Not in my experience. Just tried that today and the window is similar with mounting holes but is too tall for my 2009 american manufactured model. Not sure where the car we got it from was made, but it seems like they changed window shapes after 2007.
The clips can be removed with heated air, e.g. with hair dryer. They are glued with a special black glue that is not so easy to melt. It takes some time and patience. Just be careful not to burn yourself.
