    Thanks a lot for the tutorial. I loved it. There are a lot of good oil paintings tutorial on youtube but not much for expressive works like this, especially using unconventional techniques or material. I think it s really rare to see this kind of tutorial. thanks a lot again. I have two questions: irst, what is the name of the tool you mentioned liking to use? (I’m not a native English speaker, so I didn’t catch the name.) Second, did you use a photo reference for this piece, or did you design it entirely on your own?

      Thank you for the compliments. I'm new to youtube, but not to teaching. Hopefully I can express concisely my process. I enjoy it. The tools I've had and used forever and it's somewhat worn, but I believe the brand is Princeton. As far as the reference, I used a free stock image for the general features, but deveated from it quite alot. After all I wasn't after a likeness for this portrait, but for the 'expression'.
