      The Ball just snapped off. Do you have any idea the Diameter of the Ball itself. I was thinking of taking a Shortcut & just buy a Small Ball Lead fishing weight & just Crimp the Cable. Do you think that this could work?
      Thank you,
      Swammy

      @@swammyswammy6476 Hi Swammy, it might work if you're trying to save$. I threw away the old cable so I cannot measure the diameter but I guess about 6mm. If you pull off the carpet & unbolt the cable release cover. You can see it & measure it. The fuel cap cable ball is the same size. As long as your sinker is able to fit into it but soft lead, I'm not confident it will hold well enough for long enough. Too much time to pull everything apart. P.S. I also took out the drivers seat

    This video was a big help but there were some differences with my 2013: the trunk-end of the cable on mine terminates @ the key switch rather than at the latch, and the cable can be changed without removing anything, so easier than is the case in the video. However, the trunk and gas cap cover lever unit @ the driver's seat is not a self-contained plastic unit held on with a single bolt that can be unscrewed and the unit pulled forward. Instead a single bolt is removed and you have to pull the lever unit back through a cross member into the area between the front seat and the door sill, and you have to work underneath the carpet, so more difficult than the case in the video. I have no idea what model year the changes were made at, but I know the 2013's are different than the car in the video. Still, the video was certainly a help. Thank you.

    • @YiannisPagonis
      @YiannisPagonis  2 роки тому +1

      Common reasons for this to happen: Broken latch: The latch is what allows your trunk to close. The latch in your trunk operates the same as the latch in your door or seatbelt. ... When this cable is broken, there is no connection between the trunk latch and the trunk opening lever, and you won't be able to open the trunk.

      Thank you! Can you also show how the fusible link can be removed and replaced? Thank you for your videos regarding this corolla model. It has been very helpful and rewarding to fix your own car.

    Not even close to the setup on my 2013 Toyota Corolla US made. You should probably put a disclaimer that your car doesn't resemble most toyotas in North America. None of your videos have been helpful because our cars differ so much.
