danny K. since nastaolgia, also loved red skelton, must see for entire family
Kaye and Skelton were amazing actors now could hold a candle to them. I could sit and watch them all day.
He was a brilliant talent your so missed Danny
I knew one of his brothers and his brother’s family. Danny was an amazing person.
I absolutely loved Danny .... so talented so stylish. There will never be anyone like him again x ❤
Can you imagine how much better this narration would have been without 50 "can you imagine"s?
I love this guy . Great actor that triple threat talent .

As a young girl I had such a crush on him. Such an accomplishment individual. Miss him so much
Such a lovely bloke him& Gene Kelly are the two people i wouldve loved to have met when they came London
What an incredible man who made a positive impact on the world. His daughter's tribute is touching and true. He did so much for humanity and entertained in so many ways. Singing, comedy, radio, movies, tv, live shows 😂😊...recording artist. Legend
I STILL SING UGLY DUCKLING IM 71 HAPPY MEMORIES OF INNOCIECE❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
They had to say "Scared you" to make it seem DK's sad death was more dramatic than it actually was..though reading about recent cases of death through hospital negligence, one feels more worried than scared...😢
He was an amazing man. I love Danny Kaye. 💖
The Inspector General and Court Jester were his two best movies!
I was a big fan of both Danny Kaye and another young man named Tommy Steele.
Bless him Tommy steeled is still alive
I loved Danny Kaye! I had records of his singing and just thought he was incredible
Why is the narration so overly dramatic? It makes this sounds like it's a ghost story rather the celebration of Danny Kaye's life. And why are you showing Bob Hope?
I thought he was SMASHING. I miss him ❤😢
One of the greatest!😘🥰😘🥰😘🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😇😇😇
I`m sure the crazy off the cuff comediens, like red, danny and johnathan winters inspired Robin Williams
You probably already know this but Robin Williams absolutely adored Jonathan Winters. He even had him play his son on Mork & Mindy
❤❤❤ The Court Jester is my favorite movie ❤❤❤
After warching this, i realize he was more awesome than i thought he never failed to make me smile. . Love, respect and Positivity Always . Neita. ✌💕🕯🦋🌻🙏💖✨🌠🙂👋👣.
I’m not sure if I could choose. He was just so brilliant. Soon Danny❤
Thankyou Page of Wonder for the video on.❤😊.
From my earliest memories, he was the love of my life. What a man. He fitted ten lives into one. His talents knew no bounds, and he excelled at everything he tried. I still adore him for the fun he gave me in what was otherwise a shitty childhood.
I watched "I'm Glad We Met.' A Short Drama Film.
When it ended this was the next video.
Most folks don't know who Danny Kaye was.
A man of many, many talents. Loved him when I was chil❤❤❤
Him singing Inch Worm is so Heartwarming.
I love Danny Kay. He was great.
I so loved and cherished Danny Kaye!! Such an eclectic and brilliantly talented performer!! Enjoyed his tv variety show in late 60's. He died much too young! ❤
I would have loved to have met him.
"Can you imagine?" - YES I CAN! (I said about a dozen times).
I absolutely loved Danny Kaye growing up and even more so as an adult. He was a comedy genius.. and always will be. Loved his films. Hans Christian Anderson was my childhood favourite. ❤❤❤❤
The AI voice and pace spoils this video
I absolutely loved Danny Kay, still playing his songs to my children ,
An absolute legend 🕊💙🙏
I used to watch his movies with my mum he always made me smile I loved his humour
What still scares us today?
Click bait.
Danny Kaye was a good actor. I am very disappointed when the ACTOERS are bad mouthed after they pass away. Let us rem remember them the way we remember them
I loved him growing up. We knew all the dialogue to "The Fox"
I loved him since I was a little girl!
Thank you for making this video
My mom loves Danny, what a talent he was. RIP Danny🌹
Loved him growing up such a lovely man
Some of the pictures of Bob Hope so you’ve got to work on that
Danny Kaye, will always be the BEST entertainer Ever to me. Also was a true deciple of Christ on how he lived his life, Showing, helping providing, and bri ging Laughter to the least fortunate, especially the Children around the world. He's in Heaven still bring JOY and LAUGHTER to All.

My family and I watch White Christmas every year ❤
this was wonderful to watch - he was a brilliant man
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was my introduction to the brilliant Mr Danny Kaye! I was a teenager and I still love that movie to this day ( I'm 61 now). He passed 2 days after I turned 24 on March 1.
What’s with all the pictures of Bob Hope?
I wondered that as well. It appeared that Bob hope was shown while talking about Danny, but did not have anything to do with the story.
Someone obviously can't distinguish Danny Kaye from Bob Hope 😢
I loved him as a child. I thought he was handsome...
Please don’t tell me anything bad about these wonderful actors.
